KEEPING THIS AT THE TOP UNTIL FRIDAY!! New content starts one post down!
The Magnificent Eight Authors have all gotten together to run a fabulous blog contest to win oodles of wonderful prizes! Check each participating author’s blog to see the prize she’s offering: Anya Bast, Jaci Burton, Me,Megan Hart,Joey Hill,Patrice Michelle,Mandy Roth, Shiloh Walker
If you had unlimited funds and ability to procure one, what sort of car would you drive and why?
My answer: 1969 Dodge Charger with a 426 Hemi engine – because I love muscle cars and this one is heavy and loud and powerful. It’s big and badass. Here’s a picture of one…
Anya Bast’s Answer:
Practical Anya wants a Toyota Prius very badly. Non-Practical Anya dreams of a 1970 Dodge Challenger. It’s the car I gave Adam to drive in Witch Heart. Vroom!
Jaci Burton’s Answer:
A 1967 Corvette Stingray convertible with a 435 hp 427 v-8 engine. In Rally Red color. Because #1 it’s fast as lightning and #2 I’d look hot in it.
Megan Hart’s answer:
I would drive a completely restored 1968 Purple Chevy Impala convertible! Because I already have one, it’s just not in the best shape…
Joey Hill’s answer:
I’ve always wanted a lavender convertible 1989 Jaguar XJS. No real reason other than the fact it’s just one of the most beautiful cars I’ve ever seen and I love the idea of having it in lavender, with taupe-colored fabric seats. Maybe when I’m 105 and a wildly successful author, I’ll pull up to a conference or book signing in one. The bell staff will pull out my walker and help me get out of the bucket seat! And of course I’ll have a cat or two that rides along with me, perched on the head rest. Or a precocious grizzled old schnauzer in the passenger seat.
Patrice Michelle’s answer:
I’d buy a candy apple red ’69 Mustang because it has the best body style!
Mandy Roth’s answer:
The Munster Koach. I have wanted the car they drove in the Munster’s show since I was little. Come on, three model T bodies, blood red interior and 18 feet long. What’s not to love? The next best car would be Grandpa’s Drag-u-la for when I’m feeling a little sporty.
Shiloh Walker’s answer:
Man…I’m so not a car person. I like the classic mustangs. I guess one of those. Or maybe a Harley-can I pick a Harley?
So lovely readers – If you had unlimited funds and ability to procure one, what sort of car would you drive and why? Answer here and on Friday I’ll choose TWO winners at random from the comments.
The prize will be: a signed copy of any of my books available in print! Don’t forget to check out the other blogs to see what they’re offering up!!

Ohhh man. I would want an 82 camero with cross-fire fuel injection system and be able to restore it to mint condition. I use to have a friend with a car like that and it was the bomb to drive I have wanted my own ever since. π

Hi Lauren:

I really want a mini cooper convertible in laser blue with white racing stripes. Oh and an S class so it has maximum horse power. I can see myself driving on some really fun road trips in that car.

a 1969 yellow Corvette. Has been my dream car since I was 10.

Well, I don’t drive. BUT when I do start, I want to get a vehicle that is an alternative to fuel or electricity. Those are both resources that will be really expensive in the future. Mix that with an old muscle car, and it would be perfect. Of course I would need the power of the muscle car too!

I hate to drive and I have always lusted after KITT – the Knight Rider car. You just tell it where you want to go, and it does all the driving for you. I could read in the car while I was driven anywhere I wanted to go. What oculd be better than that?
November 3rd, 2008 at 8:37 am · Link
I’d pick a WRC Subaru Impreza WRX STi because I LOVE a fast car! And they sound so sexy π
November 3rd, 2008 at 8:43 am · Link
Wow, this one is really hard for me. I like the car we have–handles well, roomy, fits me like it was built around my butt (that’s why I bought it!) and a giant sunroof. But, if I had to pick, I guess I’d go with a convertible and I did a little research into the land of never-never and decided upon a Bentley convertible. Dream big!

Gotta go with Patrice on this…Classic Mustang convertable and candy apple red!
With me it’s not just the money…it would have been where to put all the kids!
LOL

With unlimited funds, I’d go for a dream car of the future–something unbelievably energy-efficient that runs on something like trash, or air. And maybe one that automatically adjusts to the number of passengers involved–sometimes I’ve gotta have the room in a minivan, but when it’s just me and the youngest tooling around town, I really prefer a much smaller car! Crazy? Maybe π

Oh man, I want a two seater convertable porche in shiny blue.

*waving madly at Lauren*
Your dream car? My mother had a Dodge ’71 (bought in December ’70, mind) that took us–five kids and their friends, and the two adults in the family–around Mexico for almost twenty two years. Then it got t-boned and died *sigh*
As for me? I’m weird. I want a smart car. In metallic green or blue.

1958 Thunderbird. Man, those are cute cars! I wonder if it could be made into a hybrid? Modernize the engine a little? I like classic cars and the Thunderbird is one of my faves.
I like Lisa T’s idea of a limo and driver but, I would feel weird having him drive me to the GYN’s office.

November 3rd, 2008 at 11:48 am · Link
I honestly don’t know. I’m not really a car buff, so I don’t really know what is out there. I would definitely want something that is fuel efficient….wait, does it have to be from this century? Can I have one from the future? You know the type where they are hovercrafts and they fly 30 feet in the air. I want one of those.
Although, Rachel has a good idea as well. James Bond’s Aston Martin does look awfully nice.

The Scooby-Doo mystery mobile would be great. It’s got lots of storage space and you’d never forget where you parked it since it’s psychodelic coloring would really stick out.

This is hard since I’m not much of a car person, but if I had unlimited funds, I think I’d like a totally restored 1932 Ford Roadster. I’d go with this just because I love the look of the old cars and think it would be fun to have one that I would use only for Sunday drives or special occasions.

Can I copy Jaci’s answer?
A 1967 Corvette Stingray convertible with a 435 hp 427 v-8 engine. In Rally Red color. Because #1 itΓ’β¬β’s fast as lightning and #2 IΓ’β¬β’d look hot in it.

When I was a little girl my daddy had a 1969 burnt orange Corvette. All I truly remember about it was the white leather seats, the little back window ( I believe that was the last year that they weren’t slanted),and standing with my head out the tee-top singing along with the Looney Tunes 8 track that we played every Sunday.
I never knew exactly why Daddy had to get rid of it,but that’s the car I would find and buy, but I’d give it to him.
I’m 4’11”, you wouldn’t even be able to see me sitting in it.
November 3rd, 2008 at 7:06 pm · Link
If I’ve got unlimited funds why am I picking one?
Okay, I’d get a ’69 Mustang. But with those unlimited funds I’m buying a trailer for it and towing it behind my huge RV!!!
That way I can tour all over the country and still have my dream car.
