From the start, I’d always imagined a tatted up, dark haired dude with a great beard and mustache. And then I saw a photoshoot with Dimitris Alexandrou and I was like, WELL HELLO DAMIEN HURLEY!

For Mary, I had seen this shoot of Olivia Wilde with her hair very curly and I thought hey wow, that’s my Mary!

I listened to a lot of Kings Of Leon when I wrote this book (and a lot of Lykke Li) I suppose in some ways the Followills remind me of the Hurleys 😉
