Go Ranty McRantypants!!
I swear your VBlogs are going to make you famous. I LOVE you!
by Sasha April 30th, 2008 at 6:00 pmI love you.
by Lillilan Feisty April 30th, 2008 at 6:25 pm…you made me *snarfle.*
But alas. So true.
Don’t read books you don’t like.
But please stop trying to make me not read (or write) books I DO.
M
by mMm April 30th, 2008 at 6:31 pmOkay, the first one? I had to laugh out loud a few times because you are SO animated. I just love you. And I totally agree with you… people need to just deal and not read what they don’t like. It’s as simple as that.
by Marissa Scott April 30th, 2008 at 6:39 pmTell that Jan to shut up and SMOKE A HOOKAH!
I love you, sweetie, esp. when you rant a good one. I think some people just pick one book up, not like it, and judge an entire range of books on that one book. So not fair.
by Gennita Low April 30th, 2008 at 7:50 pmJenn hooked me up with your blog - YOU RULE!! How funny was that rant, anyway?
I have read both good and not so good erotica and guess what? When I don’t like some of the erotica, I don’t usually buy from that author again. But I don’t feel it necessary to tar an entire genre with that same brush. Sheesh.
Keep on keeping on, Divine Ms. Dane - you are da bomb!!
by Maria April 30th, 2008 at 7:54 pmThank you, I needed that. Great rant.
by Ann April 30th, 2008 at 9:11 pmLOL - you have a cute accent when you rant.
The solution to the problem is pretty simple, as you say. Don’t read what you don’t like. Life is too short.
by Shelley Munro April 30th, 2008 at 9:58 pmMy hat (not that I wear one) is off to you. I had to laugh a couple of times in your first rant.
What a novel idea. Don’t buy books you don’t like to read. Whatever will they think up next? Maybe…I don’t know…not trying to stop other people from writing and reading books you don’t like!
by Mechele Armstrong aka Lany of Melany Logen May 1st, 2008 at 6:05 amHuh….all that time wasted reading books she hates and watching porn when she could have been writing.
by Amie Stuart May 1st, 2008 at 7:34 amIf you don’t like the genre, don’t %#&^ read it and then complain about it.
by Diane M. May 1st, 2008 at 7:51 amBwah! I was shaking my pom poms while you ranted, darlin
I so need to get a video blog.
Then again…maybe I shouldn’t.
by Jaci Burton May 1st, 2008 at 8:36 amOh heavens… Lauren that was perfect!
I have a problem with people who, as you say, read books they don’t like and then trash them… HUH?
by Kathy K May 1st, 2008 at 9:07 amPersonally when I read a rant, uh…review, like that I’m inclined to get the darned book. I can make up my own mind… and if I don’t like it then that’s my bad, not the author’s.
*shakes head*
I have to hand it to you Lauren, you did good… and kept your cool far better than I would’ve.
Gee, Lauren, are you annoyed?
Okay, I’m off to write my “thin, little” plots. *wrinkles brow* What the HEY kinda English is that?
by Anya Bast May 1st, 2008 at 10:30 amOMG, that was so awesome!! Thin, little plots huh … what an idiot. Nothing but hateration … just let it roll right off of ya because you are fantastic writer!!!
by Lori Y. May 1st, 2008 at 12:49 pmThese should come with a *will make you spit pop out* warning. I was cracking up so much I could have ruined a keyboard! And I don’t think my work would have appreciated that.
by tvaddictgurl May 1st, 2008 at 12:56 pmGo Lauren! I don’t read horror, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to trash those who do.
Jeez - if you don’t like the genre, don’t buy the book! I believe it’s a simple concept.
But your rant was great! Loved it!

by Valerie Tibbs May 1st, 2008 at 4:59 pmHi Lauren,
LOL, cool new toy you have here with the vblog. :)
by Michelle M Pillow May 1st, 2008 at 6:34 pmRrrrrrrrrrroflmao.
by Emma Petersen May 1st, 2008 at 11:19 pmOMG! That was freakin’ hysterical. I was crying from the laughter! You go girl!
by Sandy May 2nd, 2008 at 4:47 amLoving your live blogs they are great keep them up. Agree completely as usual. Why people want to censor what the rest of us is reading is beyond me. It’s quite simple if you don’t like what the book’s about then don’t read it. But stop bothering the rest of us.
by Christine May 2nd, 2008 at 7:27 amI have a confession to make.
I am the one who has been going around holding a gun to people’s heads and forcing them to purchase and read books that contain swear words and sexual intercourse that may involve unmarried people and sometimes even ([nudity]). I also tear out all the pages in between the sex scenes, hence their failure to recognize a plot. My bad.
It’s the new wave in marketing (manipulating Amazon ratings is so last year). Gotta capture that non-prude demographic by any means necessary.
by Kerry Allen May 2nd, 2008 at 7:49 amI laughed. And I agreed. What a shocking proposition - don’t read books you don’t like…
by Savannah May 2nd, 2008 at 2:11 pmIt always does make me wonder, those people who froth at the mouth at things like erotica and porn… how much energy they’re giving it… how they have to visit every single porn site to enrage themselves further…
Saw this link at Jenns. Marvellous! One would think if you don’t like it don’t read it would be quite simple, obviously not. Your live blogs are super cool!
