This is my first romantic suspense and the first in a contemporary series about the Chase Brothers.
Some small towns grow really good looking men! This is the case with the four Chase brothers. The home grown hotties are on the wishlist of every single woman in town and Maggie Wright is no exception.
Maggie has finally had it with the men she’s been dating but a spilled plate of chili cheese fries drops Shane Chase right into her lap. The sheriff is hot stuff but was burned by a former fiancée and is quite happy to play the field.
After Shane’s skittishness sends him out the door, Maggie realizes that Kyle Chase has had his eye on her from the start. Now that Shane has messed up, Kyle has no intention of letting anything stop him from wooing her right into his bed.
Despite Maggie’s happiness and growing love with Kyle, a dark shadow threatens everything—she’s got a stalker and he’s not happy at all. In the end, Maggie will need her wits, strength and the love of her man to get her out alive.
On Christmas Eve morning, Maggie woke up and stretched. Taking her time, she looked at the long naked lines of Kyle’s body with a lazy smile. He was all hers. She got up quietly to run down and turn on the coffee maker before coming back up to shower.
“Hey, I think you missed a spot,” Kyle said, stepping into the shower stall behind her. He took the sponge from her and soaped her back and down over the curves of her ass. He licked the cinnamon freckles of her shoulders and up her neck to her ear. He brought the sponge around and abraded her nipples with it, while tonguing her ear. Her eyes closed and she leaned back into him.
In her life she’d never felt so cherished and loved. His hands on her, his words in her ear wrapped around her heart. To belong to someone like Kyle had just never entered her imagination. Being loved like that was the finest gift life had ever granted her.
Rinsing herself off, she moved him around into the spray so she could do a bit of pampering herself. Stepping on the edge of the tub so she could reach him well, she washed his hair, gently massaging his scalp as she did. He held an arm wrapped around her waist to keep her steady. Afterwards she scrubbed his back and legs and everything in between. And the in between seemed quite pleased with the attention.
Her soap slicked hands wrapped around his cock. Gaze locked with his, she watched his lips part and his pupils dilate as he thrust, unashamedly into her grip. His free and easy acceptance of his sexuality turned her on immensely. He never hesitated to voice what he wanted or take what he needed.

She looked into the sea green depths of his eyes and he felt like he was falling into her whiskey colored ones. She opened herself to him, made herself vulnerable. It was raw then, tender and ferocious and what she was to him clutched his insides. He snaked a hand between them to find her clit, pressing a thumb over it in the way he knew she liked so much.
“Oh yes,” she moaned out, her hips arching, moving on him. While he watched her face, he saw her eyes glass over. I admired Kyle’s patient persistence in handling Maggie’s insecurities. Who wouldn’t admire a man who cares enough to actually set out on a campaign to boost his girlfriend’s self-confidence? Kyle’s like the dream man you’ve always heard about but never found…a sexy, caring, understanding, take-charge kind of guy who’s ready to make love whenever, wherever and however you want. The lovemaking between Kyle and Maggie caught me up and carried me along so that I felt like I was right there observing. Their sexual exchanges were as emotionally stimulating as they were sensually erotic.
“Most of the secondary characters are equally likable. Shane was something of a jerk during the beginning of the story but he turned out to be a great guy. I can’t wait to read his story, TAKING CHASE, which is scheduled for released in January 2007. I thoroughly enjoyed Polly’s matriarchal part and look forward to seeing more of this mother making her sons’ toe-the-line in upcoming installments. (Grin) The antagonist was creepy and the stalking situation was so realistic it sent chills down my spine. I’d have to say that this is one of my favorite Ms. Dane books to-date and I have no problem recommending it. GIVING CHASE is definitely deserving of a Gold Star Award!”

I really enjoyed the natural progression of their relationship from friendship to love to engagement. It just seemed right.”
