Just a general check in! A little over a week until I travel down to Anaheim for the RWA National Conference. Always a great time to see my friends and meet new ones. I’m doing the Literacy Signing on Wednesday the 25th from 5 – 8 (Table 803!!) at the Anaheim Convention Center. Then I’m going to be in a really wonderful workshop:
Alternative Romance Goes Mainstream with Suzanne Brockmann, K.A. Mitchell, Lauren Dane, Heather Osborn, Kim Baldwin and Radclyffe, moderated by Sarah Frantz
Presentation Date: Thursday, July 26
Presentation Time: 9:45 AM – 10:45 AM
Room: Platinum 3“This lively panel of best-selling, award-winning authors, editors, and publishers from both print and digital houses will discuss how and why they write and publish books that include gay, lesbian, and bisexual main characters. They will offer craft tips unique to writing about these relationships, explaining why they write in or publish this subgenre, how is it different from writing heterosexual couples, and how, when, and why they incorporate characters with alternate sexualities into their mainstream romance series. They will also discuss frankly what the market for these books is, where writers should send their submissions, what sales numbers are like, who the audience is, and how these are books received by readers and reviewers. The panelists will respond to the moderator’s guided questions and in the last fifteen minutes, will open the floor for audience questions.”
I’ll also be at the Samhain publisher signing on 7/27 3 – 4:30 and the Berkley Publisher signing on Saturday 7/28 from 9 – 10:30 – the workshop and publisher signings are available for those who’ve registered for the conference only so I hope to see you all there!
Otherwise – this weekend I finished a synopsis for the follow up to Goddess With A Blade and the synopsis/backstory for Raven’s book (Delicious book 4) which I’m calling Constant (for the time being). I’ll start in earnest tomorrow after I’ve mapped the book out a bit more. After I’ve doing all the backstory sketch, I’m pretty sure writing this book is going to make me bleed so I want to be really careful with pacing. I’m really excited about both books!
I started watching Sons Of Anarchy while I was on the exercise bike and I’m now a full blown addict. I finished with season two yesterday. Season three should arrive today (I hope so because OH NO BABY ABEL!!) What an amazingly scripted and acted show. I’m totally blown away by the writing and acting – especially Katey Sagal who, oh my god, really kicks ass in that role. SO much stuff under the surface with her. I adore Gemma.
That’s about it for now. I’ve got to get finished with the polish of this synopsis so I can get it sent off to my editor. Have a good Monday!

Oh, I’ve been looking at that series. I’m glad to know you like it–our tastes are quite similar based on what you’ve shared over the years.
Have fun at the signings and workshop!
