Today’s prize via the fabulous Cynthia Eden: Belong to the Night—Autographed ARC, Cover flat, and “Dream” bookmark (perfect to help with your reading fun!)

BELONG TO THE NIGHT…

Wanna know where the real wild things are…and what they like to do there?

This paranormal anthology (due out in September of 09 from Kensington Brava) features three sexy tales:

“The Wolf, The Witch, and Her Lack of Wardrobe” by Shelly Laurenston:

Jamie Meacham has enough trouble controlling her supernatural abilities. There’s no time for lust, or for Tully Smith, even with his smoldering amber eyes. But Tully’s grappling with his own animal instincts as a powerful shifter-wolf, trying to protect all his territory-including a certain sassy witch-from vicious rivals.

“In the Dark” by Cynthia Eden:

FBI agent and leopard shifter Sadie James’ undead ex, Liam, still arouses her deepest desires, distracting her from tracking the brutal rogue shifter who is terrorizing Miami. By teaming up with Liam, Sadie has a better chance of solving the case, but as passion consumes them, she stands to lose more than just her heart.

“City of the Dead” by Sherrill Quinn:

Dori Falcon is a witch with a plan: get to New Orleans, locate her missing brother, and recover the Eye of Bastet, a mysterious and powerful amulet. Her plan never included falling for sexy Cajun copy Jake Boudreau; but without his help, she may never find the demon who has her brother, and the key to her family’s survival.

***

But why wait until September to read the anthology? Thanks to Lauren’s contest, you can win an ARC of this anthology right now. And the flair that goes with the ARC? A “Dream” bookmark with the Henry David Thoreau quote of: “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams.” Come on, book readers have to love bookmarks, right?

And here’s a peek at “In the Dark” (hope you enjoy the peek!):

Her dead lover stood on the other side of the bar, rubbing his hand against the back of some long-legged redhead and looking very much alive.

Sadie James drew in a deep breath. Caught the scent of smoke. Expensive perfume. Sweat.

I went to that jerk’s funeral. Cried over his grave. A grave he didn’t seem to be occupying.

She’d even taken flowers to the graveside.

The redhead laughed. Tossed back her head. The man turned, braced his hand against the wall behind her head and leaned in even closer to her.

Rage had Sadie’s back teeth grinding together.

She stalked across the bar, elbowing dancing men and women out of her way. Her fingers curled, and a hard fury tightened her body.

Two years. For two damn years she’d thought he was dead. While he was out there screwing redheads. Redheads who wore really trashy pink dresses.

He was bent over the woman now. His mouth poised over her throat.

Sadie was going to rip the bastard apart.

The redhead laughed. A high, tipsy giggle.

Sadie growled.

And even though she was still at least ten feet away, and the music blaring from the band jumping on stage was ear-splitting loud, Liam Sullivan stiffened. His dark head snapped up. He spun around, scanning the crowd.

His eyes, too damn blue and bright for a dead man, locked on her. She saw his stare widen and his lips began to curve into a smile—

A smile she’d knock off his still too-handsome face. “Liam.”

I don’t remember my dreams – good or bad. I always wish I could though.

The only dreams I ever remember are the very odd ones like being chased by dinosaurs or my house being in the middle of the ocean and sharks surrounding it

I usually dream about traveling back in time, sometimes Regency England, sometimes the Scottish Highlands, sometimes ancient Rome.
I think I read too many historical romances 😉

OK two of my favorite authors in one book: Shelly Laurenston and Cynthia Eden, I just picked up Midnight’s Master and haven’t even had the chance to start reading it yet. The dream that I seem to have the most often in the past year is strange but most of my dreams usually are. In this one I am driving to work in a car( not my own) and I crash into a BIG truck in front of me, the truck is white, huge but iI can’t see any writing on it; and that’s when I wake up.

I don’t usually remember my dreams. The last one I remember was about Josh Groban and a deserted island.

I have been listening to his music when it is bedtime and he found his way into my subconscious.

Well, a favorite daydream is to be safe & secure with all my family the same and not having to worry incessantly about the daily grind.
As far as a dream was one about a super hot dark latin lover that as I awoke seemed as if it had truly happened…that dream stayed with me alllll day long!!!!

I don’t usually remember my dreams but the last one I do remember I was some sort of secret spy and all the bad guys were after me. I was always able to get away. And of course there were explosions like I was in an action movie.

I can usually remember my dreams pretty well…at least I remember some of them. However they are never normal, like what other people dream about. They always are much more surreal, almost like Savlidor Dali, but a dream.

And I almost never dream about people I know, and the dreams could never happen in the real world. They are much too complex to get into in a comment and frankly don’t know that it would make much sense to anyone, since they don’t usually make sense to me.

Don’t know what that says about me 🙂

I won a contest to meet and have a date with Kevin Sorbo. (Hercules) Of course this was many years ago…but won’t ever forget how real the dream was.

Most bizzare was the dream I still have occasionally about being at a fancy hotel with glass elevators and it falls. Of course I have to be in it, as it is. BUT, I have had this dream on and off for my whole life!

Won’t be riding in any glass elevators!

my favorite dream? well it’s usually x-rated, but the parts i CAN tell you about are definitely full of a hot steamy demon-ish guy. after Cynthia’s month of demons, i’m still having a hard time thinking (or dreaming) of anything that isnt dark and sexy and oh so tempting. whether its a rage demon from a Kresley Cole novel or a demon hunter or even sometimes the bad guy in the book, i’m hot on his tail in my dreams  and i dont think it’ll stop anytime soon, let’s just hope my husband can keep up 😉

The only dreams I remember are prophetic. The strongest was a guy I didn’t know – later, my step cousin – who got stuck on top of a roller coaster at Great Adventure in NJ – before Great Adventure even existed!

I don’t remember a lot of dreams either, but I’ve had many good ones involving Angel from the spin off series of Buffy and Angel–do you all remember him? Trying to make him have a “perfect moment”.

I usually do not remember my dreams when I sleep, I am such a deep sleeper. Now my daydreams are another story – they are sometimes as fantasy filled as the books I read, where the people around me are actually werewolves or vampires masquerading as humans, or fairies or elves in disguise. Maybe that is why they are called “daydreams?”

I have a lot of dreams where it’s in this kind of post apocalyptic world and I end up being the only hope for mankind. I’m usually wearing black leather in my dreams and I totally kick butt.

I don’t remember most dreams, but one I always remember is the when I dream of levitating and/or flying about the room. I remember beng both scared of falling if I go too far and try to go out the door away from the bed, but also intrigued with the idea of flying about. Recurs at times, but haven’t had this one recently.

Gosh, I rarely remember my dreams. I can’t even remember the last dream I had at this point! But one I used to have a lot – haven’t had it in a while, thank goodness! – was early on in my career as a freelance court reporter. I’m on my way to a deposition, walking along a canal bank (don’t ask, I have no idea why!) and suddenly I lose the grip on my steno machine case and it slips down the bank, stopping about halfway. I lie on my stomach and reach down to grab it – it is in reach! – and as my fingers go to curl around the handle, it starts sliding again! Now I can’t reach it and I’m going to be late. What do I do??? I panic. I watch as it slips further. And then I wake up!

Never did get a resolution on that dream. LOL, I’m assuming because as the years went by and I gained more experience, my nervousness and anxiety left me where I just do my job now and don’t worry anymore!

I’m one of the people that I know I dream, but can never remember what it was about. I know that it is either good or scary and that is about it.

I love dreams. I dream and remember them maybe 4 to 7 times a week. I’ve had the dream where i fall off something and wake up, falling off my bed. Lately, my dreams have been a family member and i really yelling it out and then another is me meeting my soulmate and our life together, though i never remember what he looks like.

Sometimes I dream of strange worlds and sometimes of my family. Its weird how they all get mixed up. However, most times I can’t remember my dreams. Boring, huh?

My dream is laying on a nice beautiful beach just enjoying the sun and peace and quiet. While watching the ocean and the waves and reading in between the loads of relaxing time. I always dream of warm places…not a big fan of the cold.

I don’t usually remember my dreams. However there is one that recurs on a regular basis and that one I do remember and wish I didn’t. In it I am entering a school and get sent to a classroom with a message. Then for some reason I always get lost and end up outside in a strange town or country. I then spend hte rest of the night looking for the classroom/school and wake up feeling tired 🙁
