Titilating Tuesday

Ah time flies. My oldest child turns ten today. Holy cow, how did that happen? He happily scarfed down four pancakes before scampering off to school with popsicles for his birthday treat thingy. Tonight it’ll be cake and ice cream and the meal of his choosing? Chicken nuggets, fries and mac and cheese. Sigh. Whatever, as long as I don’t have to eat it, everything is fine.

What else? Hmm, oh I finished edits and a revision and got back to Standoff last night and got 2500 words written.

I’m addicted to lolcats. I giggle to myself all day. I have issues. Clearly.

Why is it penis enlargement spam is so gross? I mean, it’s all, overstatement with yucky verbage - lots of jamming and choking and all sorts of stuff women don’t really like. Seriously. Also, flooding the neighborhood with your, um, byproduct? Not sexy. Just sayin. I will say I’m endlessly amused with the spam emailer names. I may use some in a book someday.

OH! Feral Fixation - the anthology which has Reluctant (a prequel quickie featuring Layla Warden from the Cascadia Woves books) is now available in print from the Ellora’s Cave Print store. There are some great stories in this antho!

Reading Between The Lines Is Now Available!!

Celtic language expert Haley O’Brian is thrilled when she gets the chance to translate a scroll written in Ogham, an ancient Celtic text used in magic and divination. While translating the text, she unwittingly frees Conall macCormac’s Fae soul from a millennia-old curse that kept him imprisoned in a human body, lifetime after lifetime.

The end of the curse is just the beginning of the magic for Haley and the ridiculously sexy Conall. He takes her into the world of his people, the Daoine Sidhe, where she begins to learn of her own Fae heritage, carve out a new path for herself, and embrace her new-found power.

But their happiness is marred by Ninane, the jealous Fae who cursed Conall a thousand years ago. She will stop at nothing to have him for her own, including the murder of Haley’s family.

Determined to bring Ninane to justice, Haley must ask Conall to undergo the ultimate test of love-to stand aside and let her fight her own battles.

Tuesday I’ve Got Friday On My Mind

This is potty training central. Sigh. Time number three. This one a girl so I don’t have to constantly redirect penises, which is nice and far less messy. (Again, I know, so glamorous!!). I find myself giving praise for bodily functions, which is, um odd outside of sex, LOL, and no, I don’t give my dude stickers or clap for him, even when he’s got his A game working. She likes to bring her barbie in with her and put her on the back of her seat. Whatever. As long as she doesn’t fall in, I’m game with whatever will get her out of pull ups because after what seems like an eternity of changing diapers (and my oldest will be 10 in November so yeah, a looooong time, each time I get one trained I ended up having another)

I’m in that “in between books” stage. I’m trying to settle in and work on something. I just figured out the opening to dirty/bad/wrong last night and this morning. My husband always listens to me so patiently when I pelt him with my ideas, LOL. And he’s a great sounding board and helps me plot too. I’m also revising something so that’s a task which uses a different writerly brain muscle.

Chased is out in print today! Wheee! I don’t see it listed at My Bookstore and More yet though, grr. It is however, now shipping from barnes and noble!

Even more good news? To Do List will be in a print combo with Jaci Burton’s Unwrapped in September of next year. How freaking thrilled am I? More details as they’re worked out.

Saturdaze

It’s Saturday once again and despite the cold from hell, I had a pretty productive week last week. I finished and fed exed off my revisions for Stripped (whew, big weight off my shoulders). I’m 98% finished with my last run through of To Do List to send to Angie, who is on vacation anyway. Then I’ll work on some chapters for my story, dirty/bad/wrong which is part of a dual author anthology called Risky Business with my buddy Megan Hart. We came up with the idea while in line for some dinner or other at RT in April. Then I have a free month to choose from a few things I need to do (so, um, not actually free, LOL) and I think I’ll work on Second Chances - expand it, tighten it, etc, before I get started on Standoff, the last Cascadia Wolves book coming out April 1.

Vengeance Due is finally up for sale at Amazon.com but not at Barnes and Noble. Chased is up for pre-order at Barnes and Noble but not at Amazon. Sigh. Whatevah, I roll with zee punches, LOL.

Genre bashing is stupid. Insulting readers is suicidal. Duh. I say duh again and also, an ear flick for making fun of the intelligence of my most fabulous readers.

Fire and Rain is Now Available! Oh and A PARTY!

The follow up to Ascension, Fire and Rain, is now available at Ellora’s Cave!

I love this world and this pack. They’re different from my Cascadia wolves and it was a lot of fun to write romantic suspense with a paranormal backdrop. I’d actually planned to write one of the other wolves first but when I wrote Rain, I knew her match would be Laurent. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

And to celebrate - I’m holding down the Cave on the 6th with oodles of excerpts and prizes all day tomorrow! I’ll cruise in at 10 am eastern/ 7 pacific and party until 5 eastern/2 pacific.

Right now I’ve got excerpts from:

Lauren Dane
Rowan West
Beth Kery
Taige Crenshaw
Cindy Gregory
Michelle Pillow
Ann Wesley Hardin
Anny Cook
Charlene Teglia
Heather Holland
NJ Walters
Katherine Kingston
Claire Thompson
Sierra Dafoe
TJ Michaels
Red Garnier

Fabulous list, no? I hope to see you all on the 6th!

Fire And Rain Releases Tomorrow!!

I’ve got a book coming out on Wednesday! This is the follow up to Ascension and is Laurent and Rain’s story…

Rain Foster works as a waitress while working hard to make her career take off. Her paintings are the center of her life until Laurent Cole walks into the cafe. Suddenly she’s dealing with a very alpha male pursuing her and the not so very tiny detail that he’s a werewolf too.

Laurent Cole has been the Third in Command in the Cherchez Wolf Pack for decades. His life is simple, good - but he knows he’s missing something and when he claps eyes on Rain, he knows what it is.

Their coming together is complicated further by the past Rain has worked so hard to keep a secret. Laurent isn’t about to let anyone do his wife any harm and Rain begins to believe Laurent and her new family will keep her safe.

But the world becomes more complicated every day…

Oh and I’m running a contest to win an ARC over at the Ladies of the Club Blog!

Boundless

Today a really fabulous anthology releases! The new releases don’t appear to be up yet but they should be soon. Boundless features three novellas by Annie Dean, Bonnie Dee and Dionne Galace and I was lucky enough to get an early peek and I’ve got to tell you, it’s really good. I’ll do a full send up on Friday for Friday Booktalk but all three stories are my kind of novella with heroines you don’t see every day

Boundless

I lifted the blurby bits from Annie’s site…

Seven Days by Annie Dean
Teresa intends to devote her life to the church, immaculate and untouched. Into her quiet life comes a beautiful devil sent to test her purity and her determination. She is silent prayers at midnight; he is the flash of gold in a gambler’s palm. She has known nothing but service and self-sacrifice. He has known nothing but centuries of carnal sin. Neither know anything about love. If she denies him, she condemns him to eternity in hell. If she yields, she forfeits her soul. Who will emerge victorious? To find out, join Dev and Teresa for Seven Days of temptation.

The Straw Man by Bonnie Dee [re-release]

A lonely woman imagines the perfect man and accidentally conjures him into being on All Hallows Eve. For a single night she has the lover of her dreams, but a night isn’t nearly enough. Can she find a way to turn her fantasy man back to flesh and blood?

Waking Kitty by Dionne Galace

Jack Ridley is an old-fashioned reporter. He doesn’t believe in anything unless there’s a ton of evidence to back it up and even then, he may still have a question or two hundred for it. Until he meets Kitty Jones and falls like a ton of bricks. Suddenly, Jack can’t seem to care that the ducks in a nearby park are turning pink or giant statues of naked men are appearing out of nowhere in the middle of downtown Chicago traffic.

Pink-haired Kitty Jones is beautiful, flirtatious, and seemingly happy-go-lucky. Under the cheerful, self-assured façade, however, she is slowly falling apart. Not only does she suffer from blackouts and wakes up unable to recall where she is or how she got there, she seems to be seeing dragons… everywhere. The only person she can turn to now is Jack Ridley, a tough-as-nails reporter who seems to have a few secrets of his own.

Threat of Darkness Is Out!!!

This is a spin off of my Witches Knot series and a standalone. You’ll see some familiar faces but meet a new cast of characters! It’s now available from Ellora’s Cave.
Blurb: Mei NiaAine spent a three thousand years in a demon prison in the outer circle of hell. Escaping with her life, it’s taken another two thousand years to get her life back together with the help and love of her husband and mate, Card.

Mei is a Warrior For the Balance. She stands between good and evil. So when her boss tells her she’s got to head to Tir na nOg to help the Fae, she is most displeased. Mei’s mother, Aine, the queen of the Fae betrayed and exiled her those millennia ago. Or so she’s been led to believe.

But it was a lie. Aine was mislead by her own sister, Mei’s aunt and suddenly, everything Mei has thought was true for thousands of years falls down around her ears as she looks up to see the face of her husband. Her first husband, a man she’d thought was dead.

Jayce MacTavish is surprised to find that not only is his wife, thought millennia dead, is alive, but his joy is tempered by the
realization that she’s got another mate.

Mei, Card and Jayce must find a way to be together as three while the threat from the Dark Fae and a new enemy darkens the horizon.

Sunday….

Nearly finished with my paper edits on Reading Between the Lines. It’s always hard to know what a story really is until you let it lie for a week or so and then pick it up again. Thank god it makes sense and flows and all that stuff, LOL. I love this couple, Haley and Conall are a lot of fun and Haley really transforms in some ways from start to finish, she’s got to deal with a lot of stuff so her journey was a challenge to write in an authentic way. I think I did it though!

Threat of Darkness releases on Wednesday from Ellora’s Cave. For everyone who’s written me in the last two years asking when I planned to do a story for Jayce macTavish, who we meet in A Touch of Fae - here you go. This is Jayce’s story along with Mei and Card’s as well. Yes, a menage. I did not plan for this book to be a menage. In fact, I re-wrote it from scratch twice but Card wouldn’t let go of Mei! And once I just threw my hands up and said, “Fine! Just do what you want.” and mumbled about them all being so ungrateful, the story really sped along for me. I suppose there’s a lesson in there about just writing the story that wants to be written. And in truth, I absolutely love this book and it turned out better than I’d even imagined.

To celebrate, A List Mom Day!

Please Join: Lauren Dane, Taige Crenshaw, Robin Rotham and Christine d’Abo as we host the Reader Chat for the sweet spot in the middle of the day on July 24th. Between 8 am pacific/11 eastern and noon pacific/ 3 eastern we’ll have excerpts and prizes from:

There’s a contest at The Bradford Bunch and The Dynamic Trio - you may want to check that out. And check in tomorrow for a contest here as well!!

70 Days wise - With my faboo numbers, I’m ahead of the numbers and I’m mainly editing right now. I’ll get some word count when I start to input all my edits and I’ll update then. I’ll be back to writing again by mid week.

OH and a tip - when your nearly 3 year old comes up to you and says, “here momma!” look at what she’s giving you before you take it. Just trust me on that…
