Day One (Undercover Bookgasm Contest)

Today’s book is actually TWO books – Jaci Burton’s Riding Wild and Surviving Demon Island!

Riding Wild is book #1 in Burton’s Wild Riders series

He’s a Harley-riding ex-thief…she’s a gun-toting ex-socialite. Together they’ll take the ride of a lifetime in this erotic romance from “an undoubted master.”*

Mac Canfield was the last man Lily West expected to see again, never mind aim her gun at. But there he was, the bad boy who’d broken her heart years ago-still a thief, hijacking a priceless artifact-and it was all she could do to push aside the memories of how it felt to have his perfectly chiseled body next to hers.

Mac was no less shocked to see the beautiful girl next-door again, threatening to shoot him. Little did she know she was blowing his cover. He had to get her out of harm’s way without succumbing to his desire to take her on a hot trip down memory lane.

But Lily has no intention of going anywhere with Mac, which means he’ll have to resort to kidnapping. Unless she agrees to let him take her for the kind of ride destined to drive them both unbelievably wild.

Surviving Demon Island is Book One in Burton’s Demon Hunters series

Saving Demon Island

She’s all curves and combat boots.

He’s six feet of lean, dangerous male.

Join them in a game of survival.

That’s as real – and hot – as it gets.

What’s America’s top female action star doing on a tropical island shrouded in secrecy? To Gina Bliss, competing in a survival-type reality show is a nice change from fending off on-screen villains. Until she meets real-life action hero Derek Marks. A survival specialist in a tight black T and sexy stubble, he’s arousing every bad-boy fantasy she’s ever had…and testing her survival skills to the max.

Martial arts, jungle warfare – Derek’s done it all. But his latest mission is more dangerous than a stick of dynamite. Try telling that to the sexy, adrenaline-pumped actress who’s got his libido racing off the charts. As the heat rises between them and real-life violence erupts, suddenly Derek and Gina are on the run…and when they uncover a secret so explosive it could blow the lid of their so-called reality show, these two unlikely heroes are about to discover what surviving’s really about….

YOUR QUESTION: Jaci is great at writing the bad boy hero who really is a good guy underneath. Who’s your favorite bad boy of fiction? Remember, I’ll choose a winner tomorrow (11/16) at noon, pacific!

My favorite bad boy right now is Shock from Shayla Black’s Tempt Me With Darkness. I know he doesn’t seem like a good guy but oh I have such high hopes for him and I can’t wait.

Lord knows there are so many to pick from bot if I have to pick one I would pick Roarke. B/c even though he has gone legimate now underneath it all he’s still a bad boy and always will be.

My current favorite bad boy of fiction?

Japhrimel – the Greater Flight demon from Lilith Saintcrow’s Dante Valentine series. 😀 He’s hot, he’s a demon, and he can stop a gang of street punks with a look. What’s not to love?

The first one that comes to mind is Roarke from the in death series (J. D. Robb). More so in the earlier books.

Well, of course Roarke, but there’s also Ben Lewis from Linda Howard’s Heart of Fire and… shoot, I know there are more, but I think I need more coffee now.

Hummm, my favorite bad guy who’s a good guy….. I’d have to say right not it’s Zarek from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark-hunters. I haven’t read Stryker’s book yet so I’m not sure if I’ll love him.

There are others but I’m blanking on his name. Linda Howard wrote a gun runner who was doing that to help his daughter who had a health issue. He was a bad guy but for a good reason. I can not think of his name for the life of me. It was a great book and he wasn’t the hero but a secondary character, maybe someone else can remember his name.

There are so many to choose from. As I was looking at the bookshelf Caine Allen from Caine’s Reckoning by Sarah McCarty jumped out. Mind you that can change as I read about the other members of The Hell’s Eight

Oh this is a good one. I happen to love Bad Boys gone good. LOL I have to go with the first one I ever read and fell in love with that was Brandon in the Flame and the Flower. Kathleen E. Woodiwiss is the reason I love romance as much as I do and even though the style has changed from when she brought romance to the forefront
I still go back and read her books. 🙂

The Flame & The Flower – and Brandon. This was my first ever romance and I loved it. I got it from the library 3 or 4 times before I decided I needed to put it on my own bookshelf. It was the first of what would become hundreds of my “keeper” treasures.

Wow, bad boys who are secretly good guys are the best! I was trying to pin point which one I liked the most when I read through others choices and saying “Oooh yeah, that one, ooh most definitely that one.”

It’s just soooo hard to choose just one. Japhrimel from Lillith Saintcrow’s Dante Valentine… I fell for him instantly.

James Malory of Johanna Lindsey, he’s such an ornery man. Gotta love him. He makes the series fun.

    Zarek and Stryker for sure.

And I have to agree with Klypepas’s St. Vincent. His book is my all time favorite of that series
