Wow, time just got right past me on this! Anyone want to win an early copy? I’m going to run a quick and dirty contest here and I’ll pick three (maybe more depending on my mood and how many entries there are) winners at 5 pm pacific today (Friday Oct 16) (See rules at bottom of post)

Blurb: Renee Parcell loves her life. Her smoothie/coffee cart business is successful, and she’s deeply in love with her boyfriend, Galen. He makes her laugh, he’s gainfully employed, and he satisfies her as only a sexy cat shifter can. He even puts the toilet seat down.

Yet they both sense something in the air. An anticipation that leaves them both unsettled.

Tall, blond and gorgeous Jack Meyers, Enforcer of National Pack and one of the most beautiful men Renee and Galen have ever seen. When he stumbles into Renee’s life, the riddle of their expectation is solvedβ€”Renee is Jack’s mate. What surprises them all is when the three of them touch, magick creates an unexpected triple bond of witch, cat and wolf.

Even as they learn to navigate the steamy intricacies of their bond, a threat looms over Renee. First in the form of resurrected memories, then in the shape of darker magicks someone is aiming at her. Set on stealing her inherent powersβ€”even her life.

Renee can stand to lose almost anything, except her mates. But there seems to be no talking them out of laying everything on the line for her…

You can read the first chapter at Samhain! You can also pre-order at Books On Board as well as checking it out next Tuesday at My Bookstore and More!

All you need to do is comment here – here are some discussion questions: Do you like menages? If so why? Or why not? Who’s your favorite paranormal character? Favorite author?

Good Luck Everyone!

I’m posting in hopes of winning a copy so that you could sign it and I can read it then pass it along as a prize to one of my lucky blog readers.

To add a valuable comment, when it comes to paranormal reading, while it is a small stretch to call it classic literature, I’m a big fan of the White Wolf publishing RPGs. Their descriptions and history behind their Warewolves, vampires, and many other paranormal beings is truly amazing. To any paranormal writer who has not seen a white wolf role playing game manual, even if you have no interest in actually playing a paper & pencil role playing game), I suggest you check these out.

😳 Menages are… shhhh tell no one…. one of my super sekret faves,…. LOL OK so Leah Braemel tells me it is not so super sekret… LOL I don’t know why I like them it is just maybe so hot when two men can put aside their usual jealousies to give the woman pleasure from so many senses and places at the same time…. gives new meaning to sensory overload.. Fave paranormal character… well that is a hard one… I love so many…and that goes for the author bit too…. but if I had to chose … author would be Shiloh Walker right now and character would be Shane McAllister from Jeri Smith REadys WVMP…

Yay! i read the first chapter and it’s very hot, i can’t wait to read what comes next

I have to say i didn’t know i liked reading about Menages until i read Laid Bare…that was kind of a revelation for me (and what a revelation! *g* ). I love this book and i’m looking for another menage book that could help me fill the need Laid Bare created…

Favorite author and paranormal character….hum that’s too damn hard to answer, i does change a lot depending on what i’m reading. If i had to choose right now i’d say Ann Aguirre for the author and Curran (Ilona Andrews) for favorite character πŸ˜‰

I love menage stories they are so spicy and vivid! Makes me wish I was a bit younger and single again, hubby is definately too Alpha to allow any other participants, but at least I can read about it. Just knowing how the men devote their entire attetnion to the one woman is erotic in itself considering that in todays society its far and few between to get that kinf of TLC!

I lurve Menages–I guess it’s not so much a secret since I write so many of them. I think it so sexy when a man can set aside his own pleasure so that he can take care of a woman not only sexually but emotionally. That two men can work together to see to it that a woman it taken care of completely, that she wants for nothing, emotionally, physically, sexually, spiritually, etc. Fav, Char. Man… that’s very hard. I’ve read thousands of books but I think the most memorable character has been Cade Warren. I’ve had so many dreams of this book, of this character and I’ve no real idea why. It’s just stuck with me. Fav. author, Christine Feehan. She’s the author that introduced me to Paranormal Romance so although her work can be repetitive at times, she’ll always be an autobuy for me just for introducing me to the genre I love.

Menages… they are a definite fantasy of mine, but I can’t say as I’ve ever had the chance to participate in one. I’m too shy, never proposed one, never been in a situation to accept or turn one down… but when I’m looking for erotica, that’s what I like to look for. πŸ™‚ I love the idea.

I wasn’t willing to try (reading) menages until I stumbled upon one by Wendi Darlin called Hired Hands and absolutely loved it! Though I do read primarily romance, the occassional menage is a great rainy-day treat!

Paranormal characters… So hard to choose! I always answer with J.R. Ward and her Black Dagger Brotherhood. John Matthew, in particular. But I also enjoyed Kresley’s Cole’s Lachlain from A Hunger Like No Other! It appears I have a bit of a were/wolf shifter fetish πŸ˜‰

Yes, if written well and unique, menage romances are cool. I want the guys to be caring and protective more than me Tarzan, you Jane, if that makes sense. I write menage romance under a pen name, so I try really hard to show the guys as real people instead of the he-men I often see in such stories.

And I wish you much success with this new book!

When they are written well, there is just nothing sexier than a great menage story. There’s something so appealing about being the center of attention of 2 or more alpha men. Oh the fantasies I’ve been able to dream of after reading a good menage tale! As far as favorite author, that would depend on my mood and whoever I’m reading at the time. I have thousands of books but there are a few I read over and over again. One would have to be Lora Leigh’s Breed series or Bound series. Favorite character would have to be Bobby Ray Smith from The Beast in Him by Shelly Laurenston. He’s such a bad ole southern boy and I laugh my ass off everytime I think about him!

Love menage stories! My favorite are the permanent ones. If a menage book from a new-to-me author, I always buy it. I may not like it and I may never buy anything else by her/him, but I am always willing to try it, just based on the menage.

I just realized that my first Lauren Dane book was Triad. That was an excellent decision on my part πŸ˜‰

I definitely like reading menages–the more sexy people together the hotter it is.

My favorite paranormal character (and the one I’m obsessing over) right now is Qhuinn from Ward’s BDB. I absolutely can’t wait for his story and I always reread the books just for his parts. Can you be considered a stalker if the one you’re stalking is a fictional character?

    Win a copy.. Yes Please..
Yep, I like Menages as well.. why? besides well written ones are just extremely hot. I think part of it is the added dementions of relationship. I also think part of it is the wish to be the center of so much attention.
Fav. character kind of runs by series.. I really don’t have an all time stand out, but I tend to lean to the paranormal. Favorite author??? hmm another hard one.. lots I really like, and finding new ones slowly [very small book budget] Karen M. Moning, J.R. Ward, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Gena Showalter, SJ Day, Sunny, Jaci Burton, Joey W. Hill, Shiloh Walker.. goes on & on… I haven’t gotten to read any of yours yet, but from the reviews & recomm. it looks like I’ll be adding to the list when I do get to read them.. thanks for the chance to win Trinity!

    Hi Lauren,

Yay for Trinity coming out! I find it fascinating that your approach to this menage is so different from the norm (girl meets 2 men, they get it on, and live hea). I am looking forward to reading how Renee and Galen accept Jack into their established relationship. The paranormal element is just icing on the cake for me! Menages can be great, and favorite authors include Lora Leigh, Maya Banks, Lorelei James, and Lauren Dane! Thanks for the giveaway, and congrats on the new release.

Hi Lauren, Wow I lurve contests! Yes I love menages and I think my first experience of a menage story was Branded by Gold by Carol Lynne and that was it I was hooked. Now for paranormal I hate to sound boring but I love werewolves and vamps. My favourite author apart from you obviously (!) sorry but I can’t choose as there are to many authors out there who write such amazing stories. Thanks for entering me in this contest.

Lora Leigh turned me on to menages and I’ve been hooked ever since. The sensuality of two men focused on bringing a women pleasure can be so darn erotic, and makes for ultimate fantasy material. My favorites are when the menage is part of a relationship that brings both a mental and physical connection.

I love menages and my faves are the ones where everybody is together in the end. They tend to be very intense compared to most m/f and I love that.

Fave paranormal character-that’s too hard but my fave types are vamps and shifters.

I love too many authors to name one fave and I pick up new authors all the time. Right now I’m reading Chris Owen and I’m going through all her books I can get my hands on and loving them.

I do adore a good menage. *g* I tend to like them more in the paranormal world, because I’ve already suspended my disbelief, but I like them in contemporary settings to, when handled well. They’re great fantasy fodder. And I’m not trying to be a kiss-ass, but your menages rock — your men do some serious attention-lavishing, and that’s just so…ummm.

I like so many paranormals, it’s hard to pick a favorite character, but I guess my favorite *of the moment* is Kitty Norville from Carrie Vaughn’s books. I really like how she’s evolved over the series.

Favorite author is even harder! There are just too damn many!

Yes, I like menages. And I’ll second Joy, I my faves are the ones where everybody is together in the end.

Why? More love to go around, more complex relationship(s), more issues, more fun. Also: HAWT! *g*

My favorite paranormal character is Nucking Futs Nïx, fave author for paranormals is Kresley Cole. Fave author in general? Too many to list!

I would have to say that I like menages! I could picture two men at the same time sounds really good to me! I think two men spoiling you would be beyond great.

I dont think I can pick a favorite author there are so many that I love but a couple of the tops are you since I bought Laid Bare Megan Hart, Zane, and Allison Hobbs.

As far as paranormal my favorite would be Allison Hobbs The Enchantress read it and loved it. Anyone who has not read should really check it out.

Menages are sometimes an acquired taste. Some authors make it work while others leave me feeling cold. But while I’m always game to give a new menage story a try, it seems like a hit or miss. Some of my favorites are menages but they’ve also been some of my disappointments. I guess it depends on how the plot and characters are constructed.

My first introduction to menages was by Lora Leigh’s Bound Heart series and I knew I was hooked. The reason I love the menage stories I think is that it’s a fantasy of mine that I would never have the guts to act on so I live it vicariously through the books.

My favorite paranormal character is hard to name. If I have to name one it would be JR Ward’s Rehvenge.

Favorite author? I am not going there, have tooooo many and refuse to pick one LOL

The first menage I read was by Lora Leigh and I’ve been hooked ever since. Admittedly I’ve read some that just didn’t work for me but on the most part they’ve all been well written and had some emotion behind the sex. I prefer M/F/M over any other combination.

I don’t know that I have a favorite paranormal character. There are some paranormal series that I have loved, like Feehan’s witch series. I like Larissa Ione’s demon series too!

No way can I pick a favorite author. There are so many who write fabulous books.

I can’t really say I’ve read very many menages, but the book blurb here has me quite intrigued. It strikes me as something that can be done well or poorly and, depending on the result, can make or break a tale. As I said, “Eeeenteresteeeng!”

If I had to pick a favorite paranormal character, it’d probably be Anna Cornick…for now.

As for author, I’ve only just gotten into the genre and there are too many for me to have read enough to pick one!

Love menages. There is nothing like reading a great book with lots and lots of sexy times especially if the dynamics include three people in the sexy times. I think it challenges the author to really kick it up a notch because now there are three people that are involved in the matter and creating chemistry for three people without short cutting any character is hard. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED LAID BARE I thought you did an incredible job with the characters and the story is really just so beautiful. I can’t wait for Trinity I am expecting another incredible story.

I am only so very sad because Trinity is not listed on Amazon and I have a Kindle would really love to downloaded it to Kindle. I know that there is away to get from other formats and download it to kindle but alas I am a technical savant and cannot figure this out :-(. WhoÒ€ℒs your favorite paranormal character? is always in the book I’m reading now lol. I am digging a new character in Shelly Laurenston The Mane Squeeze. I love Blayne the female leads friend. I think she needs her own book lol. Favorite author? I don’t have a “favorite author” I have lots of favorite authors and I’m not picking one. wow that sounds like a little kiddo there all i need is the neener neener neener rofl. I just discovered menages thanks to Lora Leigh’s books and then someone on a site I read mentioned Laid Bare and I loved that, too. Imagine my delight when I discovered there is a whole genre out there… Bliss. Then I found Maya Banks and some others… There’s just something about someone having two people to play with instead of just one that appeals to me. The additional connections (family, friends, etc.) and emotional investments between additional people involved appeals to me, too. I really like the ones where they all end up together permanently. I do like the happy ending, and if I am attached to all the characters, I want them all to be happy together at the end.

And I can see from the comments here that menages are not going out of style anytime soon. Good. πŸ™‚

Another author in the paranormal I like is Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson..that series just keeps getting better and better. Normally she would be having her new book releasing in Jan 2010 but i believe the release date has been pushed back to march 2010-she is definately worth the wait!
