I kicked butt this weekend on Coming Undone, managing to get in 10K words! Yay!!! So I’m nearly done now, my plan is to type “the end” on Wednesday, leaving me time to get through a second draft and some crit before sending it off to my editor at Berkley. This story is a pretty simple, straighforward contemporary. No car crashes although there is a past Elise, my heroine, has to contend with, it’s still really, at heart, about two people who fall in love then they’re not expecting it.
I did manage to read some books lately (the last few weeks): the new JD Robb – Promises In Death, which, I gotta say, is awesome. The new Briggs, Bone Crossed – also awesome. Briggs handles Mercy’s time after her assault with a subtle hand. Very well done. Mortal Sins the newest Lupi book from Eileen Wilks kept me glued to the pages, I love the world she’s created and I can’t wait for the next one. Carrie Vaughn’s Kitty and The Dead Man’s Hand was a clever little entry in her Kitty series with Kitty and Ben in Vegas to get married, but you know how complicated Kitty’s life is, so there’s all sorts of mayhem! Also on the werewolf front, I read JL Langley’s With Caution. Loved her twist on wolves, the balance of story and sex was just right. She’s got a voice I love reading too. Lastly, but not least in any way – read SEP’s newest, What I Did For Love and loved it. I love SEP and her characters, who are never boring.
I’m sneaking in a page or two here and there of the new Hollows book and not surprisingly, am digging it. I also have Mark Henry’s newest, Road Trip of The Living Dead and the next Kitty book. I don’t think I’ll get much reading done in March as I have two books due this month, but I’m gonna try!
Other than that, I’m writing, dealing with kids and husband and getting ready for RT. Wheee, RT!
