Ask Em If You’ve Got Em!

Christine asks: Can you give any information about Beth’s book? And any books you will be doing in Petal? Love the Series and that you you keep it going.

I don’t know at this point how many books I’ll be doing for the Petal series. Because it’s focused on the town rather than a family, it’s pretty open. Right now I’m writing Lost in You, which is Beth’s book and her hero is Joe Harris, who is her brother William’s best friend, returned to Petal to help his family out during a health crisis. As I write it I’ll be thinking about the next book(s) as well. I’m leaning toward Anne, but it’s not concrete just yet.

Will you be more of the Visit of Petal Installments. Is was great.

My plan from day one was to write FREE bonus CHAPTERS when each Petal book went to print. Just something fun for long time fans of the series to catch up with little glimpses of the lives of past characters. They will never be book length. They will never be more than a few fun chapters and they’re not standalone – like I said, just a fun thing for long time fans of the two series to catch up a little. As such, as long as they’re fun to write, I’ll keep doing them.

Nancy asks: I have read almost all your books and I love the amount of description you give your characters. However, while reading a characters physical description in Laid Bare it sort of through me off. During Erin’s first experience with Ben, his “member” was described as small?! I was wondering why you gave Ben a small cock?

I didn’t actually. I said it was short and fat in comparison with Todd’s Short and fat doesn’t mean small, it means thick. Hope that helps!

Robbye asks: I was wondering when we will see the result of another Lauren Dane – Megan Hart collaboration?

As a matter of fact, Megan and I sold a futuristic duology to Berkley Heat – most likely it’ll be out in 2014 with two category length novels from each of us. They’re not connected, but I’m excited for both stories 🙂

Chris asks: Are you planning more books in the Federation and Phantom Corps series?

I am, yes! I plan to write Wil’s story as well as Deimos’. It’s just a matter of scheduling at this point. I’ve got two contemporary series with Heat through the end of next year. Then I’ll be thinking on what’s next and one of those proposals will be those two stories.

Also, I love the way you write your books that focus on menage or polyamorous relationships. Outside of Tart, do you have any more menage stories planned?

I like to write menage/poly stories, but only in very specific story settings. I don’t like to throw an extra person into the mix unless it makes sense for that group of people. So I don’t have any on deck just now. I will be writing them again in the future I’m sure!

Nat asks: Do you plan to write any more books in the de la vega cat series?

Yes, I will. It’s just about schedules right now. My release schedule for 2013 is totally booked and my writing schedule into 2014 is starting to look that way as well. It’s my aim to get a new de La Vega book out in 2014.

Monica asks: Do you find that series writing provided more inspiration and character development than standalones?

I think they provide many similar experiences when it comes to inspiration. Each book has its own challenges and rewards and I learn things each time I write. Certainly series books, especially the bigger family sagas I’ve been working on over the last few years present challenges to organization and also in how to keep characters growing and changing, even though their particular story has been told. I rather like that part.

Andrea asks: Will Alexanders’ biological father ever be revealed??

Nope. Alexander has two dads 🙂

Lissa asks: (1) Will there be any more books after Raven’s story in the Brown/Delicious series or follow-up novellas like Laid Open?

I don’t know. The eSpecial was something they came to me with. They haven’t mentioned anything else like that for the future at this point.

As for Brown Siblings books – I’ve pretty much finished with HEAs for everyone in that circle so there’s not anyone else for me to write about. I will have the Delicious novels and I’m considering pitching some books for Levi’s brothers so that circle of friends would still be part of that.

(2) How many books is planned in the Magick series?

There are four books total. Book three is GOING UNDER and it’s out in February and features Gage and Molly. Book four is TORN AND FRAYED and will feature Helena and Faine and it’s out November ’13

Are you going back to the Cascadia pack?

I’m working on a proposal for Samhain for a book set in Portland with the Pacific Pack that’ll happen right before events in Chaos Burning. It’ll be out in August of next year.

(3) Will there be a new arc for Will and Deimos’ books and how many books are you envisioning for that arc?

(I answered this one above to Chris’ question – I’m so happy people want to hear more of my Federation world!) As for how many books? Just the two at this point.

I love all of your series – A couple of questions:

    (1) Will there be any more books after Raven’s story in the Brown/Delicious series or follow-up novellas like Laid Open?

    (2) How many books is planned in the Magick series? Are you going back to the Cascadia pack?

    (3) Will there be a new arc for Will and Deimos’ books and how many books are you envisioning for that arc? Will you be doing follow-up novellas for that series similar to Laid Open?
