Today’s book is part of Anya’s fabulous Elemental Witches series – WITCH FURY!

Sarafina Connell is having the worst week of her life. It takes an even darker turn when an infamous playboy kidnaps her and reveals a world she never knew existed….

It’s a world where magick is real, and where Sarafina is given a chance to join a secret cabal that is bent on gaining absolute power. They could use a woman like her—a witch with an untapped gift for creating fire. But she isn’t about to get in league with the devil.

Rescued from her captors, Sarafina is introduced to a coven that is duty-bound to fight the forces of darkness. She’s pleased that her savior is the imposingly seductive Theo—until the trust between them goes up in flames. However, as the war between good and evil is waged, Sarafina and Theo realize they have no choice but to unite in the battle for supremacy—that’s getting hotter by the minute.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: What was the first romance novel you ever read?

I’ll choose a winner via random.org and post it first thing tomorrow. WINNERS HAVE SEVEN DAYS TO CLAIM THEIR PRIZES!

Do Sweet Valley High novels count as romance? Late primary school I started on them – and probably didn’t quit reading them as early as I should have. I think SVH: Senior Year was trying to be edgy, but it just didn’t work for me. But the original series was fabulous 😀

As for which specific novel in the series I read first? Haven’t the foggiest. I know that The Fowlers of Sweet Valley was the first one that I BOUGHT, though I may have read library copies before then…

I remember being captivated by Mary Stewart’s gothic romances way back when. The Moon-Spinners had me devouring every book she released. I think that 1st one was also a moving starring Haley Mills.

My first memorable romance was the Sleeping Beauty trilogy from Anne Rice (when I was still a virgin), Oh what an eye opener. It was a long time before I was willing to read any thing else. I was embarrassed for days. LOL.

I traded in my Nancy Drew and Little House on the Parrie books for my mother’s Harlequin and Silhoutte books – secretly, of course!

I only read my first romance novel this year! I’ve an avid reader of scifi/horror/fantasy/urban fantasy so my romance choice was Crux by Moira Rogers. I’ve since read other romance novels along the same genre.

    Thanks,

    Amanda

I can’t remember the name or title, but I do remember that it was an old harlequin. The cover had a handsome man and a beautiful blond woman (don’t they all, lol) and the title was something about a Carolina summer. I was probably 6 or 7 and was hooked!

I can’t remember which was first…the Clan of the Cave Bear books or A Rose in Winter by Kathleen Woodiwiss. I will claim the Woodiwiss since it definitely is more romance traditional. I haven’t looked back and still demand a HEA in most all my books and movies!

It’s been so long I’m not sure I can remember the first romance I ever read.

I seem to vaguely remember it being one by Barbara Cartland about a white haired heroine and a dark haired Lord was the hero (but there again weren’t they all like that? LOL)

I’ve only been reading romance recently. My first was Twilight, if that counts, then my co-worker recommended Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Night Hunters – OMG what a difference!!! (and that was the beginning of the end for me – I’m hopelessly hooked on romance!)

I started reading serialized romances in teen magazines. There was a really long one about a group of girls starting out as models.

Then I moved onto women’s magazines and my favourite was set in the 18th century – the heroine kept giving her suitors apoplexy!

After that there was Lace and The Thorn Birds, not really romances but not too distant.

Well I am not sure if “Sweet Surrender” by Kimberly Zant counts as “romance” or more “eroticia” but that was my first. I won the book during an all girls weekend event. It was fabulous.
