That is truth about everything in life if you want something do it. It’s not going to get done by itself. Or as I tell my husband & the kids the magic fairies are not doing all of this work around the house. Stop waiting for the for your life to get better make it happen yourself.

I love this because this is true about so many things in life. Whining about it won’t get it done. Nike wasn’t stupid when they went with “Just Do It” as a slogan. Life happens every day to every person. What ever you are trying to do, just do it. I live this motto every day of my life. Great blog :).

No magic beans, huh? Well there goes my career as a writer *g* Seriously, I have no ambition to be a writer. I don’t have the drive, dedication, or talent to do it. I’m very happy to be just a reader. So for you, and Jaci Burton, and all the other authors that have resisted life’s interruptions, sat your butt in the chair, and brought the books to my greedy little hands, thank you! What you create never fails to amaze me.

Writing isn’t a competition, it’s a job. Use the challenges to hone your skills, not as an excuse not to finish, not as an excuse not to write until the start date, and not as a way to compare yourself to anyone else and use that as a reason to quit. You can’t finish if you quit. Power through. Finish the book and let that be your award. Then open a new document and start the next project. And so on.

I used to be the queen of unfinished WIP’s! Then I got a BFF who was always reading my stuff and wanted updates so that everytime I saw her (and even talked to her on the phone cause she would want me to read what I had so far over the phone!) she always asked me if I had written any more and I felt guilty if I didn’t. So she held me accountable! If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have gotten to that first The End.

After I knew I could do it the first time, it became easier to power through and discipline myself to finish the next one and the next one.

Sometimes it’s like pulling teeth, other times it the best feeling ever but this is what I want to do for the rest of my life and I know I can, so I do.
