Friday Booktalk!

Sort of a slow week for reading as I’ve been dealing with household stuff and writing. But I did finish Kindred in Death, which is my favorite of the last say, five or so Eve books. Roberts/Robb does a great job in this one with the balance of story and romance – great growth for the people we’ve grown to love over the series. A wedding coming up, some lovely scenes with Mira and Peabody, Eve and Roarke seem to be on their stride again after Roarke’s total jerk behavior some books ago.

Really when I read any Nora Roberts book I’m reminded of the power of good storytelling. Eve is such an interesting character and Roberts has given her life. Roarke as well. With these characters and this series, the growth has been incremental and subtle in all the right ways.

I’ve got piles of books in my TBR pile and I just ordered a Nook reader to continue my addiction!

Okay so because it is Friday and we do talk books today – I’ve got an ARC of COMING UNDONE – want it? Just reply to this post with a book you’ve recently loved and why. I won’t count any entries that just say “I want the book” or whatever (been getting a lot of that lately). It’s fun and easy! I’ll choose a winner by noon pacific tomorrow 11/14 and yep, international entries are definitely ok!

My last was Pleasure ~The Shadowdwellers by Jacquelyn Frank.
I love these books & hope there are many to come. I think she’s conveyed a richer view of the society in these, and the characters are much deeper. You get more of a layered veiw of the reasons behind all the characters actions & emotions.. Your pulled in fast & quickly are tied to the characters. There is a lot going on around the main romance, but it enhances in these stories. Just love them.. was glad Sagan’s & Quin’s stories weren’t held off, but do wish they were longer.. 2 in one book was just too short for me.
P.S. I want the book… lol.. sorry had to.
Honestly I would love to win a copy of Coming Undone. Thank you for giving us all a chance. Good luck everyone.

I haven’t been reading allot lately (sadly) but what I read recently that I really enjoyed is ‘How to Tame a Modern Rogue’ by Diana Holquist. Its the first book I’ve read by her, and it really made me smile and sigh and laugh, so all those things are good points when reading a book 🙂

I have been doing a lot of re-reads and just finished re-reading Linda Howard’s mackenzie series. Loved Game of Chance.

I can never pick just one!

I agree completely on Kindred In Death. I haven’t enjoyed a Robb book that much since Origin In Death.

I also really loved Bound To Shadows by Keri Arthur. It had an ending that I didn’t see coming and reminded me why I keep reading this series.

I hope that I am not too late to submit. I just finished “Possess Me At Midnight” by Shayla Black. Why did I love it? Well pretty much anything Shayla Black publishes I love but specifically I loved this story because it was a continuation of her Doomsday Series. I totally love when there is a group of characters that an author has created and she continues to publish stories about each member of the group. I had a feeling since the first book that the two main characters in Possess Me At Midnight would be good together and they certainly were!
