Today’s guest is Julianna Stone so let’s all say hey!

Happy Monday everyone and thanks to Lauren for letting me spend a bit of time here! A little introduction first, I’m Juliana Stone…I write paranormal romance and contemporary romance. I live in Canada with my family, a dog and a cat. I love 80’s rock, red wine, hockey and my girlfriends!

I have a book coming out tomorrow (Tuesday, April 24th) and I’ll talk a bit about it, but I really want to talk about the power of dreams and how they get you from point A to point B.

You see, writing has always been something I wanted to do. When I was a young girl, I made up stories all the time. I dreamed of being a published writer but I’m not sure that I really believed it would ever happen. Hello…I was just a girl from a small town in Ontario…weren’t all writers from like, New York? ? So I thought about it a lot. But never did anything about it. I was always a voracious reader and through my teens and early twenties I read a lot of books.

And I thought about writing. But I never actually did it. I got married, had kids…raised those kids and continued to read books and…thought it would be cool to maybe write a book.

It took me a few more years to actually sit down and write, but I finally did it. I listened. That is the power of dreams. They never leave but the thing is, you have to be strong enough to listen to them. To act on them. Because you never know if your dream will come true and honestly, the sweetest thing ever is when they do.

I wrote my first book His Darkest Hunger in 2008. It was published in 2010 and by the end of 2013 I will have 12 books published. Because I listened to my dream! So to anyone reading this blog, I say…GO FOR IT and treasure your success!

So…Wicked Road to Hell is the first book in my League of Guardians series. It’s a spin off from the Jaguar Warrior books and features Declan O’Hara and Ana DeLacrux. (a novella, Wrong Side of Hell released in March as well) These are both characters who have been in all my books and they’ve finally gotten their own story!

Here is the blurb that best defines the League Books…

For millennia the struggle between light and dark, between the upper and lower realms, has been policed by a secret group of warriors culled from every fabric of existence. They are both otherworld and human, male and female. They are light and dark themselves and known to each other as the League of Guardians. Their pledge, to protect the line between dominions and make sure neither side grows too powerful. If they fall, so shall the earth, the heavens and hell. And there will be no more.

Wicked Road to Hell: With the legions of the underworld gathering and chaos close at hand, Sorcerer Declan O’Hara’s deadly skills will be tested. But nothing will sway him from his duty…

Rescued from eternal darkness, vampire Ana DeLacrux owes her life to a mysterious stranger who asks for only one thing—her absolute allegiance. She serves this master without question until Declan, the one man who can make her forget her vow, returns. His magic is stronger, darker…more compelling than ever. His blood awakens a hunger she must resist, or risk deadly consequences.

As Ana and Declan join forces, the streets of New Orleans become a dangerous place for both humans and the otherworld. And the most dangerous place of all is a road Declan’s traveled before…the wicked road to hell.

To celebrate the release of this first full length book in my new series, I’ll give away a copy of the novella, Wrong Side of Hell. (in either ebook or paper whichever you prefer) All you have to do is tell me what your dream is and if you’ve listened…. (winner will be announced next Monday, April 30 in the Winners post)

Hi Julianna! I am looking forward to you new League of Guardians series. Congrats and Happy Release Day, one day early!!

When I was little I dreamed about being a Mom and a teacher! I am a Mom, which is the best part of that dream and though I never finished school and got my teaching credentials I guess in a way I am a teacher anyway, atleast to my own kids!

    Hi, Julianna!
Please don’t enter me ~ I love your books, have them! I think it’s coolest thing in the world to get to make a living at your dream ~~ I WILL one day own a book store but still figuring out to make that fit into today’s book world. I’m thinking I should have a wine & read store? LOL, my dream is evolving a little these days, but it stays constant that I want to one day own my own book store, where readers can come and be comfy, chill and read and find new authors.

I dream of having more reading time–one of these years, I’ll probably end up with way too much, and then I’ll be sad ;p In the meantime, I’ll keep on adding to my TBR! Thanks for intro to your newest spinoff, Julianna–it sounds great!

    Hi, Juliana.

One dream is to travel to Japan before I’m 50. Another dream is to be a part-time pastry chef (I’ll start off small and eventually own a shop).

I read His Darkest Hunger and loved it. I look forward in reading more of your works.

My dream is to raise my children in a loving and stable home. That’s my deepest desire. I strive towards my goal every day. Oh, a long and successful writing career would be nice, too, but the kids come first 🙂

As a kid i always dreamed of being a singer. To that end i took voice lessons for years til i was 18. I sang in many recitals on television locally in a competition a time or two and the biggest thing was at the National FFA convention when i was a sophomore in high school. I was in FFA at the time of course. I was so excited because there was about 20,000 people there at the time. It was really exciting. After i graduated from high school though i ended up in the Army and later got married, kids etc. So i got to have some fun with it in my early years anyway. lol

    Congrats on the new release!!

Well, now I’m feeling a bit sorry for myself–because I don’t have anything resembling *a* dream. No primary ambition, no overwhelming drive…

I just try to live my life a day at a time and be happy with it. Does that count?

This is such a tough question. I did become a stay at home mom and I have never looked back. As far as a dream I have chased, I can’t think of any it particular although I have been dreaming about working in the book/publishing industry. I love to read and I would love to help others read. I just don’t know what I want to do yet.
