Sassy Saturday – Wolf Unbound Impromptu Contest
Dec

2007

I had a review of Jaci Burton’s Riding Wild ready to go up today but I just received my author copies of Cascadia Wolves: Wolf Unbound so I thought I’d do a contest for some ARCs and put up the review tomorrow.

Work for you?

Okay here’s the deal: I’ll choose a winner from the commenters on this post at 7 pm pacific/10 eastern tonight, December 29.

All I need is why you like any or all of the elements in the book – romance, paranormals, erotic romance, werewolves, shifters, BDSM or heck, even this particular series.

That’s it. I’ll choose at least one winner later today. Good luck everyone!

First off, I love shifter stories, especially wolves. I for one like the idea that there is someone out there that will be by my side forever if I find him. Second, BDSM to me shows a level of trust, honesty, devotion and love that is in general sadly lacking in today’s society. And to me there is nothing like a touching love story, with strong characters and engaging plot combined with the smokin’ HAWT sexplay your well-known for. 😳

Love paranormals as an escape from day to day life. Love shifters (the whole idea that someone can change into another animal). Also love the Cascadia Wolves, because its a great series.

Why do I love the elements? Well, paranormal allows more possibilities for connections between the h/h and depending on the type/powers, it intensifies the heat between them.

Erotic romance to me, is a much hotter, more interesting read for me. I find my tastes do not run to the vanilla, as will be evidenced by my next element comment.

BDSM…it’s something I fantasize about and reading it in a romance is a safe way for me to enjoy it. So hot. Something about it takes me to the next level.

Hmmmm – I love the dichotomy of shifters. The mix of the more cerebral human and the more instinctive animal. I like to see how the authors mix the two and come out with a whole being in which they coexist.

And, of course, I love your stories πŸ™‚

I have a special love of my furies. I love shifters. The loyality, the alpha male what isn’t there to love there. but after reading witches knot the third i could be brought over to the vamp side. Holly was one lucky lady!!

I love to imagine that shifters really do exist and who’s to say they don’t since they like to keep private. πŸ˜‰

As for BDSM, not everyone enjoys the give and take of control but I find it very exciting. You have to trust your partner to the upmost and that trust deepens the relationship.

I’m so happy to see that the next installment of Cascadia Wolves is due soon.

I love shapeshifters and werewolves because I love animals and it is so awesome to think of people with the power to change their shape. I love your books. I like this series particularly because it is so different from real life and it is part of my favorite genre: paranormal. Happy Holidays!

ohh wanted to add, one of the nice things bout paranormals is, your charactors can have 1. more conflict cause they can have that internal conflict of when is my power used for good when is it used for evil? and what happens should either go too far. and it is the internal conflict that makes the charactor more real. you feel connected to them and want them suceed.

I Love vampires, weres, time travel and ghosts. The most important part of the book is how well it’s written. Nothing is worse than a poorly written, shallow plotted book.

hmmm…lets see, I love paranormal because I want an escape from reality, I get enough of the normal in real life, I don’t want it in my books. I love Shapeshifters and Vampires because they are just HOOOOOOTTTTT!!! The strong alpha male, dark, brooding, lonely for someone to complete them. *shiver* what’s not to like.

Well, as for paranormal in general, especially shifters, one of the main reasons why I really enjoy it is that it’s different from our daily life, after all I don’t think my man will change into a wolf tomorrow for example 😎 BDSM can also be great in books since it’s not something I would do in real life but it turns me on while I’m reading though.

Ooh, all those elements make for a great read, especially if it involves shifters who are into BDSM. There needs to be trust established for both of those, loving a dominate shifter takes a special heroine (or hero πŸ˜‰ ). πŸ˜€

I love shifter romances. You have the best of the best in this type of book.

The shifter hero is like the alpha heroes of years ago. Usually totally devoted to the heroine and totally loyal to his family.

As an author of paranormals myself, I love the flexibility of the characters. I like shifters who angst about loving humans and the humans who think they are nuts to be involved with someone who sheds!

I love paranormal elements because it encompasses werewolves, vamps, other types of shifters, witches and etc. The stories usually have lots of romantic suspense too. And let’s not forget some major Alpha heroes.

I have always loved paranormal stories and began reading everything that I could get my hands on in grade school. Adding romance to them was just perfect for me. Vampires, shifters, ghosts and demons (the good ones) lend an air of mystery that ties it together. Erotica and BDSM (lite for me) is relatively new (around 2 years) for my reading but I find that I enjoy the details the the less graphic stories leave to the imagination.

I enjoy see the twists, turns, humor, intrigue, mystery, excitement, that hold me captive waiting and wondering what’s next. I especially like it when I get “emotionally” pulled into the story lines; tears, laughter, anger.

I enjoy the moments that I set aside to read – its my time. It’s an appointment that I keep…kind of like ladies getting their hair or nails done religiously. That’s me and the stories that capture my attention.

I’ve only been reading paranormals for a couple of years but really enjoy them. Love the way you can get totally into the story as you’re reading. And the alpha hero’s are another reason to read paranormals. They are so yummy.

Congrats on the upcoming release. Oh, and I found a bunny. πŸ˜€

I love paranormals. Especially the vamps and shifters. I also like bdsm if it’s done right. I guess the reason I like paranormals though is because you can really let your imagination run wild with them.

I love shapeshifter stories, and almost any kind of paranormal story. The males are usually alpha males, and I love the strength and confidence they always have in thrmselves. Also, they are sensual and fiercely protective of their mates.

I love paranormal stories. I recently found your novels and have been devouring them. While it is always nice to see an alpha male, I love that the women in your stories are strong minded and strong willed. They hold their own with their men and the people around them, something I hope my daughters will grow up to be.

I have purchased both Fire and Rain, and Ascension, I enjoyed the whole aspect of shifters, I love how you blended the concept of pack life with the human perspective. I don’t want to read books that are all about today’s issues, set in today’s societies, if I want that I can watch the news. Paranormals add that certain twist, they fullfill the need for something more.

I love the strong men and what they can accomplish! I can only seem to find the men that need mothers and want to be dominated. I need to find me a good strong man who can be strong both in and out of bed  I seen a bunny here too! Aimee

I have tp admit that I love all fiction. From Barbara Cartland’s (they DO have their place) mushy romances to techie sci-fi (robots and wars, strange worlds and customs) to ‘tear you down and build you up’ BDSM (oh…that feels sooo good). They all have their place don’t you agree, ladies?
