Back to the Future….Or not.
Interesting question, no? And one my heroine in Black Legacy deals with on a daily basis. How cool…to be able to travel either forward or backward in time. For Frankie Black it’s pretty much a family business. They are the time police! She and her sisters are the only thing standing between rogue jumpers, people like The New Order, who would manipulate time for their own evil purposes!
I had so much fun writing this short for Samhain and am totally pumped that it releases today! I’ve always been fascinated by time travel. The very possibility of it is intriguing and amazing to me. .
In this first installment in this series, Frankie has been ordered back 300 years, to present day earth in order to make sure that Dekkar James survives the night. He’s been targeted for assassination by The New Order. Little does Frankie know she’s about to meet the man of her dreams….a man who is perfectly, imperfect.
Here is an excerpt of their first meeting:
“Don’t say I didn’t bring you anything for your birthday. You owe me one, Dekkar.”
Frankie’s eyes shot up until they were caught, held in place with an invisible rope by the greenest, sexiest eyes she’d ever seen on a man.
Dekkar James stood a few inches from her, hands loose at his side, shirtless and ripped. His incredible torso was covered in an elaborate array of colorful tattoos that snaked up, caressing the hard abs.
Seconds turned into a long, slow silence, broken by the most devastating smile imaginable.
He didn’t speak, just held out his hand.
Frankie’s breath caught in her throat, and she felt as if she were coming apart, so intense was her body’s reaction.
She hesitated for one moment, and then her hand reached for his, a feeling of fire racing over her flesh as she made contact.
Everything faded away, and she let him lead her out the door, down yet another hallway, until the only sound was their heavy breathing. The air felt thick and it clung to her skin, like a soft caress. She glanced down to her timepiece. She had a little over an hour before the operatives from the New Order were scheduled to arrive.
She wanted to look up, but couldn’t meet his eyes. Her own pale blue orbs had stopped at the sight of the huge bulge that strained against the black of his leather.
When she did manage to raise her eyes higher, his mouth was descending, and she felt her own lips tremble in anticipation.
What the hell was wrong with her? She was on assignment for Christ sakes, and was about to break one of the most vehemently enforced rules of a Black Opal.
No fucking with a target.
His lips were firm, with just a hint of softness that gripped the edges as he opened his mouth wide, and plundered her warm wetness with his tongue. Fire erupted, hot and raging; it was immediate and all consuming.
Frankie had never in her life experienced such a kiss. It was both passionate and brutal in its intensity. She knew she was lost. There would never again be such a first kiss.
Not ever.
Sigh…I love first kisses especially when they lead to one helluva a hot encounter!

Time travel always seems so tricky to me–I’d have a bunch of “rules” before embarking on such an adventure! It’d have to be temporary, and I’d have to be rich and/or powerful (going back into the past seems such a dangerous thing when you’re poor/disenfranchised). If those apply, then I’d be interested in visiting all kinds of places/times! Because really, did everyone really dress the way we portray them now?

Black Legacy sounds so good and I would love to be entered.
If I could time travel…I would probably go back to the sixties as it would be an interesting time to experience. I haveto admit that I would not want to go too far back because I am the kind of girl who needs are modern conveniences!

This first offering of Frankie and her family is a must read and in answer to the above :If you had the ability to time travel where would you go? If could go nowadays then time travel would take me to the Scottish Highlands so could really see if they wear anything under their kilts!!!!
To what time and place? If went in olden times I would like to go to back to Roman times when people still wore their bed sheets as clothes and would like to visit The Coliseum and watch the Gladiators fight, it would be an awesome bloody spectacle!!!
Waiting on April would be easier if reading Frankie’s adventures don’t you think maybe?

Wow! This book sounds great! I LOVE the idea of time travel.
Where would I go?…Everywhere…Everytime…
There is not any time that is not fascinating.
I would love to learn to draw hieroglyphs on a Pharaohs sarcophagus, meet Joan of Arc, dine with Queen Elizabeth, see if King Arthur really existed, fight the bloody wars on Culloden Hill in Scotland, experience the first kiss at Times Square on DDay.
The real question is:
Where WOULDN’T I go?

If I could Timetravel I would go to the sixties to experience Woodstock for myself (was way to young at the time LOL).
Or if Timetravel allowed for going into the future I would go to whenever we first meet aliens to see if Earth can actually manage to not make a hash of it.

I would travel to the future……maybe 100 years. I’d like to see what medical advancements they’ve made. Especially as a quadraplegic, I’m curious to see advancements in this area.

If time travel was possible I just want to go back two years ago, just to be able to say goodbye to my grandmom and tell her how much she means to me. She raised me and I moved away 5 years ago. She got really ill 2 years ago and passed away.

It would be so tempting to go back to the past and try to “fix” things. The problem is how do you know it will make things better? I guess I would want to go to the future, see how everything turned out…then again???

I would go back in time for woodstock and that era, just so I could visit the music. I love all types of music, but to see Janis? Jimi? That would be worth time travelling for..

I think if I went to another time, especially one in my own country, I would be too tempted to change things, so better to go back to stone out and listen to excellent music

If I had a chance to time travel I’d go when ever I could. I’d love to be able to solve some of the mysteries from the past. If I could only time travel once then I would go to the future hoping that things would be better there.

If I can time travel I would stop by the Victorian Era and make a pit stop a bit into the future. Since I’ve been to neither, I would looove to see them.
