It’s that time again! Ask em if you’ve got em!
Janet asks: Lauren – I love your playlists but can’t always find them. Would you be able to have a continuing place for them on your website along with the book that inspired you/them?
Thanks so much, Janet! Music is hugely important to my writing process! Some of my pages here for different books have a playlist attached. You’ll see a link on the bookpage for a playlist if I’ve done one. It’s a little time consuming to make the table for them so I only do them when I have time.
Debra asks: When will the next Petal book come out? Lost in You – Beth’s book, comes out in March of next year in digital formats and September of next year in trade paper.
Shelann asks: I was wondering are you going to continue the series that has Ascension and Fire and Rain. Will there be others or just the two in the series? It always makes me happy that the books and these characters are so enjoyed! Unfortunately I don’t write for that publisher any further and the process of taking it elsewhere and having it split between two publishers takes more time than I really have to give. At this point in time I’m finished with the series.
I will continue to read what you write (but I hope you write more “de LaVega series and Cascadia as well) A new Cascadia book UNCONDITIONAL will be out in August of next year featuring the Enforcer of Pacific. My schedule for all of 2013 is full at this point, but I do hope to get back to de La Vega in 2014.
Crystal asks: My question is in regards to the Chase series. I have read the whole series, I can’t get enough! (love me some Shane!) Where did the inspiration of those hot boys come from? Nowhere in particular! They just came to me when I was first sketching out the idea for Giving Chase. Everything slowly evolved from there. At first Maggie was supposed to be with Shane, but it didn’t work out that way as I wrote it. The Chases have always come alive for me on the page.
Libby asks: Lauren – I love the Laid Bare series in particular. Did any particular blokes influence your ideas for the male characters who are all so divine. I recently did some posts about Ben and Todd and who I’d envision them as – here’s the one for Todd. I did one for Ben as well. Usually before release of a new book I’ll do some “Meet the Character” posts – with text from the book, musical influences and pictures of people who I may think resemble my characters (so you can search the blog for “meet” to find some). Ryan Bingham in this photo is Adrian for me.
Christine asks: Did you know have an idea what book will follow after Beth’s book in the Petal series?
I really don’t yet. It might be Anne, it might be Jacob or Jill. I’m not sure at this point 🙂
Kim asks: I would really like your recommendation on some other authors to try.
Oh my goodness so many! I love Megan Hart, Sylvia Day, Carly Phillips, Jill Shalvis, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Jennifer Crusie, Maya Banks, Jaci Burton, Victoria Dahl – for contemporary romance. Paranormal romance I love Lara Adrian, Anya Bast, Eileen Wilks, Larissa Ione, Vivian Arend, Patricia Briggs, Rachel Caine, Nalini Singh. Historicals – Tessa Dare, Courtney Milan, Lisa Kleypas (never read a single Kleypas that I haven’t absolutely loved), Victoria Dalh goes here as well, and Sylvia Day’s got an amazing historical voice as well as her contemporary voice. Futuristic/sci fi – JD Robb’s in Death series, Ann Aguirre, Megan Hart, Jordan Summers has a really fun paranormal/futuristic series she did for Tor that I loved, Eve Silver writing as Eve Kenin
ETA – Shiloh Walker, HelenKay Dimon, ALison Kent, Alyssa Day, Julie James and Moira Rogers
I know I’m missing people – there are so many amazing authors out there writing really fabulous books!

Hi Lauren,
I hope that this email finds you well! My question is in regards to the Chase series. I have read the whole series, I can’t get enough! (love me some Shane!) Where did the inspiration of those hot boys come from? I seriously want to climb in the books and say, “Pick me!”
I look forward to reading more of your amazing work!!
Best Wishes,
Crystal

Hi Lauren,
I have read a lot of your books (multiple times) and I can only say “Thank You” for what you do!” My question: I was wondering are you going to continue the series that has Ascension and Fire and Rain. Will there be others or just the two in the series? I will continue to read what you write (but I hope you write more “de LaVega series and Cascadia as well”…. 😛

Ms. Dane,
I have enjoyed the Chase series of books very much as well as the beginning of the Petal series. Nathan’s book was very good. When will the next Petal book come out? By the way, I really enjoyed Shane and Matt’s books. Thank you.

Hi Lauren! I was wondering, while looking though your Upcoming release section, Beneath the Skin is coming up in January. I know it already came out already in eBook format, in January will it be a paperback release? Your music playlists are amazing! I know some of the publishers print them in the back of the books, but those that aren’t, do you think you could share them with us on your website?! (If you don’t mind of course) 😮 sorry for another question, you’ve once told me to just write (& I do) but would you mind sharing how your process works? Thanks so much! I truly enjoy your works of art! Thanks for being so great and creative.
