He got serious and shook his head. “I don’t want anything but to be inside you, Tate Murphy.” He paused. ““You don’t have any idea what you do to me do you?”
“I don’t understand it. Why me?”
Remaining there in the doorway he watched as she took a nervous sip of the coffee. Took in the slight tremble of her hands as she did.
“Sweetness, I want you so much I think I’m going to have a stroke. All the blood in my body is now in one spot and I’m slightly dizzy from it,” he said with a rueful grin as he motioned toward his cock. “Can I show you how much I want you? What you do to me? Again? Because if you recall, we were in a similar situation last weekend. Only now we’ve got condoms.”
She nodded, staying silent. He took one step and then another and another until he reached her. He switched on the light and took a sip of the coffee. “Ahh, nice and sweet like a proper Southern woman knows how to make it.” He winked.
She smiled, shaking her head at him.
“I want to see you,” he said, coming to stand in front of her. Finishing the last of the coffee, he got down to business, popping buttons on her dress one by one.
“Turn off the light,” she whispered.
“No, I won’t be able to see you if I do that. I want to see your curves, sweetness. We did it your way last time. Let me see you.”
“But…” She blushed and he paused to quickly pull his own shirt off, tossing it in the nearby chair.
“See, I’ll go first.”
“Yeah, like that’s a comparison,” she grumbled but he couldn’t help but love the way she stared at his body. It wasn’t that he hadn’t been sized up by the fairer sex before. But this was different, this was Tate looking at him like he was the best thing since Christmas morning.
“Sweet holy fuck. Oops, sorry, my fuck problem again. You’re beautiful. Matt,” she hesitated, wringing her hands, “I’m not…my body isn’t like yours.”
He chuckled and kissed her quickly. “I should hope not. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.” Winking, he took her hand and put it over his cock. “This is what your body does to me. I’m not lying when I say you’re sexy.”
He got back to work until the last button on her dress slid free. Slowly, gently, he slid the dress back, letting it drop. She stood there for a moment, blushing, her eyes screwed shut tight.
Reaching out, he drew a fingertip down the curve between her breasts, right along the lace of the sexiest red lace bra he’d ever seen. Her panties matched, high cut on her hips. She was a little Venus there, delicate and yet larger than life.
“You still with me, sweetness? You’re so damned beautiful, so sexy. I can’t believe you wanted to hide yourself in the dark. Your skin is amazing, flawless.” He smoothed his palms over her arms, down her stomach and around to cup her ass briefly.
Her eyes opened a little bit but she still looked dubious. He’d have to change that. Tracing the lace of her bra, he reached around and undid the hooks, letting it fall and join the dress.

Of course I have enjoyed all of the Chase Brothers series and sadly this is the last of the brothers, but Matt’s story is heartwarming and extremely sexy in the way he takes to Tate. I felt so bad for the way Tate saw herself and kept trying to make sure everyone was happy, never thinking that she deserved some happiness too. Making Chase hits home for me and I can imagine a lot of women will relate to this story as I do. The story has a lot of heart and depth, I enjoyed the way Matt seduces and makes Tate a part of his life. It’s incredibly sexy to see the way they fit together.
Cindy Himler gives Making Chase four stars in the March 2009 issue of Romantic Times magazine: Dane takes the age-old tale of love between a high-society guy and a girl from the wrong side of the tracks and makes it new again in this delightful page-turner. Readers will not only hope for love between Tate and Matt, but the secondary characters are so well done that their stories evoke strong emotions as well. Dane is a true storyteller, and this delightful read is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

The emotions were just out of control throughout this book, in a good way of course. For Ms. Dane to be able to pull all of those reactions from a reader is a testimonial to her fantastic writing skills. (…) I hated to see this wonderful family go, but the ride that I got to go on was worth it. I will definitely be revisiting the Chase family. How can you leave old friends behind?
Tara Renee at Two Lips Reviews gives MAKING CHASE five lips and a Recommended Read: This is a wonderful story and a perfect end to what has been a fantastic series. Matt is a sexy and caring man who falls deeply in love with Tate. Tate is a complex woman, unsure of herself at times and yet a tiger for protecting her family. Her struggles with her own background make her a rich character. Lauren Dane packs Making Chase with very hot love scenes that demonstrate the emotions these two feel for one another. I have to say, I will miss this family and am sorry to see the series end. I know that I will be rereading these books often and, as Making Chase is by far my favorite, I will most likely wear out my copy!

I highly recommend not just this book, but the entire series. The entire Chase family is so welcoming that readers will feel like they belong – and who doesn’t want to belong to such a warm, loving family?

While Making Chase by Lauren Dane can stand alone, the full effect of this wonderful family is a must read experience. I joyfully recommend it!
