I got a call from my most wonderful agent with the news that I’d just sold a novella in a duology (two author anthology) for Berkley! Even better? This one is with the most wonderful and fabulous Maya Banks (who just in case you can’t tell by now, I adore). This is a contemporary, BDSM themed duology and it’ll release in June of 2012. Not a lot more at this point – but I’m really looking forward to it.

Reviews for SECOND CHANCES and INSIDE OUT are starting to come in so thank you to everyone who’s taken the time to not only read the books, but review them!

Lori at IJFR says this of INSIDE OUT: Lauren Dane has written yet another wonderful family drama. To many, family means mother, father, children, siblings, etc. To some, being pro-family might mean not having an alternative marriage or lifestyle. It might mean no sex before marriage. It might mean that you shouldn’t choose to be gay. (And yes, that last one was said with my tongue firmly planted in my cheek.) But in this series, family is more than a traditional nuclear family, although Ben and Cope are brothers, and Erin, Adrian, and Brody are siblings, and Ella has a great (by the end) relationship with her parents. Together, all these friends and their spouses (spice?) and their siblings make up one big happy extended family. To suggest otherwise is just ridiculous. These people love and care for one another. They are there through thick and thin. They put each other’s needs before their own. They gossip about each other and act silly. They share all their major life events. They listen to each other being unreasonable and still love them anyway. That’s family. It sings loud and clear from the pages. This sense of family pervades every book that Dane writes, whether it be about shapeshifters, witches, small-town America, futuristic sci-fi, or (never) boring suburban life. It’s one of the reasons I gravitate to her as an author.

This makes me a little sniffly.

This story is very emotional and had me in tears in several places. (And there is one part of the story that had me bawling.) That is my favorite thing about a Lauren Dane book – the emotion. I don’t think I’ve read any of her stories without at least tearing up at one part or another. The stories come to life and the reader cares about what happens to the characters – good or bad. The Book Girl

Second Chances is a tantalizing, compelling story about acceptance, unconditional love, trust, and friendship that will push the boundaries of your emotions while physically have you begging for more with the sensual, yet explosive sex scenes. Bravo Ms. Dane! You’ve hit a home run with Second Chances and I’d definitely recommend it to my friends. Blackraven’s Reviews

I couldn’t put it down–read it all in one sitting. Ms Dane has demonstrated considerable flare in putting this work together–good plot, interesting storyline, strong characters that the reader can relate to, a great ending, and enough surprises to keep any reader’s interest. It is the stuff of which good fiction is made. All in all, it is a terrific read. I give this novel a 4.5 out of 5. Dr. J’s Book Place

This is such an emotional rollercoaster; full of a whole lot of smoking sexiness, wild and crazy attraction, tender love, heartbreak, sweet friendship, hope, simple happiness and more smoking sexiness. You’ll certainly need a box of tissues. Just Penned

I just read that review at IJFR and it made me go back and reread Coming Undone. You know, when I was supposed to be making a birthday cake. Oh, and dinner. But hey, I couldn’t stop reading it! I can’t wait for Inside Out. And the new Second Chances (which is, I think, my favorite of your books).
