Today’s spotlight is on a dear friend who also happens to be a wicked talented author – ANYA BAST!
This year, she started a new series: Dark Enchantment centered on the Fae. This series is dark and delicious and I really love it. Today she’s giving away a copy of book one, WICKED ENCHANTMENT to one lucky winner.
When you’re a half incubus, your reputation precedes you…
All eyes are on Gabriel Mac Braire the day he makes his first appearance in the Seelie Court, including those of Aislinn Finvarra. Despite deep bitterness over her last failed relationship, Aislinn cannot help but be curious about the half incubus who is known to possess dark magick, both lethal and sexual in nature. Rumors abound of the women who have become enslaved to his irresistible charms.
So when the Summer Queen of the fae orders Aislinn herself to act as his guide in the court, she is understandably on guard. She’s fallen under the spell of far less persuasive men before. In addition, Gabriel might be more than he seems and his true mission is far from innocent.
This time, Aislinn must protect not only her heart, but her very life…

Oh! In September, the next book, Cruel Enchantment comes out
– here’s the blurb:
Even the most powerful hands need a delicate touch…
Emmaline Gallagher is a master of wielding personal glamour. As a free fae who lives among humans, she must hide her true self at all times as she works undercover within the powerful Phaendir—for if certain factions within the Phaendir gain control, the fae will be wiped from existence. Now, an object of fae power lies within a locked ancient box. And there is only one fae who can forge the key.
Known as “the Blacksmith” Aeric O’Malley can create or destroy almost anything with his forging skills. Emmaline has come to him in need, but he and Emmaline have a past—and he has spent centuries wanting to take revenge on her for her transgressions. But now that he has her within his grasp, something about her keeps him from exacting his vengeance—or is it merely her glamour blinding him?
Trapped by fate, Emmaline must hope that she can reach Aeric’s furious heart before it’s too late….

Today’s question: what is your idea of a romantic evening? Dinner at a fancy place? A ballgame? A movie?
The winner will be posted at Tracy’s blog tomorrow!

It may not be the most romantic but one of the best dates I’ve ever had was bowling. Let me just say I am totally crappy at bowling (I tend to fall) but it was a fun night.

For me it would be dinner and dancing. Every year on our anniversary we would go to the same place and they would have a small band and we would dance it was really romantic.

I love when guys take me to my favorite sports teams. Phillies, Flyers, and other games then taking me home to chill afterwards.

My idea of a romantic evening is ditching the kids at a sitters and snuggling with my husband on the couch while watching a movie.

I think romance depends on the other person. Even something not really romantic can be romantic if that person makes it so. I personally love personal programs, when the other person gives that program some thought, so it’s not some basic romantic programme cliché. I loved it when my boyfriend took me on a picnic in the park. It was simple and so wonderful.

Oh wow, my idea of a romantic evening is completely different…. I have not had a “true” romantic evening with my hubs. He is not that type, lol. But if I had it my way, lol….
We would just spend the day together. Whatever we did, where ever we went… we would be together… we would talk… we would kiss… we would really connect with each other.
Thanks for the chances!

I would love to have a night with no kids, a nice dinner, and a walk afterwards. Simple but meaningful.
Probably won’t happen for at least another 5 years, but who knows! 😆

Romantic evening…
I think a fire by the lake while the sun sets would be nice. Then we would go inside and watch movies on the couch together with some coco. I also love stormy nights on the couch, watching movies. As long as we’re together!
Thanks, I LOVE Anya Bast. 🙂

Going out to dinner is nice and all, but I think I would prefer it if my guy organized this whole romantic dinner at home… you know, where HE cooks the food… for once

I love it when a guy cooks for me and afterwards we sit and talk for a while and watch movies.

A romantic evening for me involves a view of the water, a soft breeze, comfortable clothes, soft lighting and my lover by my side.

I think a dinner that you don’t have to cook is very romantic. Whether it be at a fancy restaurant or a hamburger joint, it can still be romantic. Then a movie is great after. or rent a movie and take it home and make your own popcorm.

I love the times hubby and I can get away for dinner out, just the 2 of us. Doesn’t matter where we go. Then we might go and get a coffee and sit outside listening to music at one of the local coffee houses. Of course I think it is kind of romantic when he takes me to the bookstore….he knows how much I love books and I know he would prefer to do something different so I feel very special when he does that! 🙂

It really depends on the mood. I love cuddling on the couch, dinner & a movie, or a surprise picnic. Simple sometimes is the best thing.

My idea of a romantic evening is the two of us doing something together that we both like to do, whether that’s reading, having dinner(in or out), walking the beach, or just watching a favorite TV show.

To me it really doesn’t matter where we are as long as we are together. So it can be romantic sitting at home watching a movie or going out to our favorite restaurant!!
June 30th, 2010 at 7:44 pm · Link
Personally if I put something in my head as to what I want and expect something to be it always ends up falling short. I find the best things are the ones we least expect. For Valentines Day one year right after my daughter was born I came home from work to my house filled with little cut out pics of my husband and my daughter along with balloons and flowers. We had mac&cheese by candlelight and I could never imagine anything better. So my idea of a perfect romantic evening is accepting the unexpected and appreciating it for all it is worth.

A nice dinner at a local restaurant followed by a movie is something I enjoy; but staying home making a nice meal, followed by a rented movie and a nice bottle of wine suits us just fine too.

A quiet dinner and a movie, doesnt have to be super expensive but not fast food either and the movie can be rented.

I find it is more romantic when we go out. The place and setting don’t matter, what does is that we get away from home where there are too many other distractions.

For me, a romantic evening is any time the sitter is available, we can afford her, and we get out for a date night. 🙂
