Hey Now!

2015

I know, I’ve been MIA lately – still working to deal with all the aftermath of being ill for a year and trying to learn how to live now with a chronic illness. SO WEIRD!  Anyhoodle, I’ve got a bunch of stuff coming up so I figured a nice grab bag post might just do the trick.

Appearance news:

I’ll be at the New England RWA Chapter’s Let Your Imagination Take Flight conference April 24/25th at the Boston Marriott in Burlington, MA!  Friday the 24th I’ll be doing my USING IT ALL: Writing Sex That Not Only Steams Up the Pages, But Uses the Emotional Magnitude of Intimacy To Drive the Heart of Your Novel workshop as a master class and Saturday I’ll be at the booksigning that is open to the public! Hope to see you there!

May 12-17 I’ll be in Dallas, TX attending the RT Booklovers Convention!  You can click the link to the convention page and search by event or author to see what workshops and panels you might be interested in! There’s a massive book signing on Saturday the 16th that is open to the public as well.

July 22-25 I’ll be in NYC at the RWA National Conference 🙂 There’s a massive booksigning on the 22nd with hundreds of your faves selling books with all the proceeds going to literacy efforts (publishers and authors donate the books so all the money can go to charity)

I’m pretty sure I’ll be attending the SIWC in British Columbia in the fall, but right now I’m waiting to see how the earlier travel goes health wise.

Upcoming Releases:

After a moderately quiet beginning of 2015, starting in May things go gangbusters until the end of the year!

First up is May 19th – where my novella/short novel in the Cherished duology, SWAY will be released as a digital short, apart from the duology. It’s up for pre-order for just $2.99 at BN  Kobo and Amazon.  This is Levi and Daisy’s story.

I love this cover! Fits in well with the Delicious series too.

Then on May 26th, it’s the last Hurley Boys novel, BACK TO YOU – this is a story of second chances and a lot of redemption for both Vaughan and Kelly. It’s up for pre-order at all the major book retailers – Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Kobo (and a cool thing is that the first two books in the series are now on sale for just $4.99 at Amazon!)

Back to You

Back to You

On June 16, the first in my brand new INK AND CHROME series, OPENING UP, releases! Right now the book is just $5.99 in digital for pre-order at Kobo, BN and Amazon

Okay, I’m off to work. I’ll be doing some fun contests soon for ARCs so keep an eye out!

I can’t wait for Sway, Back to You, & Opening Up. I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been ill. One of my other favorite authors has been ill as well. Thank you for taking the time to sign the book plates for me & including some swag in the return envelope. It meant a lot! God bless you as you adjust!

I’m struggling to learn to live with a chronic illness as well and wish you the best in your challenges. The Delicious series was wonderful and I enjoy the carryover into the Hurley Bros series. Hurley #2 was awesome and one of my favs. I look forward to your Ink and Chrome Series this year.

Glad to hear of all the new releases. I watched my brother deal with a chronic disease in his intestines and no the pain and life changes he still lives with every day. I hope you are feeling better.

Lauren, thank you for your happy attitude, your great stories and ability to push on. Stay HAPPY in all you do and I’ll stay HAPPY in all you write. By the way, SWAY is the novella that lead me to you 🙂 Cheers, Ruth

Hi Lauren, Thankyou for the update. So looking forward to your upcoming releases. I am excited that for one at least I am going to be in the USA doing a 5 state, NW Bike riding tour with my husband and a group of friends, so I will not have to wait ages to be able to ‘download’ and read it.
Living with a chronic illness is a challenge. Some things I have learned is use that two letter word “no” without apology, as you need to. Do what you can when you can without guilt. Be gentle with yourself. Prioritise and let anything else go. If only a couple of things from your list, get done in a day, other things will wait or they were not important anyway. Accept offers of help/support when and if you need it, those offering will feel great being able to assist. Take that break when you need to. If others don’t understand, someone else will and a quote I like to keep in mind – “those who mind don’t matter while those who matter don’t mind”. Take care and wishing you all the very best!
