What a week it’s been and it’s only Thursday. I’ve been working as much as I can, trying to avoid the heat!
But I’ve got a release coming up, books due, kids home for the summer and health issues so it’s busy busy – Today’s prize is all three Petal, GA books (Once and Again, Lost in You, Count on Me).
And since I’m talking Petal, GA – I’ll answer some frequently asked questions about the books/series:
- Will there be more books in the series after Count On Me? Yes! I’ve already contracted for another, out in digital formats in April of next year. I don’t have a title yet, but as of this point it’s looking like it’ll be Anne Murphy’s story.
- How many books will be in the series? Will you write one for every Murphy? I’ll continue to write books set in Petal as long as I get ideas for them – I’ll write as the ideas come rather than lock myself into a set number of books. Because it’s a town and not a family or group of friends, it’s a wider net and the possibilities are pretty endless. So I can’t tell you at this point if every Murphy will have a book. There are other folks in town who may catch my interest first!
- Will you ever write Polly and Edward’s story? I get asked this one a lot. I love Polly and Edward but they have a really complicated story and mainly it’s Polly’s story. So I do know it and some of it is difficult and emotional and it’s going to take time to do it right. I haven’t felt like I’ve had the perfect way to write it and until I do, I won’t. They’re too important to me to not do them justice. And since their love story would be set in the late 50s into the 60s in the deep South, there are other things to get right – execution is key here and why I haven’t done it yet. SO – yes I would like to, but not until I feel like I have the right circumstances.
Okay folks – like I said, today’s prize is all three Petal books. I’ll choose a winner from the comments to this post (ENTER AT MY BLOG ONLY, PLEASE) and announce in tomorrow’s Winners Post. It’s feeling to me like contemporary romance, which is dominating the market right now, will start to constrict (like everything does) and something else will be the new hot thing. What are you guys wanting to see more of? Me? I miss PNR and hope it comes back!

I’m always surprised when I read industry things saying people are getting tired of vampires and werewolves. NOT ME! PNR is my fav. Although I don’t like zombie romance.

Since I like to switch up between romance sub genres I don’t typically feel to much is missing. What I would really like are some good stand alone books, I am invested in numerous series and would like a one and done every once in a while.

This build up to to the release has been so awesome. I love your books and I haven’t gotten any of the Petal books yet. I’d love to win them. Thanks for the giveaway and answering all the questions 🙂

I enjoy a variety of romance genres, yet some of my favorites tend to be series based on a family with a lot of siblings, cousins, and best friends. 🙂 looking forward to reading more of the petal book series.

Oh that’s funny, the first thing to came to mind was “paranormal!”
At least, good paranormal.
And I keep hoping that steampunk gets more attention, too.

This series is one that I do not have as of yet. I am planning on purchasing them in the near future. I do hope that you are beginning to feel better. Its hard to juggle everyday life while fighting illness. Your books rock!!

Although I scoffed many years ago, I got sucked into a few NASCAR titles, and I found that I really enjoy series that are built around sports franchises. Would love to see some new ones, maybe around a fictional MLS team (says the diehard Sounders fan).

I’m hoping for PNR as well! Also, more romantic suspense would be good – some that doesn’t involve Special Ops super warrior type heroes but more everyday characters.

I love paranormal as well as contemporary romances. I have a hard time finding good time travel or Sci Fi romance.

I enjoy most genres, but PNR is my favorite. Urban Fantasy also. 🙂

My first and favorite has always been contemporary romance so I hope it stays strong. I think there are some really talented authors that I love to read writing contemporary: Lauren Dane, Victoria Dahl, Molly O’Keefe, Jaci Burton, Sarah Morgan, and Samantha Young just to name a few.

I like fantasy, steampunk, alternate history, a lot of different stuff, but I mostly look for books that’ll make me laugh. If a book makes me laugh out loud, I don’t really care what genre it is.

I love urban fantasy, suspense as well as paranormal but any story as long as its written well and the story line is engaging I’ll give anything a try.

I’m a pretty eclectic reader and for me the story is what draws me to the book, regardless of genre. I love PNR, but everything else as well from Jack Reacher to the Cynsters to Acheron. I just need you writers to keep writing and I’ll be happy.
