Today’s book is Cynthia Eden’s IMMORTAL DANGER!

Being Bullet Proof Sucks—Literally

Once, Maya Black was a kick-ass cop patrolling the streets of L.A. She still keeps the city safe, but nowadays her bad guys of choice include demons, werewolves, and assorted nocturnal scum. Something Maya knows a thing or two about. She’s a vampire—and not thrilled about it. Payback meet bitch.

Adam Brody hopes Maya is as dangerous as they say she is. He needs her to help rescue his niece Cammie from a ruthless band of vamps, and he’s willing to pay—in blood. Trusting her is another matter. Adam has never met a vampire who doesn’t lie. Then again, he’s never met anyone like Maya, who fills him with a desperate need that ignites into explosive, no-holds-barred encounters…

You can read reviews and an excerpt at Cynthia’s site!

Winners will be announced somewhat later than normal tomorrow since I’ll be traveling for RT. I’ll check in when I arrive and should be announcing in the evening, eastern time. Winners have seven days to claim their prize, after which, I’ll re-draw.

It’s tough to choose just one. I guess it would be Sascha Duncan in Nalini Singh’s Slave to Sensation. She makes a difficult decision to help Lucas even though she is sure she won’ make it through the ordeal. She is tender and warm and has a sense of humor.

It is hard to choose just one!
I guess I’d say Isobel Lambert from Anne Stuart’s Ice Storm, because she transformed from a naive, young victim into a ballsy, kick-ass leader of a covert spy agency. I was really intrigued by her character throughout Stuart’s previous Ice novels and was really glad when she got her own story.

I’ve just recently started to read the Stephanie Plum series so I would pick her. She is a great character who is lots of fun and can kick some butt if needed!

Molly Somerville from This Heart of Mine by Susan E. Phillips. Because despite all the trouble she has to endure (miscarriage, no so loving husband, successful sister, etc.) she finds a way to be happy. She’s also unselfish and caring and an artist – she writes and paints children books, great job!

    Elizabeth Bennet 😀
Why, well I love her, so is witty and smart, and she gets her man in the end

    Oh man, I don’t have one!!!/wail

I adore Eve Dallas, from J.D.Robb’s In Death books, and Jax from Ann Aguirre’s Grimspace books, but there are so many…

Sugar Beth Carey from Susan Elizabeth Phillip’s Ain’t She Sweet? is one of my favorite heroines by her, but by no means the only one.

I also really like Mary Ellen O’Rourke from Sharon Sala’s The Way to Yesterday

Ellie Dinsmore, from LaVyrle Spencer’s Morning Glory and Louise [Low Down] Downe from Maggie Osborne’s Silver Lining are probably closer to be my all time favorites but… well, I cannot choose!

Either Eve from the In Death series or Alex from Lynn Viehl’s Darkyn series

I second azteclady. Literally, I read the question, and thought Oh crap. Haha, I can’t pick one! Um… one of my favorite heroines I recently read is Elle Varner from Smooth Talking Stranger. Otherwise… Gracie Snow from Heaven, Texas. (By SEP). I LOVE how she rejects Bobby Tom because she deserves better – a man that truly loves her.
Also, Minerva, in Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie because she really gives Cal a run for his money. Haha, I’ll stop before I add more.

Mercy Thompson! She’s not afraid to kick the guys’ around, she doesn’t let them push her into a decision, and she’s unapologetically tomboyish. She’d be my best friend if she were real. lol

Sabine, Sorceress of Illusions from Kresley Cole’s Kiss Of The Demon King. Why? Because she is awesome. I love this character she is so funny and her and Rydstrom together, well they are just perfect. The way the both try to get over on one another.

I think that Jessica Trent from lord of Scoundrels is a great heroine. She puts up with Dain and gives his crap right back to him on a plate. But when he needs love and tenderness, she’s right there to give that to him as well.

Have a great week, Lauren! See ya when I get back from vacation.

Hands down it would be “Claire” from Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series. She is a GREAT female character. She’s strong, and independant, and has to make some very difficult choices after traveling back in time to Scotland. I love this series and “Jamie” is my all time fav male hero. Just thinking about them makes me excited for the newest installment (2 years in the making) that comes out later this fall.
This series literally made me need a new prescription in my glasses after devouring them in such a short period of time (eye strain), considering how mammoth her books usually are.

This is such a hard question, so I’ve decided to narrow it down to my favorite Lauren Dane heroine. Grace from Standoff is my pick. She has overcome enormous adversity, and risks her life in order to do the right thing. She is quiet, but is not afraid to stand up for herself. I think she’s a great heroine.

I have so many favorites, usually all are strong, independent, tough when they need to be, and loving and loyal to their friends and love partner.

My very favorite is Eve Dallas. It’s fascinating to watch her softer side slowly emerge as her love for Roarke gets stronger.

I agree with everyone that this is an impossible question! I will name one but know that I have more that I could have named…

Recently, I like Kate Daniels from Ilona Andrews Magic series.

I think for example Soteria from Acheron is a good heroine. She was a perfect match for Ash. He really needed a girl like her to be beside him, to comfort him, to love him.

Claire Beauchamp Fraser from Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series. She doesn’t just wail about what’s going to happen (and to her it’s history, she knows what’s going to happen), she just gets to work on making the best of things

Georgeanne Howard from Simply Irresistible by Rachel Gibson. She had such a tough life but never complained and persevered.

Jessica Trent from Lord of Scoundrels, she stands right up to Dain and gives right back at him, yet also understands him so she can handle his moods and let him respect himself

Romance heroine? The first name that pops into mind is Tabitha Deveraux from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s dark hunter series.

I just loved her personality, the way she did things, and seen things. It just made me want to be her.

My fantasy heroine I like would have to be a tie between Mercedes Lackey’s Tamra and kethry (sorry had to get those in there)

Oh man, I don’t really have ONE so I’ll select one of my favorites. Tori McAdams from Shiloh Walker’s Hunter’s series. She is really tough even before she’s changed into a unique mega tough vampire. Plus she gets not one but two hunky men!

Currently Aisling Grey from the series by Katie MacAlister. I think it’s because she has all of this weird stuff happening to her and the way she keeps it together is through her sense of humor.

My favorite character…which is a hard choice…would have to be Mercy Thompson. She just seems so down to earth, but she is also a kick ass kind of girl. Who does not love a girl who is willing to a little grease under her fingernails, but still is feminine.
