Summer is almost gone! Two of my three kids have birthdays this month (along with a nephew and my SIL) so the activity level has already picked up from summer laziness to a little bit more focus on school and the future. Next week I’m waking them all up earlier. I have to laugh because my parents did the same and I hated it. But now I realize how much it helped that I didn’t go from getting up at 11 am to 6:30 on the first day. I suspect making pancakes helps them get over such grumpiness.

Back to school–end of summer, sigh! My kids early years were when we move here to Australia the first time and school was year round. The end of year was second week in December and school started back first Monday in February and it was bloody hot here in the Outback. Our struggle wasn’t getting out of bed, ours was getting out of the refrigerated air and going to school verses the pool.
Hope your kids enjoy going back.

I hated getting my kids up for school when summer vacation was over. I had one easy kid and one that made me want to pull my hair out.
