Returned from the Emerald City Writer’s Conference and back to work. What a fabulous time I had! Didn’t go to a single workshop, but as always happens when I’m around other writers, I am so recharged and excited to get back to my book! I have pictures I’ll put up later this week, but today is a quick drive-by because my parents are flying in tonight. They’re staying a week and I’ll be tidying (HA! Cleaning like a madwoman) today.

I’m going into the last third of Goddess With A Blade now. I’m hoping to be done by the end of the week with the first draft and get it all polished next to turn in mid-month. I love this book so much! Love the characters and the world and it has been a wonderfully creative process writing this one. The book is urban fantasy with a a romantic sub-plot. Rowan, my main character is a hard ass with a complicated past, oh and she’s also the vessel for the goddess Brigid, which helps because it’s her job to police the vampires in Las Vegas. And these Vampires are no fluffy bunnies. In any case, when I get a blurb I’ll toss it out here 🙂

Less than a month to go until INSIDE OUT releases! Yay! I’m so thrilled to get this one out there and I hope hope hope people love Cope and Ella as much as I loved writing them. Ah, and just a few weeks until SECOND CHANCES releases from Carina – getting some early reviews now, which is always exciting. I probably should mention many of the folks who read it have said they needed tissues, LOL. It does have some sad scenes in it, just FYI. But I hope the ending is uplifting and makes up for the sad.

Wanna win a copy of SECOND CHANCES? Well good, because I’m going to give one away today (October 5). All you need to do is reply with your plans for this weekend or next weekend, whatever, and I’ll choose a winner from the comments. This is a DIGITAL book, FYI. I’ll post the winner at 5 pm pacific time. Good luck

WINNER IS COMMENT #16: JESSICA! Jessica, send me your email so I can get the book your way. Congrats!

Hey Lauren! I am so counting down until Nov 2nd. I may have to reread Laid Bare and Coming Undone to get myself ready for Inside OUt. It’s on my list of books I want for my birthday Nov 7th. My husband has strict intructions and he better listen 😀

My husband is working this weekend so the kiddos 7 and 4 and I will probably hit the pumpkin patch. I also have the first season on The Vampire Diaries on DVD to watch so we’ll be busy.

Looking forward to Second Chances. I love a good emotional story. Take care.

My daughter’s B day is Oct 11th ~~ she’ll be 18! So we’re going to have a celebration weekend ~ going to see the new movie Secretariat, going to Huber’s Farm to pick pumkins (she still loves to do this!) and she wants to eat at Outback, so we’ll probably do that on the way home from Huber’s. Then family get together Sunday! It will be a busy weekend!

Well I’m getting my Halloween display up in my window this weekend. I haven’t done it in a few years but I am energized to put it up. I have several dolls, bears and a haunted house that will fit perfect in my front window. Also it’s fall baseball season so we have a game. And it’s starting to get cooler so I need to start changing out the summer clothes for the fall and winter clothes. And the usual shopping, laundry & cleaning.

We’re in a new house, so this weekend I plan to continue organizing and unpacking, and I have to find a new route for my 10-mile run on Saturday. I also need to carve the pumpkin, and put up all my spiffy Halloween decorations. And sleep. I’ll need to sleep eventually. And probably work, since I spent most of yesterday watching a repair guy do his magic on the phone wires in our house for our DSL. 🙂 Pizza is definitely on the menu. No delivery out here in South Middle Nowhere but my husband will drive to the pizza place and bring it home. 🙂

    Thanks for the contest!

Gawd, you ALWAYS have the sexiest covers!! Me and hubby even have conversations about them, which I think is hilarious since he hasn’t read a book since high school, but the minute I get one of yours he grabs it and gives me his opinion LOL
This weekend I will be (hopefully) hanging the pictures in our new house. And doing all the joyous activities that mommies do – dishes, laundry, cleaning…oh and decorating, but that’s fun 😀

Taking the wee one to swimming lessons…laundry…grocery shopping. So not exciting. Last weekend was much more exciting — trip to the mountains, carriage ride, out to lunch, sitting in a cafe. Hmmmm, maybe should try to repeat that!

This weekend, besides watching baseball playoffs, I am demanding a trip to Apple Hill. I love the freshly picked apples, craft sales and tons of junk food at every stop. When we get home I am baking apple pie and READING. It sounds like the best way to spend a fall weekend.

I was just informed by the spouse that we will be cleaning, playing football with the kids and I think he mentioned poker and eating out.

I’m down with eating out but can pass on the rest. The outdoors and I just don’t see eye to eye and as my middle kids says… outside is boring.

I get to read this weekend. Last weekend I had groceries and all that boring household stuff. But this weekend hubby and my two boys have scout stuff to do. God I love scouts the boys go do fun stuff with other boys and their dads and I get the weekend free to read. So everyone has a great weekend.

We currently have nothing planned for the next two weekends. We were gone last weekend and have three more trips planned for the next seven weeks including Myrtle Beach and Orlando. We’ll probably spend time cleaning the house and working in the yard this weekend. I’m hoping the weather will be beautiful so that we can spend some time outside.

Well my son is graduating from the Police Academy tomorrow, but since the ceremony is on a work day, and yes, I already asked why, lol. Well anyway, my sister’s coulnd’t make it up, so the whole family is throwing a party for him on Saturday. Lots of fun stories, food and laughter, and proud mama moments.

Well I don’t know of any plans this weekend, but next weekend we are going to Karissa’s college of choice for a personal tour. She has been there for their open house. She has been accepted there but she has to come up with a way to pay for it. LOL.

I was wondering what the new bound by magic series will be about? Will it be about kendra and renee reaching out to other witches or about the providence clan or will it be a new series completely?
