When you’re a half incubus, your reputation precedes you…
All eyes are on Gabriel Mac Braire the day he makes his first appearance in the Seelie Court, including those of Aislinn Finvarra. Despite deep bitterness over her last failed relationship, Aislinn cannot help but be curious about the half incubus who is known to possess dark magick, both lethal and sexual in nature. Rumors abound of the women who have become enslaved to his irresistible charms.
So when the Summer Queen of the fae orders Aislinn herself to act as his guide in the court, she is understandably on guard. She’s fallen under the spell of far less persuasive men before. In addition, Gabriel might be more than he seems and his true mission is far from innocent.
This time, Aislinn must protect not only her heart, but her very life…

My favourite kind of heroine is the I-Don’t-Need-a-Man Heroine. A prime example is Futurama‘s space captain, Leela. She doesn’t need love to have a happy ending. After all, in that famous episode where she was down because of her lonely life, she had a one-night-stand with Zap Brannigan, and surely regretted it. But she filled the void in her life with pet Nibbler, and continued to be awesome 😀

I like a heroine who can take care of herself,strong,knows herself and her limits.But in times of need can also ask other for help.

I like a heroine who can take care of herself and doesn’t “need” a man, but wants one. It’s even better if she doesn’t realize just how important that one guy will be to her and how much he can help her feel completed.

I like very independent, tough-chick heroines who are secretly very much softies.
Nora Robert probably writes the best heroines, she knows just how to straddle the line between tough and bitchy, LOL.
I also really like Kim Harrison’s Rachel Morgan and I love the old Anita Blake-before she got all horny and stuff 😛

My favorite heroines are always kick ass with a snarky mouth but she needs a few flaws to be perfect! Like Kate Daniels by ILona Andrews for example. She always gets herself into trouble and never shies away from the big bad Beast Lord!

My favorite type of heroine is a partner to hero. She stands on her own two feet and doesn’t need him rescue her. They work together. They are a compliement to each other.

I love a kicking ass and taking names kind of heroine but sometimes I think her flaws make her character. Nobody’s perfect right? 😉
An example would be maybe Damali in L.A. Banks Huntress series.

Well, who doesn’t like an ass kicking female who can bring the hero to his knees physically and emotionally? 😆 But I also like a heroine who is strong but doesn’t have to be an ass kicker. Claire from the Outlander Series or Lady Saura from Christina Dodd’s Candle in the Window.

We see so many flawed heroes, that I find it interesting to see flawed heroines. Ones who are fighting against love because they don’t want to get hurt or who feel that they have other responsibilities that are more important than a love-life.

I like the woman who are strong and real…they have their flaws they are not necessarily Ok with it but she’ll be damned if she shows it to just anyone.
Patricia Briggs does it well with Mercy. She knows her strengths and her weakness and uses them to her advantage. She has proven over and over she doesn’t need a man BUT she is stronger and more complete with one. I’m also enjoying Shelly Laurenston’s “Go Fetch†right now . Miki surely doesn’t need a man but when she finds the right one it is nothing short of greatness for her.

My favorite heroine is just your seemingly average person but one who has an inner core of steel, a quiet strength of spirit, and a compassionate heart. One of my favorites is Xylara of the Borderlands trilogy by Elizabeth Vaughh.

I like my heroines to be strong, but strong enough to yield. Come to think of it, I like my heroes that way too. You did an awesome job of this with both Elise and Brody, BTW. 😉

It depends really, I like the ones that can be all kick-ass, but I still want them sweet and vulnerable. Not too angry and I do not like divas. So feet on the ground.

Sad that the Nook is not available for Candians but such is life. LOL
As for heroines…I like them not whimpy or needing to be saved by a man. I like the ones that “want” a man but not “need” a man.
I do not like the Dominatrix women though. I actually prefer them to be Submissive behind closed doors but totally in control in the real world.
You know the scenes in movies when a man and a woman are running from a villian and then the woman always falls or stumbles…GOD I HATE THAT. I like it better if they were matching stride for stride.

I like smart heroines who are used to taking care of themselves, but don’t necessarily have a huge hangup about having to be alone. I loved Kyra in Ava Gray’s Skin Game–very much used to being alone, and it was lovely to see how she adjusted to having someone be a part of her life.

or of course one who is smart and beautiful and cares about ppl and doesnt leave until they help that person — like in anya’s book Witch Blood (Isabelle)

My favorite kind of heroine is smart, capable, but also relatable. She’s not perfect. Examples? Min Dobbs in Bet Me (by Jennifer Crusie). Trina Roberts in Underfoot by Leanne Banks. Isabel Favor in Breathing Room by SEP.

I like tough, rough, and tumble heroines. They can roll with the punches and not get a squeamish (is that a word?) when they see blood and severed limbs.

Love the strength of character that JD Robb gives Eve Dallas. She is strong both mentally and physically, smart, loyal, committed to do anything 100%, can kiss ass when needed, and adores Roarke. She is not perfect, but is growing as a person and as a lover, and I love reading about that kind of personal growth.

😀 I love kick butt heroines like Eve Dallas in JD Robb Naked series-she is in charge but yet she has her flaws and that I really adore. I love Patricia Briggs Mercy thompson who is plucky and couragous. And I am really getting into Ilona Andrews character of Mercenary Kate Daniels and her in charge professional life but vunerable private life and her expanding base of friends and possible bf.
I have more authors I can name but I will leave it with those 😀
