Some things I’ve been listening to a lot lately…
Wye Oak – We Were Wealth – this one is on the GOING UNDER tracklist (along with several other Wye Oak songs)
Kate Nash Do Wah Doo
An oldie but as it happens, Molly (my heroine in GOING UNDER) is a huge Led Zeppelin fan – this one is Trampled Under Foot
Sharon Van Etten’s Warsaw (from her amazing record, Tramp)

I’m an aspiring author and have been reading lately about possible books to read to continue to grow my knowledge base in case it’s ever helpful with something I’m writing. This post made me realize that it shouldn’t be limited to books.
Do you find that your characters tend to like the same music you like? Or do you ever have a character that likes music that isn’t your style? Or does that really ever come up?

I’m not a music person so it’s more having the tv on for sound when I’m cleaning or even reading or sudoku!

😉 I’ve been listening to my one hit wonders play list, lol. Some oldies and some newer music, but it always make me smile. And I lol at myself because my taste in music is so eclectic ~ I have country, rap, rock & roll, pop, soul & even some classical on my playlists

I still listen to that Second chances soundtrack that I won. In fact, we have to listen to it all the time in the car because Gabe loves those bhangra tunes!

I am a music fan. I think the only things not on my ipod is opera and rap. I can listen to some rap but really not a fan of most of it.

I love when authors share music lists. It usually gives a lot of insight into the characters in the book. AND, I have discovered a lot of great music this way!

You have such a varied taste in music. It is always so interesting to listen to the music that plays a part when you are writing.
