Reading Between The Lines Is Now Available!!

Celtic language expert Haley O’Brian is thrilled when she gets the chance to translate a scroll written in Ogham, an ancient Celtic text used in magic and divination. While translating the text, she unwittingly frees Conall macCormac’s Fae soul from a millennia-old curse that kept him imprisoned in a human body, lifetime after lifetime.

The end of the curse is just the beginning of the magic for Haley and the ridiculously sexy Conall. He takes her into the world of his people, the Daoine Sidhe, where she begins to learn of her own Fae heritage, carve out a new path for herself, and embrace her new-found power.

But their happiness is marred by Ninane, the jealous Fae who cursed Conall a thousand years ago. She will stop at nothing to have him for her own, including the murder of Haley’s family.

Determined to bring Ninane to justice, Haley must ask Conall to undergo the ultimate test of love-to stand aside and let her fight her own battles.

Writerly Wednesday Type Entry

So I got my edits for Reading Between the Lines last night and I have to laugh every time I get edits from Angie because she always starts out with an ego stroke and then gets to the stuff she wants me to address. And at first read it always seems way more monumental than it actually is when I go and look at the text notes. But anyway, I got a good start on them and I’ll push through and finish up before I leave for vacation so I have nothing hanging over my head. I’m too big a control freak to just leave stuff undone and it’ll drive me crazy if I don’t finish.

I also managed to completely outline Always - a contemporary, category sensual romance. I don’t usually outline but the more I aim stuff at NY and the more I sell on partial, the more I use outlines and synopses because it’s necessary. It’s especially necessary with category because you’ve only got a certain wordcount to tell a story and you don’t want to overtell some aspects and rob the important stuff.

I don’t do chapter by chapter synopses. I’m just not that detailed becuase I still prefer to let the story flow where it needs to but these days when I get interrupted mid process with other things like edits or galleys, I find I need at least a bare bones outline to get back into the swing of the story.

I’m still pantsing it a lot, but I will admit to finding at least a rough outline very helpful in keeping on schedule and on track.

Tuesday Stuff, Threat of Darkness, Wordcount, Etc…

I finished editing and revising Reading Between The Lines and sent it to my editor, wheee! I’m also up 1305 words yesterday when I began to input all my edits, etc. Tonight I’ll start on Wolf Unbound but I’ve got a book releasing tomorrow and my sister-in-law is coming over to hang out a while with my nephew so the middle part of the day I’ll be making sure no kids kill each other in the back yard.

All told, in the first 15 days of the 70 Days of Sweat Challenge, I’ve written 40,081 words! WHHEEEEE!

Threat of Darkness releases tomorrow from Ellora’s Cave! This is Jayce’s story. Many of you have written to me over the last two years since we met Jayce in a Touch of Fae, asking for his book and so you get it. He’s got to share his story, and his life with Mei nia Aine and Cardinian Leviathan but they’ve both got a lot to say and add to Jayce’s life too. This is related to the Witches Knot series, you’ll see some familiar faces, but it’s standalone and a different group of people for the most part. I hope everyone enjoys this book as much as I enjoyed writing it. This was one of those tricksy books that wants to be something and then you try to fight it because you have other ideas but it won’t fit into the box! I re-started this book from scratch twice because it kept trying to be a menage and I wanted it to be about Jayce and Mei. Once I gave in and let it be a menage, the story just flowed and was really easy to write. I have a very bossy imagination apparently.

A brief excerpt is behind the “more” cut… 18 and over only please.
