Ask em if you’ve got em!
This is one I’ve received several times this month (because Giving Chase is still free for Kindle and Nook folks!) – Are you planning a book about Polly and Edward?
Polly and Edward have a pretty complicated backstory. I do want to write it, but it’s one of those multi-generational books that’s really a heck of a lot about what an amazing woman Polly is. But she didn’t start out the way she is now. There have been some pretty big bumps along her road (keep in mind she was a child during segregation in the South and Edward went to Vietnam as well). So the book is pretty big and while I’ve been sketching it over the years, it’s not time just yet. I truly believe in this story, so it will be something I do when the time is right.
Another frequent question of late When will the next de La Vega book be out?
I’m working on Gibson’s book, Beneath the Skin, right now actually. I’ll be sending that to my editor and if she likes the proposal, we’ll see the book next year.
From here out, the de La Vega books will continue as a series which will focus more on shifter stuff than the witch storyline. They’ve got their own complications and problems to face and solve in a world they’ve come out to. Definitely Carlos and what he’s done has to be dealt with as well.
In the mean time, my Bound By Magick series coming out this fall from Berkley, will be set in the world of clan witches and take up the magickal storyline. In Heart of Darkness (book 1) you’ll see glimpses of some of the characters from my de La Vega and Cascadia Wolves series, which will carry through the series as a whole because it’s set in the same world. The threat from the mages is growing and the books will tell the story of that threat and the people/beings who play a part in defending themselves and their world.
