Thursday Again (Already?)
May

2010

Weeks, days, hours fly by, bringing me closer to the inevitable moment many of us face – school being out. And of course it can’t just be, June 10 last day of school, thank you see you in September. No. It has to be this is a half day, this is a field day, this day y you get out at 11 and this day you get out at 10:26 oh and that day you get out at 9:42 – sigh. Only to have them, and half the neighborhood here all day long for two months.

I love my kids, I do, but it’s easier to work when they are not here.

Anyhoodle – June is staring me in the face, deadlines approaching fast, releases coming up and it’s CRAZY time. We’re having computer issues on and off so if you have email ed mt it might take a bit for me to reply.

Oh and those releases I mentioned? Both are out in July and I realized I haven’t given any away on my blog yet. So – I’ve got TWO bound galleys (paper) and TWO digital galleys of INSATIABLE up for grabs. Want to win one?

Just reply to this post and tell me what celebrity news story you wish to never hear about again – easy peasy cause there are a crapload of stories and people I wish I could click the “hide” button for. Or you can tell me about a book you’re excited to read this summer. Your choice but do answer one or the other or both if you like!

I’ll choose a winner from the comments on Sunday the 23rd of June at noon pacific time. Be sure to check back to see who won!

Good luck

Well, I’m looking forward to reading a lot this summer – I really need to catch up! The only two books of yours that I have are Laid Bare and Coming Undone – and while I’m DEFINITELY not complaining , I’d REALLY like to get the rest of your back list. SO that is my goal for the summer, to buy all your books that I don’t have.
Celebrity stories? I don’t know, I’m pretty sick of hearing about Heidi and Spencer. That poor girl is going to end up like Michael Jackson and have her nose fall off or something if she doesn’t stop, and Spencer is tweaking. Seriously, something is not right in that boy’s head.
Anywho – good luck with the end-of-the-year craziness, I have 4 (only 2 left at home yay!) so I know how that goes. *hugs*

I hate even calling them celebrities….but anything to do with Kate or Jon Gosslin. I would be happy to never hear their names again.

I am up to my eyebrows re: Lindsey Lohan. The child/woman is a walking trainw reck and until people stop acting like she’s privleged its never going to stop.

This Summer I don’t have a particular book I want to read, however I do intend to make a dent of the books sitting on my bookshelf glaring at me.

I tend to buy faster than I read.

I am SICK of hearing about celebrity infidelity! But the names I’m most sick of hearing are Gloria Allred DEFENDING Rachel Uchitel. Why does she need a lawyer anyway? Ugh…

I have to say that I am tired of hearing about Spencer and Heidi. I never understood why people pay attention to them, plus they are a little scary, more so Spencer than Heidi, but since her surgery…. 😯 lol It seems like all the media surrounding them is negative but thats what they want apparently. And even though, it seems, that all media is tired of them they continue to report on them. Why? πŸ™„
I have so many books to read this summer, I went through a dry spell because of all the reading that I had to do for my classes so now I am playing catch up and loving every minute of it πŸ˜€

I personally think all of those celebrity divorces that just happened are way too much. Let Sandra Bullock resolve it on her own without trying to shove another camera in her face to ask her how she is handling things. Yes, it’s true Jesse James was an a total ass but he wasn’t my husband and I was not one of his tramps so I really don’t care.

My TBR is overflown and my kindle is about to burst but I still have room for your book Insatiable and I am really am excited about Megan Hart’s Naked, Alex’s story has been intriguing me since I finished reading Tempted.

I’m so tired of hearing about all of the celebrities that cheat. I’m not surprised, because with fame comes power and temptation can be hard. However, just because I’m surprised does not mean that I am not disappointed. Hey, ignorance is bliss.

I am excited to read a few books coming out this summer. The Darkest Lie by Gena Showalter, Twice Bitten by Chloe Neill, and Linger by Maggie S.

There are so many news stories that I can’t stand to hear anymore. Tiger Woods, Paris Hilton (I despise her!) Lindsay Lohan, Jessie James. The list goes on and on. I used to spend a lot of time reading the gossip mags and visiting the sites. I stopped doing that because it’s a bunch of crap and my time could be spent doing something more productive. Such as reading. It’s way more entertaining. πŸ˜€

I’ve always been sick of “Speidi”, and it’s already been mentioned so I’ll write about something else.

What is up with the “Pretty Wild” show? Could E! not snort crack before they decide to pick up a show? It follows one of the girls involved in the Hollywood home robberies and her family. It makes me sick to say that I live in the same area as them. This girl and her so-called adopted sis are the biggest sk**** and have nothing to offer the world. It seriously makes me want to scream and say shut up if you can’t say anything intelligent.

Also, I guess the girl got 180 days in jail. She still claims she’s innocent even though she had some the stolen merchandise.

I usually like E!, but this show makes me want to boycott the channel and move away from the Valley.

    And yours *grins* of course!

I’m going back to school in June, and taking 4 classes in a 10 week semester (a regular semester is 16 weeks). Yes, I’m actually crazy. And not looking forward to summer because of the insanity. But if I want to get into nursing school, I have to take all these classes now. Sigh. I’m mostly upset because classes are going to impede on my reading time. But I WILL make time to read. I’ll go through withdrawal otherwise & that just wouldn’t be pretty…

I’m SO SICK of hearing about:
    -Spencer & Heidi
    -Lindsay Lohan
    -Jon & Kate
    -Michael Jackson’s doctor
    -Jesse James (I’m Team Sandra!)
    -Tiger freaking Woods

Basically, anything that I hear/see 18,000,000 times a day while I’m trying to live my life. Or find out gossip about celebs I actually are about. LOL

I wish the press would leave basically ALL the celebrities alone to live their lives in peace! OK, I love watching TV and movies, and sure, I’d enjoy hearing about some of the actors’ personal lives, but only if willingly offered, not relentlessly chased after.

Book-wise, I’m dying for INSATIABLE *and* INSIDE OUT. And Emma Holly’s next release, whose title escapes me, but the excerpts were…guh!

    Posting from my cracberry…..

I am still upset over the Jesse James Sandra Bullock situation. I thought he had more integrity than that.

    Bit here goes….

I am so sick of all celebrity “news.” I can’t stand hearing about Tiger and all of his mistresses. And then there’s how many women Jesse cheated on Sandra with. Yesterday I heard a Headline News teaser with a soundbite from Russell Crowe. The voiceover person said something along the lines of “find out what made Russell Crowe so irate…” Ugh. If that’s someone irate, I’d hate to see what they called me when I get so furious and frustrated with my 3.5 year old. Gah! That’s when I realized I never want to hear any more celebrity “news” ever again.

On to a much more pleasant topic. πŸ™‚ I’m looking forward to a whole lot of the Carina Press ebooks, Amy Knupp’s firefighters trilogy, Tessa Dare’s trilogy and of course Insatiable.

I’m with the others any ‘celebrity’ news is too much.
Not interested in Tigers stupidity or any other celbrities infaldalities really.
‘Bieber Fever’ another oh cripes change channel cringe.
So many so called celebrity news/moments aren’t really worthy of news time but the media needs to talk about something so blows them all out of proportion or goes looking for something they can put a spin on (bad or good) just to be able to claim an exclusive.
How much of what is reported is just reported on facts rather than slanted?

Sigh sorry bit of a sore point at the moment lol. Thankfully I think we get less of this sort of sensatalisim than you do in US but still happens.

I have to agree with many others that I get tired of any media coverage of celebrities. I don’t want to know what is going on minute to minute in my friends and families lives why would I care about a stranger? I think we have become to exposed as a society…let’s dial it down.

I’m looking forward to Maya’s new Colter book, Twice Bitten by Chloe Neill, a bunch of Carina’s upcoming books, etc….

If I never hear a word about Rielle Hunter and John Edwards, I will die a happy woman. I am sick and tired of the media giving Rielle a platform for her platitudes on a very sad, sordid and bad situation that hurt a lot of innocent people. Thus, to see how she never took responsibility for her role in such a mess and passed it on to Elizabeth Edwards onto itself is enough for me to want to puke when I hear RH’s name.

As for books I am looking forward to reading this summer: Maya Bank’s “Colter’s Lady” and “Colter’s Daughter” plus “Unbridled” by Beth Williamson. I love both of them…bt I have lots of other books on my TBR list, including “Insatiable”.
