2011

I won’t be around much over the next two weeks but I’m going to come by here and update, reply as I can, etc. This week I’m finishing Captivated and next week I’ll be in New York for the RWA National Conference.

I will be updating the blog this week and next and I’ll also be posting pictures to my Tumblr (especially next week while I’m in NYC) which is here and just started. It’s easy to post pics from my phone to the tumblr page so there’ll be more candids and that stuff over there. When I return I’ll get the others posted here.

This weekend I managed to fit in some time to watch Outcasts with the husband via BBC America. I hope it gains a little bit of clarity because it felt to me a little aimless. Lots of assumption that I knew the backstory though it was the first episode. I wasn’t sure why anyone was doing anything. But Jamie Bamber was in it. We also watched Drive Angry on a whim and you know, if you’ve had a few and want to go at a movie all Mystery Science Theater 3000 style, this is your movie. It wasn’t as totally horrible as I imagined, but wow, it was bad. Some good ideas I wished they’d have focused on just sort of wisped away. Lots of random breasts. Lots of people driving awesome muscle cars very poorly and for no apparent reason. I’d totally watch a movie about the Accountant though.

We also started watching Max Headroom for our family nights. We loved it the first time and it looks like the kids do too. Oh the things that seemed so very high tech and futuristic back then! Still totally worth a watch though. Up next is Space Above and Beyond – another sci fi show that got canceled after a piteous period of time and three date and time slot changes that killed the viewership.

Ok, I’m off! Gotta get working (kids are now awake, sigh)

I leave you with Askars – my Vincenz

OMG! Just realized my daughter is old enough to appreciate Max Headroom. SQUEEE! Thanks for helping me remember that series…I remember staking out the tv in the common room freshman year of college so that I could watch it.
