There’s a contest to win a copy of Undercover going on at Vitch’s LJ page….
it’s quiet at the moment, the kids are in the post lunch period when they are too full to get into fights with each other. Last night’s first grade musical was adorable and I gotta give credit where it’s due, really well produced. The kids did a great job, they all remembered the choreography and their lines and there was a minumum of kids acting silly. They were even on key for the most part. It was sweet to see my middle kiddo up there doing his thing. Well, when parents kept their butts in the seat.
Which leads to a bit of a rant: seriously, you are not in your living room when you are in public. It’s not that complicated a concept. So when you’re in the gym watching your kid, so am I. And when YOU stand up and have your other children standing on seats I can’t see. And it encourages all the other jerks to stand up too. Because after all, who cares about everyone else as long as YOU can see. Fine message to teach your children. The parents lined up in the back and against the wall were at least out of the line of sight. Pffft! Don’t think I won’t tell you to sit down, I totally will. And I’ll tell you to be quiet in a movie theater if you’re near where I’m sitting and chatting away during the movie too. Why are people nice when they get screwed over?
Anyway, enough of that. It was adorable, the other two kids behaved really well and we went out for ice cream afterward so who can complain?
Started copy edits on Laid Bare today. The thing about copy edits is they appear to be really time consuming and complicated when you first look at them so I exist in this sort of, “don’t wanna!” state for a few days until I make myself sit down and look more closely. At that point I realize it’s not that bad and it’ll just take time. I’m dorky that way, LOL.
I also heard the cover for Laid Bare is done and I should be getting it soon. I can’t wait to see it! I’ve heard a bit about it so I’m thrilled.
Um, that’s really it. Working, hanging out with the family, nothing too very thrilling.
