Thursday Again (Already?)

2010

Weeks, days, hours fly by, bringing me closer to the inevitable moment many of us face – school being out. And of course it can’t just be, June 10 last day of school, thank you see you in September. No. It has to be this is a half day, this is a field day, this day y you get out at 11 and this day you get out at 10:26 oh and that day you get out at 9:42 – sigh. Only to have them, and half the neighborhood here all day long for two months.

I love my kids, I do, but it’s easier to work when they are not here.

Anyhoodle – June is staring me in the face, deadlines approaching fast, releases coming up and it’s CRAZY time. We’re having computer issues on and off so if you have email ed mt it might take a bit for me to reply.

Oh and those releases I mentioned? Both are out in July and I realized I haven’t given any away on my blog yet. So – I’ve got TWO bound galleys (paper) and TWO digital galleys of INSATIABLE up for grabs. Want to win one?

Just reply to this post and tell me what celebrity news story you wish to never hear about again – easy peasy cause there are a crapload of stories and people I wish I could click the “hide” button for. Or you can tell me about a book you’re excited to read this summer. Your choice but do answer one or the other or both if you like!

I’ll choose a winner from the comments on Sunday the 23rd of June at noon pacific time. Be sure to check back to see who won!

Good luck

Omigosh…I wish tabloids and the media would just get over Brangelina…*gag* plus this whole Tiger Woods thing…just let it go and move on folks.

As for books I’m looking forward to…I’ll Be Slaying You by Cynthia Eden comes immediately to mind…probably b/c I was salivating over the cover earlier today. *wiping away drool*

I also have a ginormous TBR pile that I need to work my way through *both digital & print* BUT I’ve been super picky the last while and nothing on my shelves or on my macbook appeals…*the grass appears greener on the other side* I’m craving all the books that I have on my buylist but none of the ones that I already have…*sigh* What to do? What to do? especially since my wallet is running on fumes…there’s no hope for new books anytime soon for me *Pray for me 😛 please*

I’d love not to hear about Jesse/Sandra again, mostly because she’s handled herself with such class in such a classless situation: it’s too bad she can’t be allowed some privacy with her new son. Also, I wish someone would put a stake in Brangelina/Jennifer Aniston. Really, who cares about them anymore?

I just reread “Relentless,” so I’m really impatient for “Insatiable” right now! Looking forward to Shelly Laurenston’s “Beast Behaving Badly,” Nalini Singh’s “Bonds of Justice,” Gena Showalter’s two releases, Kresley Cole’s “Demon from the Dark,” plus historicals by Lisa Kleypas, Julia Quinn, and Jennifer Ashley. Lots of great books coming up!

Jessica Watson. If you’ve been living in Australia for the past month, you’ll know who I mean. There’s nothing scandalous about her, but she was a news fixture every single day. Media was declaring her a “hero”. For feck’s sake, she just went solo-sailing! Didn’t feed the poor, build shelters for the homeless, provide medical treatment, or any of the other things that I believe real heroes do. Solo-sailing is a selfish venture. To me, heroes do things for others, selflessly.

    My word, I’m a grumpy old woman today… 😉

Tiger for me – if never see his face again it will be too soon! And the media manipulation about the story is even worse!

As for stories then the last of the Stardoc series will be out on August 3. Can’t wait for that one and Insatiable of course!!!

Ah, love the “Insatiable” cover, it’s just so perfect. The cover for “The perfect play” by Jaci Burton is maybe even a tiny bit hotter.

I stopped reading celebrity news months ago and my life is definitely better because of it.

I wish I had never read anything about the whole Britney Spears mess and especially about her fame hungry mother. Whenever I see her mom I just get so angry and sad.

There are several books I’m excited for this summer. For example “Bliss” by Opal Carew because I love the combination of a sweet love story and very hot scenes.

Black Jack by Lora Leigh is the book I am looking forward to reading this summer.

I have to agree with having enough of tiger and Jesse. I would also like to add the Salahis. They were the couple that gate crashed the white house last year. I live not far from DC and that is has been all over the news again. Enough already don’t give these publicity whores what they seek the most attention.

On a different note I am looking forward to

    Insatiable -Dane
    Bullet-Hamilton
    Garrett-miller
    no mercy-Kenyon
    Sizzling Sixteen- Evanovich
    water bound-Feehan
    Lash of need-Singh

I never want to hear about any mistresses getting paid money because they did wrong in the first place. And these women have the audacity to act as if what is occurring is not partly their fault also 👿

I am looking forward to reading Moon Sworn by Keri Arthur and Married by Morning by Lisa Kleypas.

We are big into cycling around here and are currently watching the Tour of California. Yesterdays news about the former unseated winner of the Tour de France, Floyd Landis, and his allegations that pretty much every cyclist is doping, is just bad news all around, unfounded (at this point) and throws a pall over the current and upcoming cycling events.

I am looking forward to reading Bullet by LKH and Fade To Midnight by Shannon McKenna.

OMG, Tiger Woods!! I’m so TIRED of hearing about him and his mistresses, etc. I know Rachel Yucatel’s name by heart, and I have NO interest in her, but every time I turn on HLN or Nancy Grace, or just about any news station they are talking AGAIN about her and Tiger. Errrrrrrrrrrrr………..enough is enough!! And what the hell is up w/ all these stars claiming sex addiction all of a sudden? Sure, it might be legit in SOME cases, but every rat bastard that gets caught cheating on their wives is an addict? Yeah, I’m having a hard time buying that!!

There are soooo many books I can’t wait to read! One, coming up is Shelly Laurenston’s Beast Behaving Badly. Also looking forward to reading all your “Phantom Corp” books before Insatiable. My only disappointment is that I’ll read them so quickly, I will have the rest of the summer with nothing else! Besides, with kids home, who has time! (but I always sneak a book along at the park or beach…love trips to the library!)

Ah, Insatiable! I have GOT to have this book just for that cover! YUM! I want to devour the book too! I’ve been intriqued by the story arc that I am on the hunt for the first book of the series. Now, just looking at the cover I don’t know if I could wait to read the first!

Stories in news that I roll my eyes and close my ears to: Anything and everything about a celeb who cheats! Tiger Woods; recently that guy from Bones! I used to like him, now…I can’t even bring myself to remember his name! See this is why I read romantic HEA…the knowledge that there are people out there who love and stay in love! who don’t stray! who don’t have the URGE to stray! I look around in this world and worry that I am dillusional to think this way but I can’t bring myself to stop reading HEA because…well…I need the hope! I need to know its possible for others. It is for me! My hubby and I are of the same mind so we’re good. I want to teach my kids that too! I want them to know that cheating is not the norm!
    OK off my soapbox now.

I can barely think straight after gazing (drooling) over that book cover! Amazing!

OK (gets self together)…I am sick to death of hearing about Tiger Woods! That has been beaten so many times in the media its ridiculous.

I was really looking forward to “Dangerous” by Diana Palmer, but now have that hot little ARC in my hands so the wait is over for that one!

Can I say all of them? I personally don’t like the way the media follow people and publish stories about them just because they look good. I would prefer to read about people who have a good reason to be in the news like the charity workers in Haiti after the earthquake or stuff like that.

It seems my disgust is too long to post all the names here. So many of these people have the world by the tail and choose to be d-bags. Why???

I’m excited for Erin McCarthy’s next book, yours (freakin’ love that cover!!!), Linda Howard’s. I really wish we getting Suz B next seal book.

I am tired of seeing all of those celebrity rags and recognizing no one. Almost every person on the covers is from some reality program. When did exposing your weaknesses and stupidity on national television make you famous (well…politicians)?

I am looking forward to a lot of releases this summer, but besides Insatiable, I am really looking forward to the sequel to Oracles of Delphi Keep, by Victoria Laurie. I know, it is a kid’s book, but the first was really, really good.

I am really tired of hearing about Michelle “Bombshell” McGee continually pushing her incredibly crude presence in the public eye. Building her supposed fame by tearing apart so many peoples lives.

Reading is always a wonderful escape but to get away from more comments from her it becomes necessary for mental survival!
