Today’s book is Anya’s WITCH FIRE – an awesome start to her Elemental Witches series! Don’t forget to go over to Anya’s blog to check out which of my books she’s giving away today!
Mira Hoskins doesn’t know she’s a natural born witch who possesses the rare—and powerful—element of air. She also never expected to find herself tied to a mahogany bed frame, captive to a man who aches to fulfill her every desire and let loose the magick that dwells inside her…
Heat emanates from elemental fire witch Jack McAllister. The Coven, a governing authority of witches, has sent him to protect Mira from a band of warlocks who drain witches of power… and life. Long ago, he saw Mira’s parents murdered by this same dark magick. He’d like to quell his guilt and offer her everything she deserves. But she’s the long-lost cousin of his boss—making seduction off-limits.
With Jack’s strong guidance, Mira is luring forth her inner magick. But his sense of duty is quickly swelling into insatiable hunger. They warned him about the natural attraction between air and fire. Now he risks being consumed by the woman he shouldn’t want—but can’t stay away from …
DAILY QUESTION: This wasn’t showing up in the original so the first comments (22 and under) get a pass – everyone else please tell me one book you’d love to see made into a movie and who you think would be perfect in the lead roles!

Hi! Is there no question today? Maybe I just don’t see it 🙂
December 29th, 2009 at 4:28 am · Link
Nope, I am not seeing any question either…
So I will just answer one of my own, that I prefer werewolves to vamps these days 😉

I love both werewolves and vamps as long as I get my alpha hero and kick-ass heroine! :o)

Well, I’ve always tried to get my nose to wiggle like Samantha on Bewitched. It hasn’t worked yet. It’s a shame, so many things I could do with a twitchy nose.

I haven’t had a chance to read this series yet, so I would love to start.

Since there is no question I will answer blodeuedd and say I prefer werewolves to vamps too.

Witches you say? Making Mrs. Zombie answer some of these questions too. Would make sense to grab books she would be more inclined to read as well.

Anya write wonderful stories.

I have Witch Heart in the TBR and I’m itching to read that! I realize it’s not the first book, and though I normally like reading a series in sequence, I have no choice as I can’t find the others in the bookstore. 🙁
December 29th, 2009 at 8:46 am · Link
Sounds like my kind of series!

I can’t find a question so not sure what you want me to do so i will comment on the fact that this book is about witches. I have never put seduction & witches in the same sentence before & never thought i would but i have to admit because of this i am very intrigued by this book & desperately want to read it.
Thanks for running an amazing giveaway
Good Luck to all who enter xx

Thanks for the intro to Anya’s series! This sounds like a terrific start!

I hate to see any book made into a movie – it looses too much in translation.
December 29th, 2009 at 9:40 am · Link
Oh, goodie, I guess I’m the first one to see the question! I can’t wait for Nora Robert’s Bride Quartet to be made into movies, but I’d like some young actors this time, because Heather Locklear was just not believable as Reese in Angel Falls.

I’m not really huge on books being made into movies because so much of the book gets lost in the process or they change the endings or key elements.
Not to say some books-to-movies aren’t good, just that I prefer some of them not be made.

I would love to see any of Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter series made into a movie. Although, it would be very hard to find someone for the part of Ash because my expectations would be very high.

I hate to see my favorite books made into movies because they are usually just so awful (anyone remember Clan of the Cave Bear – ugh!).
It is inevitable that things from the book will get cut or changed and that just ruins it for me. The only exception I can think of is The Notebook – I liked the movie ending better than the book.

I’m always nervous about favourite books being turned into films – I’m rarely happy with the result even if I think the film is quite good in its own right.
On the other hand I often really like films of books I didn’t think were so great. (but I won’t name them :0)

I have several that I’d love to see as a movie, but right now I think Shelly Laurenston’s Magnus/Pride books would be good, or a good dragon shifter story.
I try not to pick a real person to visualize in those roles. That way if and when it ever does make it as a movie, I’m not disappointed with the choice they made.

I’d like to see Karen M. M.’s Fever series on the big screen. That would be quite an adult ride! 😉
December 29th, 2009 at 11:14 am · Link
Oh I forgot! I think I would like to see Charisma Carpenter in the lead role. The guys would have to be unknowns.
December 29th, 2009 at 11:17 am · Link
I would like to see the Dark Hunter series on the big screen. Its by S.Kenyon.

I would love to see anya’s elemental witch series made into movies. these r my favorite books! no lie i luv them i read them all the time…
idk who for the lead roles but of course someone just like the discription in the books. like it would be so awesome if they could use the girls on the covers as the actresses… these would be my new favorite movies i always think of it as a movie how awesome it would be… Maybe someday it will happen…

I agree with most of the responses. Good books do not normally translate well onto the big screen. One of the exceptions is Interview With a Vampire, and the reason it succeeded was because Anne Rice was involved with erevy step of the process.
That said, I would love to see Kenyon or Ward on the big screen.

I would love to see the BDB on the big screen, but I don’t know who I would cast.
December 29th, 2009 at 11:58 am · Link
I would love to see Jeaniene Frost
‘s Night Huntress be made into a movie, as for the actors, I’m not sure.
December 29th, 2009 at 12:05 pm · Link
I would love to see the Anita Blake series on movie, but im not really sure for the actors, since we all have different views of the same characters.

I would LOVE one of my novels to be made into a movie, but I guess I’d need to sell one first huh? So instead, I would love to see FULL MOON RISING by Keri Arthur turned into a movie. Most of the characters I’m not sure about, but I definitely see Rip Torn playing Riley’s boss, Jack.

I think Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changeling series would be awesome to see on the big screen…but only if the fx department was top-notch. I’d rather have up-and-coming actors than well-known ones cast.
December 29th, 2009 at 12:28 pm · Link
I agree with many of the answers, I’d love to see some of my favorites series, Dark-Hunters or BDB or Psy/Changeling but it’s very hard to find actors.
December 29th, 2009 at 12:47 pm · Link
I would probably choose the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning, but I don’t have very clear who could be the actors.

You know, I really don’t like to see too many of my favorite books put into a movie; I think too much is lost in translation and on top of that, the hotties I see in my mind are always different from the ones selected…
December 29th, 2009 at 1:44 pm · Link
Karen Marie Moning fever
JB would be played by Gerry Butler
V’lane played by Jason Lewis
Mac would be played by Hayden Panettiere or Kriten Bell…..

Like to see Witch Fire made into movie with Hugh Jackman and Hilary Swank in the leading roles of Mira Hoskins and Jack McAllister. I think this would make one kick A.. movie.. I may be old but I am not dead….LOL
In fact using the same actors could make Witch Fury into a movie. It would be hot,.,

This series is on my TBR list! I think the technology is finally good enough to make some of my paranormal romance favorites into good movies, depending of course on the writing and directing! (Alan Ball has done a good job with Charlene Harris’s books) So I’ll say I’d like to see Mercy Thompson from Patricia Briggs “Moon Called” come to life on the big screen. I can’t think of casting, but I’d know her if I saw her!
Happy New Year!

I am not good at this but i will say Ransom by Julie GArwood, starring Cameran Diaz and Sean Connery

Though I love Josh Lanyon’s Adrien English series, I can’t imagine who could play the 2 main characters….
Sorry!
