From now (10 am pacific) until 1 pm pacific I’m going to be here at the blog taking questions so if you have them – now’s the time to ask!
I’m going to put new questions at the top and add them as they come through the comments. I had a few in the comments to the announcement post so let me answer those first!
Alex asks: Who are you currently reading?
I’m currently reading Chloe Neill’s BITING BAD
Which has been the easiest book to write?
Hm, they’re all difficult in some way! Of all my books I think MAKING CHASE was probably the book that gave me the least trouble.
Meka asks: You are one of my favorite authors and Giving Chase is one of my comfort reads. What are a few books that are your comfort reads?
I have several so it depends on my mood – but these are next to my bed: Naked In Death by JD Robb, Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie, Dune by Frank Herbert, Carnal Innocence by Nora Roberts, After the Night by Linda Howard, Dreaming of You by Lisa Kleypas
Nancy asks: What is your favorite part to write about? Ex.characters meeting for the first time…
It’s different in every book and every group of characters! Sometimes it’s the firsts – the meetings, the kisses, the I love yous. Other times it’s a fight or a some big bleak moment. Every book is like a new place to visit so it’s all about getting to know that story and those characters!
Erin asks: You teased on Twitter about getting exciting news while on vacation that would have to wait to be shared and I wondered if that was the Hurley brothers books announcement? What determines when you can let your readers in on new contracts/books? Is it publisher set? When you sign the contract?
Yes, it was the Hurley Brothers sale 🙂 As for when I can announce? I don’t want to announce until it’s clear the sale is going forward. When I was on vacation there were still a few things being worked out so I didn’t want to say anything for certain until that last bit was taken care of. Sometimes I do wait until the contract is in my hands. Other times it’s usually a matter of waiting until everyone at the publisher is ready and my agent and I are also sure the contract is a done deal. It would suck to announce something that falls through later.
Tee asks: Hi!! I love your books. I’m reading “Beneath the Skin,” I love Renee & her two mates & I love Erin, Tom & Ben’s relationship in your ” Brown Siblings Series,” are there similar relationships in some of your other books? If not will there be in the future?
In the Delicious Series (a spin off from the Brown Family Novels) TART is a menage book, UNDERCOVER, the first in my Federation Chronicles is a menage, as is CAPTIVATED, the 5th book in the series. Paranormal romance wise – Triad, Thrice United, Threat of Darkness in my Witches Knot series and Tri Mates in the Cascadia Wolves series are menages (but part of a series so they’re not really standalone). There is at least one menage scene in all of the Cascadia Wolves books except for Wolf Unbound, as well.
Next year I’ll be staring a new series that will be all menages – All That Remains is the first story in the series and it will be in the MARKED anthology out in February.
Angie asks: How do you keep everything straight? You write so many wonderful books but I also know there is so much more to it than just the writing. How do you keep everything together and still remain sane?
I’m a ruthless scheduler and I still miss stuff. I’m HORRIBLE about mailing things (which is one of the many reasons I love my assistant so much because she’s much better at it). I have pretty much the next 18 months planned out – what my deadlines are, what is coming out, if I’ve got reissues, what I should be writing, etc. The promotion is something that has to be done all the time so what changes is the title, but with so many things coming out all the time, it’s always in the background.
Kim and Elizabeth ask: Do you plan on writing anymore books to follow Ascension and Fire and Rain?
I’m always happy to hear people enjoyed the books, but no, I’m done with that series and that world.
Maureen asks: Will there be any more books in the Federation/Phantom Corps series?
I do plan to write Wil and Deimos’ books in the future, yes. I don’t know exactly when, because right now my schedule is pretty tight through the fall of next year, but the books are definitely in my long term plans.
Christine asks: Is there any project in the works to write about the other Warner Brothers besides Jonah?
Through the end of 2015 I have the Hurley Boys and the Ink and Chrome series – but in 2016 and beyond, yes, eventually I do want to write about the rest of Levi and Jonah’s siblings 🙂
Will we get to see Daisy & Levi get married & Mary Damien in any of the future books?
At this point, no. I don’t have any plans for books that would follow closely so I don’t have any place to put the wedding scenes.
Melanie asks: Are you planning on writing any follow up stories on your backlist books: Second Chances/Believe or Dix and Kate from Taking Care of Business/No Reservations?
Not in the next two years, no. If I ever get an idea for those characters I totally would.
Brandy asks: Are you planning to go to NW Bookfest this year?
I have to say I’ve never heard of it! If I was invited, I probably would, but at this point, I’ve pretty much locked in my travel and business stuff for 2013

You replied to Meka about your “comfort reads”, and 3 of the books you listed would be on my list too. After the Night, Welcome to Temptation, and Naked in Death are some of my favorites that I to to over and over to feel good. Your Chase Brothers and Brown Siblings books are part of that group too. You are one of my favorite authors!
