Good Monday Morning!

2014

I got some work done this weekend on Blade On the Hunt, but I also hung out with the kids and my husband a lot. We barbecued yesterday (it’s been hot here in the NW, but my dude is a whiz with the barbecue so all I had to do was make a side and get the buns ready.

Also caught Snowpiercer on Demand last night. I’ve been waiting to see this movie forever and with the way it’s been buried in the US, that hasn’t been easy. So we settled on the couch in the bonus room and caught it. I LOVED it. Oh sure it had flaws, but it also had an interesting storyline, flawed characters with actual motivations that made sense. Camaraderie but not blind obedience to a goal. I wish this had wider release because it’s one of the best science fiction movies I’ve seen in a while.

In any case, I worked on my laptop and peeked at my mail but in general I avoided getting online this weekend so let’s start this week off with something fun!

I’ve been in several anthologies – in fact my first sale to a traditional publisher was for Stripped, a novella for the What Happens in Vegas anthology 🙂 I love them because it gives me a chance to work with different people and my readers get exposed to authors they may not know and that’s true for everyone in an anthology so it’s a cool introduction to lots of people.  I’m giving some away today!

Did you do anything exciting this weekend? Reading anything fun or see any good movies?

Ttoday’s prize is an anthology prize pack:  Three to Tango – where my story dirty/bad/wrong shows you another side of Petal, GA…. (also included in this one are Megan Hart, Emma Holly and Beth Kery!),  What Happens in Vegas and What Happens in Vegas: After Dark featuring my novellas, Stripped and Sensual Magic (prequel set in my Bound by Magick universe)

Winner chosen from replies to this blog post and will  be announced in this Friday’s winners’ post (and remember to check in to see if you’ve won or not because unclaimed prizes are given away to a new winner after two weeks)

I spent time with my Mom before she went back to Texas. So nice to celebrate her 73 birthday with her. I read Grai’s Game by Mikalya Lane. This one was after a book which had a big cliff hanger which I normally don’t read but no warning until after you read book. Grrr 😈
So happy you had a great weekend with the family.

This weekend I saw Transformers and went out to dinner with my husband. I actually discovered you as a writer because of the Cherished anthology.

We had dinner at our daughters…her boyfriend can really grill 🙂 And Hubby went golfing with the 2 of them and his BFF. They had a blast and it was a fantastic round of golf for my hubby.

I read Three to Tangle and it was good. I bought it back then for Emma Holly’s story. Thanks for the giveaways. This is great! I wish you the best <3

Took our kids (7 & 3) to the Mariners and Sounders games yesterday-exhausting day but super fun. I first encountered your writing via the anthologies you mentioned in the post, which led me to the Browns/Delicious-one of the few series I’ve ever re-read within a few months of getting done with the latest. You had me at Pagliacci, but your books stand out in a crowded genre. Looking forward to getting to know the Hurleys.

I went to a birthday lunch for a friend on Sunday which was a lovely catch up, and just pottered around for the rest of the weekend. Finally got around to reading Larissa Ione’s Reaver, followed by Azagoth. Both very enjoyable. Finished the quilt I was making for another friend’s birthday in August. Quite a productive weekend really.

I worked on Saturday (6 days last week) so Sunday really was a day of rest and reading. I’ve been re-reading some of Lori Fosters books. I love your books set in Petal and can’t wait for the next. Oh and thank for the tip on the sci-fi movie, those are some of my favorite!

I read Fanning the Flames by Victoria Dahl and started Sarah Morgan’s newest, Suddenly Last Summer. I went to a golf tournament on Saturday and assisted the hubby with a few minor home improvement projects. It was a busy weekend! I have Three to Tango, but I need to check out your Vegas anthologies, too!

My family drove home from a 12 day vacation getting us home at 3 AM Saturday morning. The kids slept on the 6 hour drive and weren’t quite ready to go back to sleep once in their own beds. At 4 AM I listened to them debate if Santa is real since they were awake in middle of night. My 6 year old says “how can Santa be real and stay up all night” my 7 year old replied “well,I already don’t believe in elves, because there is no way little people can make big toys”.

Last week-end was an extended one for us in France because it was July 14th, our national day. The fireworks in my town were unfortunately almost inexistant so I just enjoyed a long week-end relaxing at home and reading Scent of Magic by Maria V. Snyder (loved it!).
