All sorts of updatey type business today!

First – Limecello is raising money and awareness over the famine in the Horn of Africa. You can help just by commenting – but she’s also got some links up to do more. Check it out and do some good!

The wonderful news from last week about hitting the USA Today list has carried into this week. I’m still smiling. I’m still amazed and grateful that FIVE years after the book came out it’s getting exposure to a new audience. Thank you to everyone who has sent me congratulations and well wishes!

I would like for there to be more:

Peach cobbler
Weekends where I get to sleep in until nearly 10
Time with my family when my children aren’t bickering
Time to read
Moments when I remember to tell the people I love how special they are.
Gratitude
Kindness
Civility
Sense of community, no matter what party you’re a member of
Love
Daydreaming
Michael Fassbender in period wear
David Gandy wearing glasses
Well made sci fi movies
Well made (not spatter gore) horror movies
Dancing
Whimsy

And while I’m at it: I would like for there to be no more:

Stories about that skanky “16 year old” and the 51 year old dude who married her. STOP MAKING ME REMEMBER THIS PERSON EXISTS, MEDIA.
Grown women who dress just like their daughters in grade school. Ma’am, it’s bad enough YOU think it’s a good thing to wear a sequin mini skirt at 3 in the afternoon, why do you make your child also dress like you? No. Stop it.
Endless shows about losers who’d never be in my radar unless they drove by in the back seat of a police car (looking at YOU MTV).
Manufactured drama just to sell drama and stay in the public eye.

I was gone and just saw the news about the NY Times Bestseller list. I am so happy to see some of my favorite authors FINALLY getting the recognition they deserve! I have love, love, loved the Chase brothers series. I honestly cannot tell you how many times I’ve read them as I’ve lost count. I am so happy to see that you are returning to Petal. I’ve already pre-ordered Once and Again and am so looking forward to it! Congrats again, you so deserve it!! BTW, you can NEVER have enough Peach Cobbler!!

And I love your list. I agree with all of it! 😉
