Ten years ago, Rori Simon left town shy, unattractive and with zero self-esteem. Now she’s back, older, stronger and finally loving herselfโ€”and it shows. Hot men are soon knocking at her door, including Jude Callahan, the bad boy who starred in her teenage daydreams…and her adult fantasies.

Jude can’t believe the sexy, confident woman before him is actually Rori! She’s gotten under his skin like no other woman has…and brings out secret desires he can’t resist. He wants to dominate Rori with every fiber of his being. Wants to own her and pleasure her. To cherish her as he makes her his.

Rori discovers she likes being controlled. She also knows Jude is not a one-woman man. Everything changes when she meets Zach Helm. Edgy, sensual Zach knows just what she needs, and before long, she’s in love. Jude watches them together and wonders if he’s lost his chance forever…

For those curious about such things – as I worked on the book this time out, I totally saw Ryan Kwanten as Jude

And on the True Blood theme, Zach was played by Joe Manganiello in my mental movie

Rori is sort of a mix of different people, she’s very clear in my mind’s eye, but there aren’t any actresses or models I really thought of as I wrote her. But with two men who look like the ones above, that’s all fine too.

Just a little eye candy for your Friday!

Today’s Question: What says sexy to you on a cover and do you have any favorites?

I’ll choose a winner tomorrow morning! Good luck.

As a romance and erotica reader it may sound weird to say this but I really think seeing less skin on a cover is often sexier. Your Brown Siblings covers are the most beautiful in my opinion but they are sexy as well. With the exception of Erin on Laid Bare almost everyone is at least halfway dressed on those covers.

I think the covers for Dirty and Stranger by Megan Hart are very sexy. You can barely see the couples but your imagination fills in all the blanks.

The covers that say sexy to me are usually the ones where there is eye to eye contact between the characters, how they are holding each other, and the coloring of the cover. I love the covers for Laid Bare, Coming Undone, and Inside Out. Bold coloring and awesome tattoos really catch the eye.

I’d also say your books Laid Bare Coming Undone and Inside out are hot. I agree with Rebecca the colors and the tattoos are awesome.

I think another set of books that have sexy covers are Maya Banks Sweet Series. And Shayla Black’s Wicked Lovers Series.

Cover artist do an amazing job of taking a description and making a portrait. I love Tony Mauro and Angie Waters because they usually find interesting models. Models make a cover but also the balance and how the whole cover moves makes it sexy. Some font and lines are just sensual. For me the “cartoon” covers I see will never be sexy and I actually ignore books that use this style.

I don’t know if I ever really pay attention to the covers until after I read the book. I think I want to cover to fit the story and when the artists get the vision the authors have I think that is when the covers end up being sexy. I don’t necessarily need faces but I do like models more than posers.

I love it when publishers give me my beefcake, LOL. While covers with just a woman on them can be beautiful, and completely appropriate for an urban fantasy with a kick-ass heroine, on a romance? I want a clinch or a guy.

YOUR covers have been awesome this way. Good gravy, I still get out Insatiable and pet it every week or so. I also remember a stepback for Virginia Henley’s A Year and a Day that was absolutely gorgeous and evocative. Done by Fortin & Sanders, it was clearly an homage to Dicksee’s La Belle Dame Sans Merci, and if I could get a print of it, I totally would.

I love guys with tattoos. My fav is Inside Out and it isn’t even out yet. Love the vivid color and the couple on the cover.

I also like Lorelie James Branded as Trouble.

Oh, there needs to be some skin, but not all! Like your Browns covers, it leaves something to the imagination.

Interestngly, I also find dramatic colours catchy. Romance covers in soft pinks or baby blues just don’t seem to do it. Give lots of vibrant colour, or a great black-and-white, and I’m more likely to pick the book up and check out the back.

Less skin because it leaves more to the imagination ~ and I have a VERY vivid imagination! Also beefcake looking to the side or slightly showing the face in a shadow. Slight sheen of sweat works well, too. Whew. Just thinking about it… Whew!

I am really loving the bare back right now in covers….male or female. It just seems more risque to me since everyone’s abs and breasts are all over tv and magazines right now. Not to say those male ab covers aren’t quite tasty!

Well my definition of sexy is constantly changing. Sometimes it can be a subtle cover which leaves alot to my imagination and at other times I prefer a heated look btw. the characters on the cover.

I love darker covers without faces. Somehow the face just takes over the characters in the book, and they don’t fit my mental picture. A guy, shirtless with blue jeans unbuttoned, sitting low, face in shadow, jawline visible with a little stubble, laid out on a bed…excuse me, I need a cold shower now ๐Ÿ˜†

What says sexy to me on a cover is a hot guy showing his abs or his back and tight backside or a couple in a passionate embrace.

A guy shirtless is great anytime. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Like Insatiable. WOW that is a great cover. Oh and if there is a character that has some sort of marking or tattoo I like to see that as well. I have to say that the ‘tattoo’ on the cover of Inside Out is amazing. First I find tatoo’s incredibly sexy but I like to see the artwork that may be described in the book. I find that image just as sexy as the bare chested one on Insatiable.

I love the sexy male half naked covers, especially your cover for Insatiable, so hot!

I find small aspects of covers sexy. On Megan Hart’s Naked, I think the way the woman is clutching the sheet makes the scene sexy. Another favorite of mine is Maya Bank’s Sweet Persuasion, its shown through a purple filter, and so you get more of an indication of the scene that anything else. Of course the half naked guy cover is always welcome, Insatiable makes my mouth water!!!

I have to admit I usually love the military romantic suspense covers with the shirtless heroes on the cover! Jaci Burton has a new book coming out with a football hero – The Perfect Play – that cover is smokin! I thought Inside Out’s cover with the back tattoo was pretty eye catching, as well.

Might seem strange but now that I think of it I have a bit of a hand obsession. On a cover the hands are what draw me first so I guess hand placement and how sexy man’s hands are. Who knew…A gratuitous ab shot doesn’t hurt either.

I think it’s sexy when the hero/heroine are locked together in some kind of pose on the cover. Like Your cover for Inside Out. I think it’s very romantic ๐Ÿ™‚

First I have to say you don’t have to enter me into the contest because I recently purchased Second Chances and must say I love that story and wish I had those men in mind when I read the book.

Now, what draws me to a cover is sometimes the connection of the story to the book when it’s part of a series. I always love your covers and I have to say I’ve loved the covers of Larissa Ione’s Demonica Series, the arm tatoos were great. I love Maya Banks Sweet series covers as well and I also love the way Lora Leigh always has a picture of the animal integrated in her Breed series covers.

I don’t check out covers but I have to say that man candy you showed s today would all be acceptable. I prefer a cover with both characters represented myself.

Those are some great inspirations and ones I would pick too. I like covers with handsome men on them. Jaci Burton has lucked out lately with her sports themed books and gotten covers that give me heat flashes. I love them and want to buy them just so I can drool in peace.

sexy to me is in the eyes if it’s a man by himself. I love my book candy to be facing me because I want all his goodness and eyes are big with me. Shirtless is a plus with some nice well defined muscles, but I’ve seen lots of hottness with shirts on. Eyes are huge and my favorite is Enemy Lover by Karin Harlow. I can get lost just looking at that cover ๐Ÿ™‚

haha I got so excited by the True Blood hotties that I didn’t pay attention to the question! lol ๐Ÿ˜ณ

I like to see the guys abs and maybe a guy holding onto a hot chick. I love bright colors too. Tattoos tend to draw me in as well.

I’d rather the book cover told a story. I don’t necessary need or want beefcake on my covers. I know some people get embarrassed with those but I wouldn’t

Sexy for me is understated, with clean lines and deep, dark colors. Too bright and it reminds me of chick lit *shudder*, too revealing and I assume it’s all erotica.
