Booktalk wise I’ve been devouring the Deadly books by Brenda Joyce and now I’m smack dab in the middle of a historical period. I want to read more now. It’s funny how that happens. Sometimes you just don’t want to read a contemp or a historical and other times you just love to.

Anyway books two and three:

Deadly Pleasure: I’m gonna be honest and say up front, the mystery aspect in this one played secondary to the intertwining personal lives of the cast of characters. Which was actually fine with me. I think Joyce has done a great job with these characters.

Bragg makes a confession near the end that seriously made me gasp and then pout. There’s some wonderful tension between Francesca and Rick that I found believable and I LOVE the push pull thing.

Some things left hanging in book one get revealed, ripping some foundations down and I’m fascinated to see where it all goes.

And Deadly Affairs: Book three and the emergence of Calder Hart, Rick’s half brother as the serious contender for Francesca’s heart. While she loves Rick, there are MAJOR roadblocks I can’t go into due to spoiliage. But lemme just say, there’s a scene where Calder is with his mistress and he kisses her palm and sayd, “I want to kiss the heart of your sex” and dude, I nearly fainted.

Great tension here. There’s a multiple murder situation going on story wise. You learn more about Joel’s mother Maggie, which is great because I like her character. And some bad women move into the picture. Hmpf.

Anyway, I can’t believe I never read these books before but I’m so glad Laura rec’d them to me!

Otherwise I’m working! Working and writing and this weekend I may drop in with a wee sneaky peek excerpt from Relentless!

New content up at Dane/Hart!

You know, I have yet to read this series although a friend keeps nagging me to get to it so we can discuss them. 🙂

Angie – LOL! I’m so involved in the world already. I actually gasped when Rick told Francesca he had a wife!

Mad – it’s not a straight romance, it’s a story with a great romantic sub plot so it you approach it that way, I think it really works.
