Like Ben, I didn’t really have any celebrity in mind when I wrote Todd Keenan, sexy cop next door.
The first time we see them interact on page is when he’s been watching Erin return home, his nightly ritual. Only this time she’d come to his door and invited him to their house for a party. He declined.
Erin went inside, slamming the door in her wake. God, why did that cop have to look so damned good? All masculine and clean cut in his jeans and snug cotton shirt. He was so earnest with his big, white smile and his good manners. Not her usual type at all, but he sure did fill out the aforementioned jeans. Right into her masturbatory fantasies.
The guy watched her every night when she got home from work. Sometimes she thought she saw interest in his eyes. Other times she thought he was just making sure she didn’t steal anything.
Tonight as he stood there in bare feet, his dark brown hair looking soft and sexy, still wet from his shower, she was pretty sure it was the latter.
In fact, he’d looked practically panicked when she impulsively invited him to their party. Stupid. It so was not his scene but she wanted to talk to him. To hear the smooth and yet rough voice, to see that slight afternoon beard shadowing his jaw. There was something about him, just beneath the surface. An edge she was dying to expose and rub herself against like a cat.
And then later as they finally kissed the first time…
He moved between her legs and knelt, looming over her. “I haven’t tasted your lips yet.”
Before she could give a sassy reply, he’d crushed her mouth beneath his. He slid his palms over her arms and held her hands as he plundered. He held her wrists and she wished he’d hold them harder, wished he’d pin her down so the play struggle would be sweeter. He held back. There was a part of him she sensed he kept tightly reined in and she wondered why. Wanted him to break the control on her. Ached to see the full extent of what he truly wanted.
I don’t know who this is, but he’s a fairly good Todd Keenan (Todd is a little darker, a little broader, but when we first meet him, this guy is pretty close to how I see Todd in my head…

I am actually reading it again. I can’t even say how many times I have read this book or series. It’s one of my favorite go to books to read

I am also re-reading the Brown series in anticipation for Laid Open. Brody has always been my favorite…but I wouldn’t turn any of them down.

Ditto what Christine and jessica said above! The Brown Siblings is what got me hooked on your books. Erin has to be one of my favorite heroines just from seeing her strength. I’m so happy we get to re-visit her, Todd and Ben =)
