Woot!

I finished my second round edits on Taking Chase and got those back and now I’ll get to Threat of Darkness which I hope to make a huge dent in this weekend to push through and finish the middle.

Battlestar Galactica domestic date night is here. I love the time with my husband, just the two of us, eating popcorn and snuggling. It’s so important to try and make time as a couple and when you’re living such busy lives it’s easy to lose sight of that.

I’ll put this rant here at the end – I really can’t wait for election day because the ads in my district have hit a new low and I swear if one of the candidates (and I won’t even waste my time saying her name, although it’s perfect for her personality and demeanor) comes to my door I’ll turn the hose on her. Talk about the issues, I don’t want to hear about your opponent’s campaign platform when she was a college freshman 21 years ago (unless she was burning crosses or something). If all you’ve got is that, you really shouldn’t be re-elected. I don’t make a big secret of my politics but I’ll tell you what, don’t demonize my profession in an ad about your opponent and expect a nice reception when you come to my door. Feh!

You hit the nail on the head with that one alright. I can’t wait myself. For election day. It’s unfortunate b/c instead of talking about the issues all they do is sling mud and people fall for it.

    Popcorn, yum – my favorite.

I’ll be glad when election day is over, too. All the phone calls, all the begging for money and votes, all the mail. Urg. Why do we need others to tell us how to think anyway?

I so agree, Lauren. The negative ads totally turn me off. Tell me how you can make my life better, not why your opponent is a scumbag. Sheesh!

Date night is good. Enjoy it. Hubby and I played hooky together today and went to the movies. I predict an Oscar for Clint Eastwood and Steven Spielberg for Flags of Our Fathers. Great book, great movie.

I’m such a popcorn addict that I wish I could bottle up the smell of microwave popcorn popping. (Because I am odd)

And yeah, it is trying to tell people what to think and what’s worse is they’re trying to divert people from the issues to stupid stuff I couldn’t care less about.

Thanks for the recommendation, Lori! I’ve heard great buzz about it.

I think in a head-to-head Popcorn Addict Challenge, I might win, Lauren. My parents used to keep a paper grocery bag filled with popcorn in our cupboards at all time. We were all addicts. Or maybe my folks were just trying to sustain us all as cheaply as possible. Hmm. Must ponder. 😉

LOL, Therese! My mom still uses her air popper that is bright orange circa 1978. Still melts butter in a sauce pan on the stove too.

I’m trying to convince my kids that popcorn balls are better than snickers bars, they are not convinced.
