I’m Heading To Milwaukee!

Hey there, Lovelies!

I’ll be at the Clarion in Milwaukee this weekend for the Barbara Vey Reader Appreciation Weekend and I hope to see some of you there :) I’ll be taking part in bingo on Friday at 10 am so come on in to win fun prizes and say hello.
On Friday night I’ll be at the Author Q&A. This event had me rolling last year as authors choose random questions to answer in front of a live audience. As you might imagine, some of the stuff that gets said is good for a giggle and a great way to get to know people. After there’ll be appetizers and a cash bar. This event is FREE to the public as well.
Then Saturday it’s the big luncheon. I need to tell you I’ve upped my luncheon table game this year so hopefully I won’t be put to shame! The authors at this event get into some brutal competition to have the most awesome table decorations. I can’t wait to see what everyone else has up their sleeve. The event is ticketed and sold out.

I’ve been gathering little bits and bobs for my table gifts over the last year or so (including from Hawaii ;) so I think it’ll be extra awesome.

If you didn’t get your first choice for author table for the luncheon or breakfast, there’ll still be plenty of opportunities to meet and chat with your faves. The Saturday night pizza party is always fun, and don’t forget the Saturday afternoon book signing! AND – there are so many opportunities to mix and mingle, you’re going to meet new author faves as well. I totally did last year, too.

Sunday morning I’ll be breakfasting before I come back to the northwest (and I hope the rain will be gone because I am really sick of it this year!)

Hope to see you in Milwaukee!

I have Crit partners!

I am not feeling as obsessive now, two folks that I respect and trust have offered to be my crit partners. This makes me happy. It’s hard to have someone read your work who isn’t interested in the genre (like … Read More »

The Rebellion of the Muse

So I’m in the middle of one story when the idea for a sequel to Triad pops into my head and pushes everything else aside. This happens to me from time to time, I’ll be working on something but an … Read More »

Phew!

I finally finished my re-edit of Triad and sent it back to Ellora’s Cave. I hope she liked the changes I made. I really worked hard on this and I think the story is better for the changes she suggested. … Read More »

Heard back from EC and they are interested in Triad after I make some editorial changes. As it happens, the suggestions for fleshing out certain aspects of the story are really good and I’d already had notes along those lines … Read More »

Done and done!

It’s off. I’ve just hit send and sent off my synopsis and chapters to Ellora’s Cave. Now I’ll pretend not to be concerned about it until I hear back while I get to Raptor Flight. I’ve put aside Velvet Night … Read More »

Done!

Finished the edit of Room Mates! I had to be ruthless with this edit, there was stuff that was superflous but I liked it, I liked the interaction of the characters a lot in three interconnected scenes and at first … Read More »

Working Day and Night…

There’s so much more than just the act of actual writing to this whole thing. For my wedding anniversary, the man got me a copy of the 2005 Guide to Literary Agents and I’ve been reading up on how to … Read More »

Spent a great deal of time editing Room Mates yesterday. It’s a contemporary romantica story about two guys and a woman. It’s funny but I realize as I’m editing my works in progress, that I’ve got three different threesome stories … Read More »
