Ask ’em if you’ve got ’em!

Mia asks: will Erin have more kids? Most likely not. She’s over forty at this point and her pregnancy with Alexander was rough. If it happened, she’d welcome it, but Erin has a life full of love and she’s pretty darned happy just how things are.

Suzanne asks: You have strong characters and interesting story arcs, What inspires you? Thank you! Really? Everything inspires me every single day. Music, things I hear on the news, books, television, movies, the world outside, snippets of overheard conversation, moments in my own life, magazines, dreams – the world is rich with ideas really.

Rebecca asks: Hi, Lauren, love all your books. Are we going to keep seeing little flashbacks into the different series and which ones? Thank you, Rebecca! Several of my paranormal worlds are intertwined like the Cascadia Wolves, de La Vega Cats and my Bound By Magick books. In the last two Bound by Magick books you will see a number of members of Cascadia, Mia de La Vega is often their pilot and Max is on their Council of Others. The world of Cascadia and de La Vega reflect the big changes going on in the BBM books as well.

What do you have in the works for new series? I’ve got two things in the works right now and I hope this coming week I can talk about them both! I can say up front that they’re both contemporary. Fingers crossed that this week I can give details on both!

Shelann asks: I love the De La Vega Cats and Cascadia Wolves series. Will there be more books in the series or are they coming to an end soon. If they are coming to an end, do you have a new series (similar) that you will be writing?

Thanks so much! In August, UNCONDITIONAL will release in digital from Samhain – it’s Josh’s story (the Enforcer for the Pacific Pack) and hopefully in 2014 I can return to the de La Vega family!

Dee asks: What is your writing process like? I love the brown siblings and petals series. The browns for instance have music playing a huge role in the series, did you decide to write a story about musicians and their family or was it a family saga that happened to have music in it?

Every character and series has its own ecosystem. Even if it never makes it on the page all my characters have backstories, likes, dislikes, etc. So I knew Erin would love music, along with Adrian because they were musicians. And growing up around that would mean Brody loved music as well. SO it just really came into the process of writing that music is such a huge part of those books. Delicious has a strong food element – it’s the big passion of Jules and Mary both and so that’s a thread in those books. It’s just going to always hinge on who the people I’m writing are, what drives them, moves them, etc. It’s always different depending on what I’m writing.

M – thank you for your kind words! And yes, it is normal to nibble or get hungry while reading Tart! Just wait until LUSH!

Courtney asks: Do you think you will ever go back to the Cherez pack? Maybe for Philip, Ryan and Skye It always makes me happy that the books and these characters are so enjoyed! Unfortunately I don’t write for that publisher any further and the process of taking it elsewhere and having it split between two publishers takes more time than I really have to give. At this point in time I’m finished with the series.

Do you think you would go back to the Federation Series, or are you done with those stories? I do plan to go back to write Wilhelm’s story and I’d like to write one for Deimos as well. But my schedule is booked up through most of 2014 at this point, so it won’t be for another few years 🙂

Lauren, I became a fan with your paranormal writings, then I got curious with your contemporary writings …..another favorite now. I don’t have a question but just needed to drop a line and say very few who write both genres keep my attention and enlist me as a fan like you.

P.S. I kept finding myself nibbling on sweets when reading tart, is that a normal reaction? Lol 😀
