National Doodle Day for NF Research

I don’t often speak of this in public because there are things I like to keep private in my life but my oldest son has neurofibromatosis. There’s no cure for NF and you never know when it will accelerate or if it will be mild. Lots of not knowing which you know for a mom is hard, really hard because I can’t protect him from an unknown future. We’re very fortunate that his case has been very mild so far although puberty is a rough time for kids with NF – often resulting in more fibromas (tumors) and other side affects (scoliosis for instance).

Anyway, NF Inc is having a benefit all month long for NF Awareness month – as such they’re auctioning off celebrity doodles at ebay from May 8th – 18th. You can check out all the nifty doodles up for bid at ebay through this link

Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder that affects one in every 2,500 births. NF is more common than Cystic Fibrosis, Muscular Dystrophy and Huntington’s Disease combined. Funds raised from the Doodle Day auction will go to support education, advocacy, coalitions, and research for treatments and a cure.
