Today’s book is Cascadia Wolves: Enforcer by me!

CASCADIA WOLVES: ENFORCER – book One in the Cascadia Wolves series

Nina Reyes is a just barely reformed grifter who has left her past and her criminal record behind. That is until her brother shows up on her doorstep with some rogue werewolves out to kill him.

Nina gets drawn into the web of intrigue further when Lex Warden, Cascadia Pack’s Enforcer, comes to her for help and she ends up needing his protection.

There’s missing viral agents, the werewolf mafia, death threats, arson and a whole lot of scorching sex and acerbic wit between them.

Welcome to the Northwest and Casadia Pack.

YOUR QUESTION: What’s the appeal of a werewolf or shifter hero? Any faves?

I’ll choose the winner tomorrow at noon!

My favorite trait about a shifter hero is the way they are so protective of their mates, and the fact that they usually have smoking hot bodies doesn’t hurt either ;- )

    Hi Lauren:

I think the appeal of a werewolf or shifter hero is certainly the physical and psychological strength that seems inherent to the character. But I also think it is that once they find their mate is a forever bond which is very endearing.

Any of the males in your Casadia Pack series are pretty hot!! 😀

    Thank You For the Contest!

The appeal for me is the raw power. I mean sure they’re all muscle-ly and all, but when they shift into an animal it’s just raw prowess and I love it!

The power they embody as well as the sense of vulnerability when it comes to their lady loves. Some of my favorites have been the Carpathians by Christine Feehan and the Immortal Knights by Delilah Devlin.

I love an alpha hero and the werewolf is alpha whether he is in his wolf form or his human one…a strong, sensual beast either way you look at it! I also love how they mate for life…all others do not matter when they find that one special female. No matter which form the male is in he always seems to be handsome, hot and very very forceful…love ’em.

Because they are alpha, strong, and protect their own. My fave books are Kate Douglas’ Wolf Tales.

One of my favorites is Colin from Cynthia Eden’s “Hotter After Midnight.” They’re sexy because the animal/beast inside them makes untamed.

I think I like them because there’s a running theme that there is the perfect mate, the perfect someone out there who is your other half. The one person just for you. And no matter how rough things get there is the hope you will find him/her.

Lauren, I have to pretty much agree with everyone else. The appeal is the thought of a hot body, power and just a hint of wildness! They are just waiting for the right women to tame them. * Yum * I love Cynthia Eden’s wolves but I also love Lora Leigh’s Breed stories, even though they don’t shift ( Is it getting hot in here? ). Have a good weekend!

Shifter heroes are strong and fantastic. Whether they are the alpha or beta or just one of the pack. They believe that there is a perfect mate for them and they can feel it in their bones so to speak. Its like true love and its everlasting. They would die for their mate or go through hell. Its the fantasy of it all.

Lately I’ve been enjoying Dana Marie Bell’s Halle Puma series which looks like it going to branch out to even more. So excited. 😀

Hotter After Midnight’s Colin is my new favorite. 😀 I have to agree with all of the comments! How could you not enjoy an alpha who has one true mate?

I think my favourite shifters are in LKH’s Anita Blake series. I love Nathanial and Jason. I love seeing them grow and mature. I like their self-discovery.
    Thanks!

I’m thinking it’s the primal urges. The pure desire. The thrill of being the object of that desire. I don’t think it’s the drool or the heart worms.

I like to read books about weres but if I knew one I wouldn’t find it appealing.
A shifter on the other hand appeals to me greatly. It’s something I’d like to do. I’d like to shift to a cat. I wanna be Catwoman!!

they are wild and free, they can give into the anamalistic side that we all have and not feel bad about it – plus they are usually pretty hott.

my fav would have to be vane from sherrilyn kenyons dark hunter books – for some reason he is just really compelling to be

For me, the appeal of werewolf or shapeshifter hero is that they are powerful, alpha males who have danger lurking under the surface.

I also have to say that my favorite shifters are in Nalini Singh’s serious!! It’s very endearing how possessive and elemental they are! I also love watching a strong alpha male fall hard for their mate..

Like just about everyone else, It is the “back to basics” with the protective side, alpha, don’t mess with me ideas.

I guess we(women) all want a little of that in our lives. Someone to just take care of us. So we just can let go once in awhile.

I know in my family, my husband may be the “bread winner” but I do everything else. I make all the desisions about ,the house, the kids, the money, etc. I know I would enjoy someone to just barge in and take over 🙂

I just think we all want a little of that and that is what appeals to us in these types of heros.

I think the appeal is that the Alpha males are willing to go great lengths to protect their mates and family. It is also appealing that they make some mistakes when tryng to be protective which makes them even more endearing to me. It also does not hurt that the werewolves/ shifters usually have a body built for sin. LOL

Their appeal to me is the power they give off like an aura. They also mate for life–can’t beat that!

The appeal of a shifter character for me is once the matebond has been formed, they will do anything to keep their mates happy and the idea that their is some a tie that them together and is unbreakable is really appealing. Also shifter have really great stamina to go along with their really hot bodies.

I love the fact the shifter character is so ALPHA 😀 They protect their mates and do not apologize for that. They have such great sex drives 😉 I would love to find me such a awesome shifter for my life

I’m not exactly sure what it is. Maybe it’s that instant knowing your mate is the one. That feeling of protectiveness that envelopes them. That feeling that they would scale the highest mountain or swim seas the to get them. Some of my favorites Christine Feehan, Dana Marie Bell, Elizabeth Lapthorne, Lora Leigh and of course Cascadia & Cherchez Pack series to name a few

I like them because they are dangerous, aggressive and wild, yet very protective and all about clan/family. One of my favorite series with shifters is Nalini Singh’s Psy series because of the atraction of the extreme opposites, cold, unfeeling Psys and the shifter clans all about emotions and family.

For me, the appeal of a werewolf or shifter hero it that something extra, above and beyond what normal human males have. So far, my favorite shifter hero is Bobby Ray Smith from Shelly Laurenston’s The Beast In Him of her Pride series. He is also so confident, but he’s also one of the sweetest heroes I’ve read in a while.

I think the appeal for me is that you literally have an alpha male on your hands. Plus, unlike vampires, weres aren’t confined by daylight.

My favorite alpha wolf is Adam Hauptman in the Mercy Thompson books by Patricia Briggs.

I think the appeal is the ability to shift, the ability to feel something different and unique to be able to do something so foreign to us.

I would have to agree with the comments above…and the appeal of weres is their pure alpha sexiness!!

I would have to say my favorite right now is Adam from Patricia Brigg’s Mercy Thompson series! I just love him.

I think I’m most atractive to werewolves because they are pack oriented. Even though most people in the US live in small family units, I think we still have a repressed pack longing. So we read about big happy groups (clans, packs, large families…) to fufill that need.
