Day One (Undercover Bookgasm Contest)

Today’s book is actually TWO books – Jaci Burton’s Riding Wild and Surviving Demon Island!

Riding Wild is book #1 in Burton’s Wild Riders series

He’s a Harley-riding ex-thief…she’s a gun-toting ex-socialite. Together they’ll take the ride of a lifetime in this erotic romance from “an undoubted master.”*

Mac Canfield was the last man Lily West expected to see again, never mind aim her gun at. But there he was, the bad boy who’d broken her heart years ago-still a thief, hijacking a priceless artifact-and it was all she could do to push aside the memories of how it felt to have his perfectly chiseled body next to hers.

Mac was no less shocked to see the beautiful girl next-door again, threatening to shoot him. Little did she know she was blowing his cover. He had to get her out of harm’s way without succumbing to his desire to take her on a hot trip down memory lane.

But Lily has no intention of going anywhere with Mac, which means he’ll have to resort to kidnapping. Unless she agrees to let him take her for the kind of ride destined to drive them both unbelievably wild.

Surviving Demon Island is Book One in Burton’s Demon Hunters series

Saving Demon Island

She’s all curves and combat boots.

He’s six feet of lean, dangerous male.

Join them in a game of survival.

That’s as real – and hot – as it gets.

What’s America’s top female action star doing on a tropical island shrouded in secrecy? To Gina Bliss, competing in a survival-type reality show is a nice change from fending off on-screen villains. Until she meets real-life action hero Derek Marks. A survival specialist in a tight black T and sexy stubble, he’s arousing every bad-boy fantasy she’s ever had…and testing her survival skills to the max.

Martial arts, jungle warfare – Derek’s done it all. But his latest mission is more dangerous than a stick of dynamite. Try telling that to the sexy, adrenaline-pumped actress who’s got his libido racing off the charts. As the heat rises between them and real-life violence erupts, suddenly Derek and Gina are on the run…and when they uncover a secret so explosive it could blow the lid of their so-called reality show, these two unlikely heroes are about to discover what surviving’s really about….

  1. YAY!! DAY 1 AND I’M THE FIRST TO COMMENT :) Congrats on your almost release!!
My fav. bad boy is Zadist in JR Ward’s BDB he’s all rough and edgy but then he meets his mate and softens up a bit :) love it!

  2. My favorite bad boy right now is Shock from Shayla Black’s Tempt Me With Darkness. I know he doesn’t seem like a good guy but oh I have such high hopes for him and I can’t wait.

  3. Lord knows there are so many to pick from bot if I have to pick one I would pick Roarke. B/c even though he has gone legimate now underneath it all he’s still a bad boy and always will be.

  4. My current favorite bad boy of fiction?

Japhrimel – the Greater Flight demon from Lilith Saintcrow’s Dante Valentine series. :D He’s hot, he’s a demon, and he can stop a gang of street punks with a look. What’s not to love?

    K

  5. My Husband!!! Oops..not fictional..O’Kayyyy

    um..Z’s already named sooooooo…..uh, uh..

Stryker!! Guess we know which book I just finished!-LOL

    Dana

  6. The first one that comes to mind is Roarke from the in death series (J. D. Robb). More so in the earlier books.

  7. Well, of course Roarke, but there’s also Ben Lewis from Linda Howard’s Heart of Fire and… shoot, I know there are more, but I think I need more coffee now.

  8. Hummm, my favorite bad guy who’s a good guy….. I’d have to say right not it’s Zarek from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark-hunters. I haven’t read Stryker’s book yet so I’m not sure if I’ll love him.

There are others but I’m blanking on his name. Linda Howard wrote a gun runner who was doing that to help his daughter who had a health issue. He was a bad guy but for a good reason. I can not think of his name for the life of me. It was a great book and he wasn’t the hero but a secondary character, maybe someone else can remember his name.

    hugs,
    WendyK

  9. So many to choose from … James Malory from Johanna Lindsey

  10. There are so many to choose from. As I was looking at the bookshelf Caine Allen from Caine’s Reckoning by Sarah McCarty jumped out. Mind you that can change as I read about the other members of The Hell’s Eight

  15. My favorite is St. Vincent from Lisa Kleypas’ “Devil In Winter.”

  16. ooo, good question.

  18. Lisa Kleypas’ hero Lord St. Vincent.

  19. I am on a Showalter kick, and love all of the Lords of the Underworld; but I have to admit Reyes would be top of my list.

  21. My current favorite bad boy is Val Janos from Ultimate Weapon. Shannon McKenna does great bad boys with hearts of gold

  23. Both of these books sound so good. Please choose me

  24. Oh this is a good one. I happen to love Bad Boys gone good. LOL I have to go with the first one I ever read and fell in love with that was Brandon in the Flame and the Flower. Kathleen E. Woodiwiss is the reason I love romance as much as I do and even though the style has changed from when she brought romance to the forefront
I still go back and read her books.

  25. Cash from Slow Heat in Heaven by Sandra Brown.

  26. I know someone mentioned GRIMM from Karen Marie Moning’s Highlander series but I would have to go with Adam Black from that same series.

  27. This is hard there are so many to pick from.. I guess I’ll have to go with my first fav and thats Zarek from the DH series

  28. The Flame & The Flower – and Brandon. This was my first ever romance and I loved it. I got it from the library 3 or 4 times before I decided I needed to put it on my own bookshelf. It was the first of what would become hundreds of my “keeper” treasures.

  29. My favorite bad boy of all times would have to be Rhett Butler from GWTW.

  30. Wow, bad boys who are secretly good guys are the best! I was trying to pin point which one I liked the most when I read through others choices and saying “Oooh yeah, that one, ooh most definitely that one.”

It’s just soooo hard to choose just one. Japhrimel from Lillith Saintcrow’s Dante Valentine… I fell for him instantly.

James Malory of Johanna Lindsey, he’s such an ornery man. Gotta love him. He makes the series fun.

    Zarek and Stryker for sure.

And I have to agree with Klypepas’s St. Vincent. His book is my all time favorite of that series

  31. Japh from Lilith SaintCrow’s Dante Valentine series.

  32. Mercury from mercury’s war…gotta love a sexy shifter, that is also ex miltary has such a sweet inner soul…ahh make me drool

  34. I have two that are tied – Maddox from The Darkest Night by Gena Showalter and Roarke from JD Robb’s In Death series.

  36. I really love those bad boys! I would have to thsrf mine is Zsadist from J.R. Wards Black Dagger Brotherhood sereies!

  37. Roarke from the in death series, of course!

  38. My favourite is a toss up between Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Zarek, and Gena Showalter’s Maddox.

They’re both such bad ass warriors but they’re secretly softies

  39. I would have to say Eric Northman (6′4″ blond Viking sex god) from Charlaine Harris, THE SOOKIE STACKHOUSE aka SOUTHERN VAMPIRE SERIES.

He’s so bad in so many ways but oh so good when it counts…

  40. I’m going with Deke Trenton in Decadent by Shayla Black!!

  41. I have so many favorites… I guess I’m gonna have to say the bad boys from Gena Showalter’s books… I just can’t pick one! lol
