It’s Mother’s Day today. The sun is out, the kids are not fighting at this very moment and my husband is cleaning the kitchen. Awesome. Oh and godiva chocolate… Supergood awesome. Mother’s Day wishes for you and yours as well.

Phoned my mom earlier to wish her a happy day. I’m so fortunate to have been raised by a woman like my mother. Strong, loving, funny, tenacious – my mom is the best and I hope I make it clear to her how much I love and appreciate all the work she did along with my dad. Happy Mother’s Day, Mom.

I was going to write this long entry about mothering and being mothered and how much who and how we’re nurtured shapes who we are – but maybe another day.

For today, I think I’ll read and let my family wait on me for the rest of the day.
