I’ve been getting this question a lot lately so I thought I’d, you know, answer it, LOL.
The Petal, Georgia series is a spin off from my Chase Brothers books and the first one is Once and Again, Nathan Murphy’s book. The books will be, of course, set in Petal, the same town the Chase books are set in. When the books are about the Murphy’s you can assume you’ll at the very least see glimpses of the Chases as Tate and Matt are married and there’s a lot of crossover there.
After I finish this book I’m writing now it’s my plan to finish the proposal for Beth Murphy’s book, which will follow Once and Again – and to get it to my editor at Samhain. Right now I’ve got two active series with Samhain and if I can do the scheduling right, I’d like to see a book out every 10 months or so and that would alternate between my de La Vega Cats series and the Petal books.
Tentatively I’m thinking the series will be 4 books and the first two books are about Murphys but I don’t know just yet about the next two just yet. This is something I’ll be working out when I get the proposal for Beth’s book written.
They’ll be sensual romance like the Chase books and it’s my aim that they all be long enough to go to print as well.
Um, I think that’s all I know but if you have any more questions just fire away in the comments and I’ll do my best to answer.
Christine asked: Any clue as to whose book will come out after Gibson? Also any chance that a ebook is coming out btw. Heart of Darkness and Captivated?
I don’t know who I’ll write next after Gibson at this point but you’ll be meeting some of his people in his book so one of them in particular, Dario is appealing to me at the moment.
Gibson’s book will definitely be out in digital. In fact it goes digital first and then 10 months to a year later it’ll go to print. As for Heart of Darkness and Captivated, I’d assume yes because all my Berkley books have been so far. They usually don’t show up for pre-order until far closer to the release date though.

I can’t wait for the new series, I’ve been rereading the Chase brothers and the Brown sibilings waiting for the new books to come out =) Congrats on hitting the NYT bestsellers list. Did your hubby do anything special for you??? π

Oooh, are we going to get to hear Gibson de La Vega’s story soon??? Pretty please?? I loved the Chase brothers, and the de la Vega’s too, but the Brown siblings and the Cascadia wolves Kindle titles are really pricey. But I’ll keep checking my local library e-books. Not giving up on them yet! π

Rachel – thank you! I haven’t hit the NYT, not yet anyway. I hit the USA Today list for Taking Chase π The dude brought home roses and we had champagne and Thai food!
Louise – I’ve sent the proposal to my editor so if she likes it, I’m hoping to see Beneath the Skin (Gibson’s book) out next year. As for expensive? I guess I disagree that my Cascadia books are expensive for Kindle – the Samhain ones anyway. They’re all under 5 dollars except for the early ones from EC, which I do agree are far too expensive. I’m always so happy to see Samhain keeping their books so reasonably priced!

Yay for Gibson’s story. So excited about that!!
After looking at Samhain’s site I see that it just Amazon that has the e-books priced way above the paperback price. Guess I’ll be shopping for these books directly from Samhain. π Thanks for pointing that out! Off to add more LD books to my Kindle.

Louise – at amazon the paper version of Standoff is 9.77, Kindle 4.24, Wolf Unbound paper 11.05 and Kindle is 4.24, Trinity paper 10.95, kindle 4.40 – etc. All the Samhain books at Amazon are at least 4 or 5 dollars cheaper for Kindle if they’re novel length. As I said, the EC books are far more expensive, though they are cheaper at their site I believe. Hope this helps. π

Are you going to write any more Chase novels, ever? Alex was only sentenced to 7 years for stalking Maggie, will you continue that story, from what happens when he’s released? Will he go after Maggie again? I’ve read the first three novels in two days, I’m about to start the last. I’m really attached to the Chase family. I hate to see it end…

Enjoyed all of the Chase brothers novels and once and again – petal. Have you thought about bringing Cassie’s brother to Petal to go into practice with Edward and write about him since he is married and hook him up with one of Tate’s sisters?
