Now who came up with “bring me my hookah”? Too funny! And you do sound like an 80′s crime fighting duo….Hart to Hart ring a bell? lol. I look forward to future posts…You 2 are a hoot!!
Oh and….oooo ooooo ooooo PICK ME PICK MEEEEEE!!!!
by Tina July 14th, 2008 at 8:21 pm…it was born in my basement. I might have said it first but LD might have done, too. We can’t recall.

by Megan July 14th, 2008 at 8:23 pmI think Megan said it first!
by Lauren July 14th, 2008 at 8:26 pmI don’t know if that’s an office or lounge room, but it’s a terrific idea to have a couch near your computer…so you can collapse at the end of your session. I can has envy…
Keep cool, and have a lovely day!
by Tez Miller July 14th, 2008 at 9:36 pmYe Gods, September til your kidlets go back?
No wonder you’re calling for the hookah.
by Ember July 14th, 2008 at 10:13 pmHey Lauren! Congrats to you and Megan on the new site! Best of luck to you both.
PS. Don’t enter me in the contest as I already have the books.
by Mad July 14th, 2008 at 10:32 pmLove the site! I really like these video blog things…gives us a whole new insight into two of our fave authors. And it’s great to be able to put a face and personality to the names on the covers.
Good luck with the kids! My nephews go back the first full week of August and my sis-in-law can’t wait. LOL
by Jennifer Y. July 15th, 2008 at 2:51 amLove the site! I love laughing first thing in the morning!
by Kim July 15th, 2008 at 8:19 amGreat idea. Love video blogs especially the two together. Can’t wait for teh next installment.
by Christine July 15th, 2008 at 9:54 amOkay, I have to know… Do you write right there (same room as the video)? With the kids bothering you like they were? I have the same kind of set up–and three kids–and I can’t get a damn thing done. How, in God’s name, do you do it?
BTW, I’ve been eyeing the Vegas book for awhile now, so you know…
by Jolie Kade July 15th, 2008 at 9:55 amTez – it’s the front room of my house, right as you walk in the door. I wish I had an office where I could retreat and no one would bug me! But it’s the coolest, darkest room in the house so I like to shove all that promo stuff aside and sit on it while I edit, read, etc.
Ember – yes. September 4 is their first day I believe. But they were in school until June 21 which is later than other kids so I suppose it’s an exchange.
by Lauren July 15th, 2008 at 10:10 amHiya Fatin and Jennifer!
Kim – glad to make you giggle a bit!
Heya Christine!
by Lauren July 15th, 2008 at 10:11 amJolie – I write in here during the day. Which is to say, no, LOL. All my real or substantive writing is done at night in the corner of my bedroom where my desk space is. After my kids are in bed.
I could NOT get writing done with them bugging me all day. I update my website, do my blogs, smaller stuff like edits which can be in chunks, that sort of thing.
by Lauren July 15th, 2008 at 10:12 amLauren, I’m amazed at any tasks moms can do while their kids are home–I can barely do things like put laundry into the dryer! And I quite enjoyed your post–felt right at home
I actually avoid making phone calls during the day now–I inevitably end up having to say things like, “Uh, I’m so sorry, just a moment,” and then chasing down a running naked kid who’s screaming, “Gotta pott-eeeeeeee NOW!” It’s so difficult trying to sound as if you don’t live in bedlam!
by fedora July 15th, 2008 at 12:38 pmHi Lauren, love the new site. You two totally crack me up, and watching your video’s is such a fun way to start the day.
by Cathy M July 15th, 2008 at 4:09 pmWhoo hooo!! For DaneHart.com.
by TESS July 15th, 2008 at 7:32 pmCool new blog, Lauren. You ladies are wacky. Thank God I only teach kids and don’t have them. I need my summers to recover, believe me!!
by Laura K July 15th, 2008 at 8:27 pmCool new site and blog. Hopefully September will get her soon!
by Greta July 15th, 2008 at 9:23 pmCongrats on the new blog! This is going to be fun!
So funny about the misdirected text message. My husband has inadvertently sent texts that were intended for me to one of his soccer buddies (named Chris). More than once. Kinda embarrassing.
by Christine July 16th, 2008 at 10:22 amFedora – the first time I had a phone conversation with my editor at berkley my three year old demanded quite loudly I brush her unicorn’s hair. Ahh, good times.
Cathy – welcome!!
Tess – LOL, indeed!
Laura – oh the idea of a quiet summer, it’s like heaven…
Greta – LOL, thanks, that’s my wish every day!
Christine – well luckily this one was innocent
by Lauren July 16th, 2008 at 11:39 amHi Lauren,
Congrats on the new site…I love it already and have it book marked into my favorites!
So, why was your child…at this point I am assuming that it was your child…although you did send that text message to your husband…taking off their clothes? I can relate to this because my son who is now 13 never really liked to wear clothes and would still prefer…as long as it is just the family…to run around in his boxers and a t-shirt when he is at home.
Again, congrats on the new site.
by Lori T July 17th, 2008 at 12:52 amYou said detective show from 80s and now I can’t get Hart to Hart out of my head.

by Mandy M. Roth July 17th, 2008 at 8:10 am@ Lori T
She needs no reason, she likes to be nekkid or to change her outfit several times a day. Right then she decided the dress she had on had milk on it and needed a new one.
@ Mandy
Totally! But instead of a weird old butler Megan has a houseboy and I have a house man.
by Lauren July 17th, 2008 at 10:15 am@Lauren: I have a yard boy, too. When he doesn’t cancel.
